Sony MDR-7506 Reviews
Absolute studio classic
One of the best choices you can make in this price range. Balanced, DRY and without any surprises. You can work for hours with those on your head, they are really comfy.
Perfect.
Affordable great sounding headphones. I bought these headphones along with Audio Technica M50x and the Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro 80 Ohm to compare and these were the clear winner. They had much more clarity than the other two sets and gave a much truer sound in my opinion. (And they're the cheapest!)
The best for the price
I have tried really a lot of headphones. 7506 are classics and they are really top quality, comfortable and good sounding. You could even mix with a good correction curve. For tracking I would prefer them to AKG's or Bayer's headphones with a slightly higher price tag.
Sony MDR-7506
Pros: Accurate sound reproduction Comfortable over-ear design Durable construction Collapsible design Affordable price Cons: Can clamp down on the head The MDR-7506 offers great sound quality and a durable build at an affordable price. Comfort may be an issue for some users.
8 years and counting!
Amazing headphones for the price, would buy them again! Perfect for recording, relatively comfortable as they tend to feel quite heavy after hours of use. Only con that comes to mind is the cushion material - terrible. The fake leather is very thin and went to pieces after a year. Fortunately there are plenty of aftermarket replacements of better quality.

5 Stars All Round
I bought the Sony MDR-7506 back in 2015 and I still use them to this very day! Due to their comfort, I can wear these for hours. These studio monitor headphones give crystal clear low & high response across the frequency spectrum at low and high volume levels. I have used these to produce and listen to multiple genres such as Rock, Hip Pop, House & Techno.
Their build is high quality, I used these headphones throughout my 4 years of college, so they took a beaten, but they work like the first day I bought them.
These are my all time favourite headphones and I will continue to buy the Sony MDR-7506 (Whenever these one's kick the bucket :) )
Great set of headphones
I use these for podcasting and recording and have found them comfortable for use over a long period and they have great sound quality.
Beginner opinion: great
As far as I can tell, the headphones sound very well. It's the only system I have for mixing so far, and they get the job done.
I live in the north of Italy, and in summer it's almost impossible to use them, as my ears immediately begin to sweat
top quality and comfort
these aren't industry standard for nothing, best headphone I have ever owned and not too expensive, ,
brilliant bones
I've always found Sony to deliver great sound. these ar Eno different. the curly wire is a bit annoying and sometimes the earpiece seems to catch itself when trying to place on the ear. still recommended for studio use. I also use them with my Roland td27 drums.
Excellent sound perfect for keyboard instruments
I bought these for synth / digital piano use and they sound great. They deserve the "Studio monitor" moniker and the price is great too. I am not a big fan of the coil cable design though.
Amazing
Really great, time-tested monitors.
Great for recording voice/guitar.
I especially like the curled cable - it's very snug and neat to use.
Comfortable, good sound without breaking the bank
I got these on the recommendation of a friend who also does home music recording. I find the sound pretty good across all frequencies. Best of all, they are lightweight and super comfortable so you can focus on the sound for hours at at time without getting physically sore ears! They have an odd way of collapsing when you take them off, but that's so they fold down to fit into a neat carry bag (supplied). The 1/4" jack plug unscrews to become a mini-jack, so the phones can be plugged into pretty much any audio output jack.
The best for podcasting
They may be in circulation for decades but you can't beat the sound quality, build and ease of use. All top marks.
Good for price
Four years of use and only issues are the earpieces deteriorating and replacements are half the price of new headphones. However, considering the low cost, these headphones have served me very well. Can cause soreness on the ears after many hours which is unfortunate but I suppose I should just go outside more.
Great Product
There is no doubt in my mind why this product is considered an "industry standard", great sound quality, low price... if you are a top producer or an amateur, this is for you.
