Startone SAS-75 Alto Sax Reviews
Good for a beginner!
This saxophone is fairly good for a beginner player. It has some tuning issues on the upper register, but still worth the try for the start-up of your journey as a sax player.
StarTone Saxophone
A Beautiful Saxophone.
Superb value for money.
Very good quality and fast delivery
Excellent ! >>
Its amazing how this low cost Sax can reach clear pitches high and low octaves ! Pretty good instrument I got it 7 months ago and I wanted to write a review after many tests and plays.
Its stable with no problems on its features or response! I would suggest to get one if you want to learn and then if you want something for a lifetime or an other type of sax pick a Selmer or Yamaha. This one can compete the Jupiters and yamaha student models and thats not only my opinion but also from 2 other sax players and instructors.
Of course when you pay less you might pay more attention to the instrument but if someone isn't paying attention to such an instrument its not worth it to get even a 5k Selmer.
Bless up.
Excellent
Our son has not looked back since he started playing his new sax and is about to embark upon his first solo in the school play. Customer service is great.
For beginners, it's passable
This sax is from the low range of prices, and in some ways it shows. The overall sound isn't bad, but the seals, especially in the smaller keys might develop leaks after a year or so.
I'd recommend changing the mouthpiece and strap from the start.
On a positive note, all the springs and tension wires are of good quality and haven't buckled even after years of playing.
Cork quality in neck piece is good, no need to service it if properly maintained.
Keeps tune well.
Well-balanced.
Overall price/quality ratio is good, though I'd perhaps recommend this one to beginners only.
fabulous Sax!
This is the best Sax I have found in my search for excellent value for money at a fare price too! Its worth the purchase. Look at the stars i've rated it with to see just how am so satisfied with this purchase!
Sax for sudent...
saxophone for students. The quality is not much, but you can not expect much for the price.
Help beginning to take play with the sax and play some parts. if you want this Instrument for major goals, think about buying something better.
Startone for starters
We are more than happy with the Startone SAS-75 Alto Saxophone for beginners, what I purchased a few years ago. It is a really beautiful instrument with brass body and keys and has a right intonation. The sound is great for this price category, smooth, clear and warm. I think it is better to change the original reed to a thinner one, instead of size 2,5 to 1,5 for example. Its responsiveness is fast and easy with a suitable reed and mouthpiece. Beginners can get the first true tones out of it after some lessons and experiments. The rod system works fine and is smooth-running and the whole instrument has a flawless finish. I am glad playing this excellent sax. In my view this sax is one of the best for this price on the market.
Starter sax
I am a musician. I am NOT a sax player. I bought this for a grandson who has behavioural difficulties and who keeps breaking clarinets, so I thought to change him to as sax as being more robust. Plus it is an instrument whose sexy tones I like. SO.. I don't have the expertise to judge this instrument properly. I can certainly get a tune out of it, and I think that, for a cheap instrument it has a remarkably good finish. For a playable instrument it is remarkably good value for money!
