Shure SRH440 4-stars Reviews
very good for price
sound quality is very good, BUT its not comfortable to use for a long time.
Great headphones
Overall great headphones. Nice detailed sound, no surprises when listening to wide range of music, not bass too heavy and their weight is not too heavy either so there's no pressure after few hours of use. Build quality is great although ear pads began to crack after few months so that's little bit of disappointment but ok, there's replacement to buy. All in all, very satisfied!
Outside noise not canceled
These headphones have great sound and are so comfortable that you forget you even have them on. Great highs, great low end. Their only disadvantage is that they do not do a good job on canceling outside sounds. It is something totaly irrelevant for studio recording, but for home recording it is quite significant.
Great value for money
I wanted to purchase some headphones that not only sound good but also have a reasonable price. I came across these headphones on this site and they had a huge amount of great reviews and and the price seemed reasonable. I have been very happy with them since I purchased them. The sound quality is really even and has great clarity all across the board from punchy lows to clear highs.
Compared to other more expensive headphones I have used these are much better. Having a detachable cable is also a nice feature because if that was to break its just a matter of replacing that one part instead of buying a whole new set of headphones.
Very good headphones......
These headphones have a superior performance with a good price point. I had a listen the bass guitar through it and it sounded very tight and had a good low frequency response. I would highly recommend this set of headphones for a budgeted studio or live performance situation. The build quality is really good.
Shure headphone review
This is my second pair of these. First pair is still going although cosmetically a bit of a mess and the 3.5mm pin is prone to bending. Love the flat frequency response and sound of these headphones and for the price I think they are great. On my first pair the plastic sort of fake leather lining on the bar that goes over your head started to degenerate after a couple of years and I would get flecks of black plasticky stuff stuck in my hair after long sessions. Purely cosmetic. Nothing some gaffer wont fix. Wish the length of the cable was a bit longer. In a studio setting you will need an extension to get any decent amount of length. Sound still fine and no distortion after all that time.
Very good value sound-wise though not the most comfortable
Sound is very good at this price point, better than more expensive headphones I have used.
Not the most comfortable for me as the earpieces are a teeny bit small for my ears, but hey we all suffer for our art sometimes!
Very good headphones for the price
Very nice all-around-sound and nice fit. Comfort is something that was complained about in some comments before I bought these, so I ordered straight away the replacement ear pads for the more expensive 840, which are much more softer and more comfortable, and they fit perfectly also the 440's.
I can recommend these if you want a good pair of headphones but don't need or don't have the money for über-high-end pair.
My first closed headphones
First time I could not wear these headphones longer as 1,5 hours, because I had feeling, that my head is always under pressure. My musician buddy told me, that that is ok for closed headphones.
Sound is very good too. You can normally make recordings and mixing with these headphones.
But, if I whoud know about Audio Technica ATH-M40 X, I whoud prefer better Audio Technica. Prise is the same, but they are more comfortable and the sound is more realistical(at least I like it better as by Shure)
