Steinberg UR22C 5-stars Reviews
Can't be beat at that price point
The only problem I have with the unit is that only one input is HI-Z but otherwise it's solid
So value
i use this card for 2 years and i never had a problem! I recommend it to anyone who needs something like this
Good quality and good software included.
I have to admit that I chose this sound card because it included my beloved Cubase in the price.
But I now I'm delighted with the quality and some other features:
- I can use it without connecting it to a computer, using it as a headphone amplifier.
- The power source selector (USB-C / Old USB) is useful as power switch.
- 1 Hi-Z input for better electric guitar and bass recording (I never record two simultaneous inputs)
Steinberg UR22C
I am professional sound designer, with over 30 years of experience of recording sound from tapes to digital. Steinberg is Steinberg. Very good card for a price range.
Great product, slightly buggy software.
Great product for the price, basically sounds the same as the audient stuff but has a quality built-in DSP. Had a bit of an issue with a bad firmware flash, but was fixed with wiping out everything and a fresh install to reflash the device. A few things could be better though, like a mute switch for the line outs. Otherwise great product, software is just a tad illogical.
32 bits is the future
Talking about what's really important in the digital world, 32 bits give me more headroom for my DAW. I was dumbfounded that still other audio interfaces were working with 24 bits in 2022. Keep up the good work, Steinberg!
Everything i wished for
I searched for a interface after having problems with a focusrite interface for years. on my search i found the UR22C and was immediately impressed by the design aswell as functions. definitely better drivers and software (overall control) than the focusrite devices
You can't go wrong about this audio interface!
I needed so badly an audio interface for my mice and guitar, to record my acoustic versions of my songs. I had the MKII before that was a very great choice for a solo artist, then i decided to get the new version, which is greater for my record. Now i go live sometimes in twitch, some other times i can record my solo guitars on a go, or when i go to the mountains for inspiration. It's just perfect little device that i can do what i have to do.

Great USB C Audio Interface
Need a high quality Audio interface with a USB C connection, this is your solution. The on board DSP functionality is limited but certainly has it’s uses.
Lovely piece of hardware
I did a lot of research before getting an audio interface, and settled on this on: great decision :)
From the build quality to the specs, this unit is pretty impressive and is super easy to set up - and it can work from a powerbank as well!
I know that there are other appealing interfaces out there, but I will always recommend this one.
Plug and play.
This device is as simple as you’ll get if you’re not particularly computer-savvy like me. I need plug and play, no complication, and UR-22C pretty much gives you that. Registering it isn’t the most straightforward thing I’ve done in life, but with a bit of patience you’ll do that successfully too if you’re anything like me.
I use it 98% for listening music, occasionally I plug my guitar or microphone into it, and it does the job decently. Vocals are ok with basic effects (all you need is reverb), guitar modeling is not good, but if you’re too lazy to plug into a real amp, this will do.
For me personally, the most convenient device
I have been using this device for more than a year and it is very convenient, with high-quality sound. I use it in conjunction with Rode Nt1-a. The quality for your money is more than satisfied. Never failed.
Thanks, everything is fine. Responsive support.
Steinberg UR22C
I was looking for an Audio Interface to play through guitar plugins. I was choosing between Steniberg UR22C and Focusrite 2i2 3gen. Decided to buy this one, as it has midi , a rotary knob to mix DAW or dry input instead of a button on focusrite, and also "famous" Yamaha preamps.
To be honest I dont use midi or this mix rotary knob and cant hear a difference between yamaha and other preamps. Additionally, it's two times heavier than Focusrite. SO if I had to choose now - I would personally buy Focuserite 2i2.
Wonderful Audio Interface
For a long time I chose between Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen and Steinberg UR22. Still, I chose the Steinberg UR22. This is a wonderful Audio Interface that contains everything you need to make music with pleasure. The first impressions of using it are very good! Great sound, great functionality, great design. I am very happy with the purchase.
Solid brick with good audio features
This is my first USB audio interface. Previously I used Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy RX.
Pros
-Good sound (compared to old card)
-Drives my ATH-M50 headphones without separate amp
-Solid metal case
-Knobs feel good and smooth
-HI-Z works great with guitar
-Works on USB power alone
-XLR and Jack combo ports
Cons
-USB cable is really short and Type C part doesn't feel snug and moves a little. (If you get lag after connecting everything up, try different port on the computer)
-Front headphone port moves inside chassis a bit but the connection itself is good.
-Only 2 jack outputs. No XLR
-Microphone can only be connected with XLR (I tried my old 3.5mm mic with 6.3 adapter and it didn't work but I bought it for guitar anyways)
-Metal edges might cut you if you really wanted but should not cut by accident
-Chrome did not trust the driver download page.
pretty great to go with the ipad pro
I got this to record on the go with the ipad pro, it's pretty straightforward usage with great quality to show for it. Comes along with a basic cubase version that will need an upgrade if you're looking for better DAW usage.
Overall amazing value and been using this no problems for three months so far.
It seems sturdy, does it job
It functions well, use it on my MBP and VPC 1
I have no complains about the product, it has a good build and it works just fine at least in Win10, just made the normal updates when I started to use the device and so far no issues with drivers or sudden crashes.
Regarding Headphone jack, it is worth noticing that if you have a high impedance headphone it will be better to buy a headphone amplifier, as this device does not amplify the signal
