Stairville LED Flood Panel 150 20° RGB Reviews
I spent years lugging big heavy halogen lights around even LEDs.. I bit the bullet one night and decided enough is enough.. I had enough of trying to fit the bigger lights into smaller venues.. so I got these.
They are fantastic! I would be careful with the perspex screen as they are quite light a heavier duty plastic would be more welcoming now saying that I was careless in how I was transporting them. So I got the optional padded bags which did the trick! And the bags are really really good!!! I just ordered more! 👌
Quality Light at a great price
A high quality, easy to use and great value LED par can. I bought these for small gigs as they are easy to transport and use. They can be daisy chain connected so reduces the number of plugs required and easily set up.
I would recommend for small bands in smaller size gigs.
Happy
Good price. Would buy more
very good
We use this at our live shows. it's linked to our DMIXS via cubase. The lights work great. unbelievable for this price!!!
Great Lights
Wanted to add some colour to pillars in my event space so these fitted the bill perfectly. Colour matched to the brides colour scheme during the day then change to sound to light for the evening. Great lights at an amazing price.
Great LED PAR
Real good product! The plexi in front of the leds is really clever and smart solution. No more mosquitos and dust inside. Nice colors, and the power out slot is fantastic :) Best for this price. Thank you!
Good value LED spot/wash
We bought 2 of these to sit on the lighting Ts each side of the band to spotlight our singer. The 20° version is ideal for this job as the spread of light is not too big. If you want a larger spread get the 40° version. Light output is adequate for small to medium stages, but bare in mind these are only 18 watt units. Colour mixing is good but the white is (as with all 3 colour LEDs) very cold. If you want a white spot, look elsewhere. Construction is adequately robust. In and out mains sockets are a valuable facility. DMX control is very easy to set up. The price is a give away.
Best for small bands.
Easy to care, best for small bands. Programming by DMX is easy, no problems with work.
Colors are good, fading have a good speed and respond.
good bit of kit
very easy to set up , easy to use , nice colour mixing, yup once again it's a top bit of kit....I'm going to get more.
Great little BIG light!
These flood panels are compact and lightweight. Moreover, they conveniently fold flat; therefore making it easily and practical to carry around.
Unlike traditional floods of a similar size and power, which as we all know can become very hot and emit a lot of unwanted heat, the LEDs on these flood panels remain cool even after hours of operation. Their metal enclosure only becomes warm to the touch. This makes them ideal for smaller venues where space is limited and where the lights tend to be placed close to the performers on the stage.
Compared to their 40° counterpart, this 20° unit produces a better overall effect since it distributes the light better overall, allowing you to place it closer to a wall. being in a band which has tended to play smaller venues, I would recommend having a mix of both version - 20° and 40°.
Final verdict: A definite yes!
Bright and light
Bright enough for smallish gigs, functions etc (we use a pair of them in conjunction with two Stairville 40º flood panels, a couple of party bar side fills and a couple of flat LED PAR cans, and light enough (both on the pocket and in weight) to make them a no-brainer.
Easy to use, totally reliable, highly recommended.
Nice metal housing, good quality for very good price. Worki even in outdoors event with plastic bag. Stabile.
excellent for uplighting Totems
Made a DMX profile for Freestyler and they work very well.
The 20 degree angle reaches to the top of uplighting 2m totems.
Brilliant price and solid units.
Best part is the LEDs are protected by a plastic front meaning they don't get dirty and requires a quick wipe over from time to time
good price - performance
Good price - performance, very mobile.
Excellent Uplighters
I've bought more than these that you can shake a stick at, and all have been excellent quality and useful for the job in hand... The programming system on the back of the unit is great, and very easy to use, once explained to a novice colleague they have managed to work their way through and make the unit do what they needed it to do...
The in / out IEC sockets are invaluable, especially when using these lights as uplighters, which is the main use that we use them for.
The LEDs are hard wearing and have not failed yet after owning some units for nearly a year, and they do not get an easy life being loaded into and out of flightcases and used at events week in week out.
Great budget fixture!
Love these at the price. Bought 4 of them, and find them to be superior to the 40 degree dispersion version in terms of brightness and overall effect. Simple and full featured 3-pin DMX in 3, 4 or 8 channel modes, along with stand-alone and master/slave modes make them suitable for decorative or small stage applications. The split brackets allow for hanging via an M10 bolt, or for stable ground positioning at . IEC Power "in" AND "out" is a great feature at this price. Have used these so far in small venues and bars for stage wash, and at festivals for marquee deco lighting and have not been disappointed yet. They do what they say on the tin, and at the price, you could buy lots...
great product with good light output
I wrore a longer review in the 40 degree angle model of this same product,
this is great value for money ans easy to setup,
only problem for me are the tight xlr inputs,
its hard to remove your connector from these female jacks.
Excellent Value for money
I already own the 40° version of the Stairville LED Flood Panel 150 unit. A pair of these units together makes a very effective, low-cost, lightweight and easy lighting rig for solo or duo musicians in a small venue or for a band if there is no room to set up a full size rig. The only difference between this 20° unit and the 40° unit is that the spread of light is greater on the 40° version, so it can be closer to a wall if the light is being reflected off it. I think the 40° version is probably more suitable for band stagelights, but having one of each probably makes a more versatile setup.
The LEDs stay cool in use and the casing only gets very slightly warm in use. This is a great benefit over lights with traditional bulbs which can radiate a lot of heat and cause the performers to get uncomfortably hot.
Great value for money!
This light is excellent for up lighting. I would not reccomend using it as a front wash because at far distances the light tends to get lost. but its great value for money and I will buy more
Great for money!
Light and compact, Didn't want to much light out put, rest of stage was fine so got 2 to just warm up the front of stage and has done the trick.
Not the strongest units made but if you sort out something to pack them in for transit your laughing. I tried an old padded laptop bag lyeing about and luckily both fitted snugg, done 4-5 gigs and no problems so far.
Only real negative was it came with Euro kettle leads but i had some uk ones knocking about so no big thing.
I should say I use these free standing on the floor but I've since noticed them attached to a permanent celling rig and can imagine they should work on a T-bar ok but again there not as strong as a lot of the normal par cam units which would be more robust for inevitable bashes of a working band!
Hope this helps.
