Startone SAS-75 Alto Sax Reviews
Good for beginners
I bought this for my student, it good for beginners.
Pretty decent sax for only â¬300
I've had this sax for 9 months now and it plays pretty well. Did lessons and even my teacher commented that it was a pretty decent sax for such a low price. The mouth piece, reeds, and neck strap that it comes with are really bad but easy enough to replace. I did have a big problem with it at the start as the g# key was out of alignment and leaking air (not sure how it all the mechanics work), but i took it for repairs an its worked fine since. As well as the keys the cork on the bottom of the pads were pretty bad. They started falling off and had to replace them. I've recommended this sax before to friends who weren't willing to shell out tons of money on an entry level sax.
Very good for beginners
Bought this at my professor s advice and I still use it after a year and a half. The g sharp key moved a but in time but it s easily repairable by tightening a screw. The mouthpiece must be replaced with a better one to make the most out pf the instrument

Awesome saxophone for that price...
Quality
Bought this for my son and he loves it..
Valued for money
It’s been five years now that my son uses the specific saxophone. It was a good transaction and valued for money.
Good instrument for getting you started.
The title says it all. I am not disapointed. It really gets you started and you'll be happy you didn't start off with a very expensive instrument. Who does that? You start easy and if it pays off, you go to the next level instrument. This one is ok for it's price range! Not amazing, not bad. It's just good.
Good instrument for this price!
A perfect sax for beginners and advanced players
Great!!!
After all these years (9) still plays and sounds great!!
Very durable
I wasn’t sure what to expect but this alto had turned out worth more than the price. It’s sound is excellent.
When Itell the price the listeners say waow it sounds like thousands.I am checking to buy silver of same.I plan to take it to the jewelers shop to have my initials engraved on it
The cheapiest saxophone on the market! Sound's perfect! My teacher couldn't believe is it so cheap, when hearded sound of this horn! We compared sound with Yamaha YAS 280 and there is very small diference! For beginners it is perfect choice!
Excellent saxophone for a beginner !
If you are curious to try what a saxophone feels like , and want to play for fun , this instrument does an excellent job. Very good for beginner students and for those who want to start playing sax without spending a ton of money.
Impressed
First of all we must clear that this is a Student Saxophone.
My first impression taking it out of the box was, ok that looks good. Let's see how it plays.
This little fella blew me away. That's a nice investment.
For beginners this is the ultimate instrument. Looks like it can take some bangs and if you brake it, well, get another one.
Intonation was surprisingly spot on.
The neck was a bit tough to put on but that is a small price to pay I guess.
Keywork is not bad. For tiny hands only the low right hand pinky keys are a bit of a stretch to hit but still manageable.
The Gigbag is also a decent one. Wouldn't use it for an expensive instrument, but still a nice work. Inside it does not have storage space than for a neck and a mouthpiece. It has a small zipper pocket on the outside big enough for the usual stuff needed.
After my first test play, had to repair the G# key. The mechanism that pushes the key down was in the plastic bag and not where it was supposed to be, on the instrument!
I guess I should give to quality one star less, but still my first impression was very good. So I leave it to five stars.
For an instrument that is cheaper than my alto case I have to say I am impressed.
Save your money and buy a proper student sax
I had to bring it 3 times to the repair shop for it to work properly, until it ceased to, again.
The only positive about it is that I consolidated my love for the sax. The sound is decent when it works, but for that price you can't expect more, I suppose...
The price is misleading, though since what you don't pay upfront you'll have to pay later (very soon) in repair, proper padding and such. Save your money and buy a Jupiter or Yamaha.
Reasonable price
For the money I spent to the instrument, it is pretty good.
Good Saxophone for the price
I'm a beginner Sax player so I decided to buy a very cheap Saxophone. Although it's a cheap Saxophone it has worked perfectly for me to learn how to play with a Saxophone.
I advise it for a begginer Saxophone player who doesn't want to spend too much money on a Sax for to know if he likes it.
Excelent for 1st Saxofone
This saxophone was at an excelent price. As a first instrument, it fullfills all the initials objectives.
Startone SAS-75 Alto Saxophone
This is my first saxophone. So I can't say how good it is as a musical instrument. This will be known later. But the sound is there, the keys are pressed. The saxophone is brand new. The order was received in full. Very pleasantly surprised by the presence of additional accessories: 3 reeds and material for wiping. Over time, only need to buy a stand. For a beginner, this combination of price and quality is perfect. I'm happy.
Great for beginners, but questionable quality
After years not playing decided to order this budget Saxophone. The sound is fine, the mouthpiece is not top quality but works. If you have never played before this is a great instrument to start playing. However, if you have already played before you might consider investing in a higher price range saxophone. The pearl buttons fell off, I could glue them but after 3 I was afraid the quality wouldn't last a few years.
Great as a second instrument or to find out if the saxophone is something for you!
Play in tune to f-sharp3. Good product.
