Great sound!

HD 669 delivers natural and excellent balanced sound, presenting the crystal clarity and high resolution demaned by professional users.These have over size ear cups so cut out A LOT of back round noise as my pc is in my lounge where my wife watches the television. I find them comfortable even while wearing glasses and the build quality is very good toö.Nice sound quality for such small price! They are quite big,but I bought them for in house use. You get a 1m cord and 3m as well as an adapter socket for hifi etc.These headphones are fabulous at cancelling out the outside world, and leak very little sound.I bought these for home recording (mainly acoustic folk music) and they are superb headphones that are easily the best ive ever owned, as soon as I out them on the sound was so perfect. They knock the socks of other headphones costing much more.Great deal!

Excellent for the price

this headphones are really good for the price, you can not compare it with a professional headphones but this are excellent for cheaper range. the only problem is that when you equalize if you put to much of any frequency range the others frequencies drop their volume, so you have to be very delicate equalizing to have a good result. 9 for listening music for that problem. and for studio just for reference but not recommended for mixing

Awesome sound! but my head hurts.

I really like these phones, but the reason why I bought these was not the reason why I will keep these.

The headphones have a really clear sound, and according to my friend who also uses these. The phones have a straight EQ curve. (with my own EQ settings) The bass is huge. The mids are okay, The treble is okay, but a bit too much for me.

The phones are big, over the ears, huge. They look a bit weird when they are on you, but if you don't care how you look, that really doesn't matter.

These will not break on you, like seriously these are built to last. You don't have to worry about breaking these when you take them off of your head, unlike with some other headphones.

I bought these headphones, so I could have massive amount of quality while on the buss for example. These do deliver in the sound department, but not in the portability. They are a bit heavy and a bit un-comfy. You need to let these morph to your head until they become comfy.

They are really big, so be aware of that! And whilst these are on your head they are borderline UGLY!

I still do recommend these, because if you want big headphones that have good quality for dirt cheap. These are just meant for that.

The best headphones for the price

The sound is the best you could ever expect from this price, comfort as well. The build quality seems very plastic, but still sturdy and strong. I would definitely recommend these to anyone, just note that they are quite big and so they may not be the most portable headphones...

Superlux HD-669 - amazing value.

Like I said in other review of the Superlux HD-660's - I bought these Superlux HD-669's to replace a pair of much loved Sennheiser HD-25's that finally died after ten years of heavy use. The Superlux HD-669's were recommended on a few websites (headfi.org was one of them I think) that said these headphones were basically unsung heroes and were punching well above their weight.

I took the chance and bought these, not expecting them to match the €300ish pair of Sennheiser's but figuring they could come in useful anyway. They are more than useful - I love them. The low end is enveloping and the mids/highs are as detailed and clear as I could want.

Like the HD-660's their downside is their size and poor noise isolation, but to me these are non-issues really. As a testament to them, I recommended them to an engineer friend (who now heads a sound department on a major US tv show and he could not believe the sound. He then asked a producer friend, with some big projects to his name, to mix something with them, without showing them what they were and he who loved them - and that was before he knew the price.

So in short - don't look elsewhere if size and isolation aren't a concern. Quality all round.
