Very high quality and strong

When you pick it up, you cna feel this is a high quality product. I have dropped it a couple of times and had no problems. You'll need a pop filter for recording. The switch is quite easy to accidently turn on and off, I would prefer if it had a harder to push switch. So for that the features get 3/5 rather than 5.

Great quality for a decent price

Used this mic for recording and it gives excellent results. I appreciate that it has an on/off button as well. The outside is durable, sturdy.

I especially love how it sounds in the low and middle register of the voice.

A Legendary Mic!

I use this great microphone mostly for live singing and I have to say that it does exactly what it promisses on its box! It delivers warm and clear vocal reproduction.

?n addition to that, I never came across with feedback issues while performing, not even the times I had a speaker very close to me. Absolutely good value for money!

All the very good reviews are true

I've used the SM58 forever and yes ... everything you have heard is true. Dependable, rugged, seems to deal with all kinds of abuse (not from me - as I look after my gear), the odd fall or being dropped on stage, but mostly it sounds good with most voices.

Top quality sound

We have been using these as our main microphones for our Ukulele Club gigs for over six months now and can't fault them. Sound quality is excellent and also great sensitivity, which is very important to us as we need to pick up vocals and instruments on the same mics. Easy to see why they are such big sellers.

The one and only...

It's the industry standard for a reason. Not because you have to have one, it's because they last forever. This SM58s with a switch will outlast any other microphone if dropped and that's what I would expect for studio use.

The '58 is really designed for live use, it has a pneumatic damper built in to reduce handling noise and the frequency roll off on the lows prevents bass heavy proximity effects. The pickup pattern reduces background noise and can help prevent feedback.

I use mine in my studio and it gets the respect it deserves from the bands. So there!

Its bundled with a mic clip and soft bag. Add a few more pounds/euros/bucks and get the lead and stand bundle, you won't be disappointed.

Industry standard great microphone.

What I have noticed most about using this mike the first few times was how well the audience responds to your voice because of the clarity, as a DJ making announcements it is refreshing to see everyone paying attention straight away.

The other great feature is the high feedback tolerance, the main reason for purchasing is because my existing mike was having trouble with feedback when working in loud night clubs, but this has been great having that extra bit of volume available to cut through the noise.

Great for Open Mic

I had one of these already and needed another one. This is a good sounding mic for all sorts of PA systems. Pricing was perfect as it was part of a bundle package.

Durable staple microphone

I bought my SM58s a few years ago now and its still going strong as ever. Can't even begin to count the amount of times its had a fall or drop and it still looks like new, no paint chips just a few dents in the filter head. Not too worried about that as you can buy replacement heads pretty cheaply.

It might seem silly to have to pay extra for a on/off switch but get this its so worth it. Whenever you want to immediately cut the signal, for example if you've got some killer feedback and need to save your ears.

You can totally see why this microphone is so legendary, it gives just great, warm vocals but I've also never had any complaints when mic'ing my guitar or drums with it.

It comes with a few extras to, including a leather microphone case, which mine lives in.

Very reliable

Industry standard for a reason. Very sturdy- if you shoved it up a pterodactyl's behind which flew over Chernobil and pooped it out 200 meters above the reactor core, waited enough time for the radiation to get low enough to be safe to visit the place again, you'd still have a working microphone.

I bought the switchy model so I could turn it off while looping instruments. Works like a charm.

SM58

Industry standard and industry standard for a very good reason. Amazing build quality, great sounding and resonably priced. Every venue in the world must use these mics and there are plenty of reasons why. Great microphone. Highly recommended

I bought a pair of these for live gigging and as always with Shure (especially SM58s) I have not had a single problem. Everything you would want from a mic and would definitely replace them with the same if the need arises.

I bought the 58s because I wanted the switched version but the two Mics are the same...

This is a fabulous dynamic Mic for the price, for live Gigs there is nothing better, there is nothing else to say........

Industry standard

Industry standard microphone. Made for instrument mic'ing BUT used for vocals and instrument mic'ing all around the world. The S-model comes with an on-off switch which is useful. Will not make any wierd sounds. The model A of dynamic michrophones - even your gramma knows this mic. Drop it - you'll propably not brake it. Use two for stereo mic'ing and you will have a nice trainig room quality recording of your stuff. Can be used for drum mic'ing and brass also. If you don't have one you should get one. I have two and will buy more. In the world of microphones this is the "just do it" one.

Good All-Round

I have had this for 7 years and still works perfectly. what can I say that has not already been said about this? I find it extremely useful to have a switch on the mic.

good all-round. I use a Beta 87 for vocal though, as I find this "rolls off" too quickly when at a short distance.

Industry standard vocal mike, very well made and durable but a little expensive

While this mike is the industry standard and has a solid reputation, I can't help but feel you are paying a little more than necessary for the specifications on offer here just for the sake of the brand name. The mike can sound a little bit too warm sometimes (to my ears) and therefore there is a little loss of top end clarity. Although it has not caused me any problems so far, I was a little disappointed to see that the on / off switch and it's surround is in fact plastic and not solid metal like the rest of the microphone -it feels a bit flimsy compared to the rest of the mike's bullet-proof build.

Strong and durable

Shure SM58 mics use for more than 20 years and they are worth it. I recommend to everyone. You can always adjust each concert. Strong and durable. This is my standard microphone.
