Shure SRH440 5-stars Reviews
Love these!
This is my new favorite studio headsets. The quality of these headphones vs the price is a steal! I have a pair of Shure SE215-CL in ear monitors, and they have very similar sound.
Can’t never go wrong with shure.
Excellent budget solution
A friend of mine, who's an experienced sound engineer recommended to me these headphones and I must say that they sound quite well and suit my needs perfectly.
The only thing that bothers me is the band which irritates my scalp and I need to keep moving it back and forth to give my skin a rest.
very nice headphones
good quality good sound. Only thing i would change is the chord it is to short IMOP but easy to change.
Amazing for the price!
Got many of them in the studio for musicians to monitor and would definitely buy more If needed. Really durable, have used them on the field and in the studio, they held up really good.
The sound is great for the price! You can't go wrong with these!
Pros:
Durable
Good looking
Sound great
Replacable cable
Cons:
none I guess
Good studio reference headphones, not meant for just listening to your favourite music
These are for studio use, not recreational use. They have a flat response which will not sound right if you are used to headphones with a bass boost. Perfect for monitoring use though. The spiral flex cord has a locking plug at both ends, so if you get to your limit it wont rip the plug out of the jack.
Classics!
Great sound and fit!
Good quality, good finish, good sound
Good quality, good finish, good sound - clear with good bass. Satisfied, with no defect found at the moment.
No colour is good colour for studio
Love these headphones, comfy , light, true plain sound lets you know exactly how your work is doing in studio! I?m going to get more,
Excellent for drummers
For the last 4 years, I've been using the infamous Vic firth SIH-1 headphones for practicing drums, and chose these headphones hoping for a significantly improved drumming experience. As I hoped, these headphones are excellent for drummers; they are comfortable to wear for extended period of time (I typically use mine 2 hours at a time with no discomfort), the sound quality is fantastic - great clarity, the sound isolation is better than expected - not too dissimilar to the SIH-1's, and these headphones are still very affordable.
When I'm not drumming, these headphones produce a fantastic sound for generally listening to music.
Highly recommended for drummers looking to upgrade from the naff SIH-1 !
Great for General Listening
Great for general listening and very comfortable and affordable - obviously a shaped frequency response (boosted mids), so be aware and be sure to double check mixes on other systems. I've had these for 2 years now and still have no problems with them. Sturdy product for Shure ;)
Excellent headphones for a home studio
Great, well-balanced sound which for the price is surely hard to beat. The cable seems to be sturdy and is locked in to avoid getting pulled out while moving around. Like most headphones, you need to take them off once in a while to give your ears/head a break, but the comfort is generally very good. Changing the length of the head band could perhaps be a bit smoother but nothing to complain about really given how often you need to do that. Fully recommendable!
Best headphones at the price range
I've been using these for over a year now and all i have to say about it are good things !
The sound is clear , pretty bright while still handling the low-end very nicely (I'm a bassist) .
The foam on top gets a little worn out but nothing out of the ordinary, and lastly , it isn't the best option for long-time hearing because the coushions could be a lot better on top.
Excellent Product
Brilliant sound. good quality product
Great headphones !
I use these mainly for drumming and listening to music. Good isolation and clear sound. Would recommend !
Great clear sound
I've had these headphones for 5 years now and I still really enjoy using them. I find they have a really clear uncoloured sound which is great for my purposes.
Pro:
The fact that the wire is removable and replaceable is really an excellent design feature as the wire is usually the first thing to break. Although mine is still going strong it's nice to know I have the option to replace it later if needs be.
Con:
The only negative I have about the headphones is that they can get a little uncomfrotable after 3-4 hrs of continuous use. Though I usually use this as a reminder that I should take a break :)
This is my Studio Headphone
i have many different Headphones, but thisone is my favorite for mixing and mastering. I like the natural and clear sound, what you hear is what you play, nothing boosted or cutoff by any builtin Filters or similar. Perfect fit and isolation, also while longer sessions. The only thing i dont like is the coiled cable, but there is a non coiled replacement cable, unfortunately you have to buy it seperate.
High quality, natual sounding Headphone for a good price
Shure SRH440 studio phones
Bought these as a compliment to my other pair of reference head phones, just to have alternates when going "mixing deaf". I had read that they are supposed to be a bit weak in the low end, wich suited me just fine for my purposes, and indeed they were. Not lacking in bass, but lacking the rumbliness that many mid price head phones got. Perfect for being my "second pair of ears" when mixing. Sadly it uses the coiled cable that get's stuck in everything, but fortunately Shure tend to have head phones with detachable cables as this one also does, so that was easy to swap for a straight cable. These cans didn't press so hard om my /very big) head as others may do, wich makes for comfortable longer sit downs, but they are not for head banging, cause then they may fall off! Ear buds very comfortable, even for fake leather, and encircles my (also big) ears. Other than that, Shure quliaty all over, they never seem to disapoint on the over all scale.
Great headphones!
I use these to help me listen out for bad mistakes in mixes, when in home studios where the acoustic treatment is sub-par.
Sound:
The sound is way beyond it's price. Very flat and true sounding, great for mixing stuff. Perhaps for listening to music in general its a little bit light on the bass, but that's how I like it as I use it mainly for studio use.
Comfort:
I tend to use these for hours on end. When you first put them on they feel snug, and fit around your ear very nicely. After about 1 and a half hours, my ears need a breather, and can feel a little sore, but a good 5 minute break tends to do the trick. It maybe just my ears, others may not have that problem.
Quality:
I've had these for half a year now and have had no problems with them so far. Having said that, I do worry about the two small wires that come from the main casing and go into the speakers, they are small and unprotected and could easily be ripped off if care isn't taken.
Conclusion:
These are some of the best headphones I've ever used. They work great in the studio and have a great flat sound in general. I would recommend them to people for their home studios.
Great sounding and really comfortable!
I bought these Shure headphones to replace my aging Sennheisers that I've had for many years. I was astonished by the difference! I've always regarded wearing headphones as a necessary evil while recording, but these Shure SRH440s are a pleasure to wear. They're not at all muffled sounding, with crisp highs and tight, not boomy, lows. They're also very comfortable to wear for prolonged periods, which is important in a studio, and there isn't too much sound leakage - a real advantage when recording vocals. I plan to buy a couple more pairs of these over the next couple of years... or maybe even step up to the next model!
