Comfortable, good sound without breaking the bank

I got these on the recommendation of a friend who also does home music recording. I find the sound pretty good across all frequencies. Best of all, they are lightweight and super comfortable so you can focus on the sound for hours at at time without getting physically sore ears! They have an odd way of collapsing when you take them off, but that's so they fold down to fit into a neat carry bag (supplied). The 1/4" jack plug unscrews to become a mini-jack, so the phones can be plugged into pretty much any audio output jack.

Good for price

Four years of use and only issues are the earpieces deteriorating and replacements are half the price of new headphones. However, considering the low cost, these headphones have served me very well. Can cause soreness on the ears after many hours which is unfortunate but I suppose I should just go outside more.

Good for vocal recordings

I found this headphone is good for vocal recording, vocals go upfront naturally. Its more midrangy to me. Feels good and old school, like it..

Quality

The sound for the price is above average the quality is top they can handle very easy any kind of music specila at middle and low frequnces. After 1 hr you may want a break not so comfort but they re generaly ok and very stable on ears.

compact & comfortable/ sticky ear pads

The sound lacks some base and they don't fit very tight, but they are comfortable, foldable and compact which makes them my preferred headphones to carry around. After a certain time the ear pads will start to crackle, but hold on and after even a longer while the black coating of the ear pads will disappear entirely and you'll be left with soft comfortable ear pads.

Make sure you wash your ears though when they start loosing their black coating or look for better replacement pads that don't have the black coating.

Their popularity is no surprise!

Sony has never let me down in the audio world

These are no exception! Great for mixing and listening to music

The build quality is great, all the little details and the materials are great

My only complaints are that the cable being a little heavy and the ear cups could be a bit deeper so my ears wouldn't touch the inside. After a while they get a bit sore, but nothing a little break won't solve

Also, the ear pads are unfortunately made of that material that flakes over time, a bit of a shame...

But on the other hand, they're so affordable and sound so good that they're totally worth it. The less positive aspects are easy to get over anyway, in my opinion.

It is a classic.

It is a classic almost every studio has. Its design and comfort shows its age.

Since it is classic, it doesn't have new features like detachable cable, or better pads or headband.

Its clarity and sound is already proven by so many people. I think there should be redesign without loosing its sound signature.

The Immortal Classic

Pure sound without any embellishments - exactly what it really is. Allows you to hear many nuances. But as for me, it's uncomfortable to sit in these headphones for a long time, personally, my ears start to hurt (I mean, even without a sound).

Nice quality, good sound and comfortable fit

I bought these to play mt digital piano without bothering the whole house. The sound is sooth and they cancel most other noises, and are extremely light and comfortable. The build seems also to be very sturdy, and the cable is very long, allowing for movement.

Mids are very clear, not too strong on the bass but I understand that is a useful feature for sound production.

Not the comfiest but good value

I found these not the comfiest to wear but versus value for money definitely a good purchase sound quality again is very good for the price.

Love these, sound great to me!

For the price I am more than happy with these which I use for every day listening and recording / mixing tracks via a DAW. Well happy... I use a lot so it was inevitable that the material on the ear cups do wear. Thankfully you can replacements fairly cheap. Apart from that they are still good as new! recommended h-phones for home studios but I know Pros use them too!

Legendary headphones

I bought two of these headphones to use in my studio when recording vocalists, one for them and one for me to listen to the performance. It's a really good product for the price but they don't sound really good in the long run.. They are really really bright and the build quality is something you would except for that price. But as I said you can't really find better headphones in the world if you take the price in the equation.

an upgrade worth having

the purpose of this monitors is to tell you the truth and that's exactly what they do, i am using them to "train" my ears to be sharper and more accurate and they are wonderful for that purpose.

in my case is for voice and vocal monitoring and they pick up a WIDE spectrum of sound and deliver it as advertised.

Pros: honesty of sound and good build quality, as well as look good in my opinion,

Cons: price can be an issue , but they are an industry standard .

And as mentioned, comfort is not their strong suit. after about 30-60 mins you feel ear fatigue and have to re-adjust them.

Pro&con: the non detachable curled cable ,is conformable while recording, but in editing after a while you feel the weight of the bulky cable on your left side.

conclusion : BUY! its the best education that your ears can get if you wanna advance your skills .

Very good product for a very good price

This product is used for a home studio. For sure my best headphones, though I don't really have experience with more expensive ones. I Use them to write in my daw with my helix for guitar and for my audio interphase. Very comfortable, and durable, (I have them for almost a year now. Thats a keeper!

Good overall headphones

I use this headphones alongside Audio-Technica M50, when working with somebody else and they forgot/don't have their headophones. Compared to M50, they have a bit more clear sound, especially in the mid-high high frequencies. They are not as bass heavy as M50, but I find them more accurate. They leak sound a bit more than M50 and produce less volume on same settings. They can still be used with telephone (those that even have headphone ports :).

The build quality is good, but might not survive rough handling or accidentally pulling on those small cables connected to speakers. With normal, respectful use they should be fine, the ones I have are still in good condition.

I think these are nice headphones, but not my favourite.

One of the best of its price range.

Very good sounding headphones for Dj'ing and for listening to music as well. Comfortable enough for a couple of hours (not healthy to listen to more than that).
