Superlux HD-681 B 4-stars Reviews
Nice product
Can't spend more than hour in them. But every thing is solid and good sounding for that money
Perfect for drummers.
Bought this for drum recording and works perfectly for that purpose. Decently built and comfortable on the ear. Can be on the low side when plugged into a phone but fine with enough volume control. Not much low end. The strap on top is plastic and not what I expected. All round good as a monitor
Great budget headphones
Borrowed these from a friend due to my old ones breaking … kept them for months and now had to buy my own .. great cheap headphones .. amazing they are this price
pretty good
GOod sound and quite comfortable - they do (like all HF) show wear pretty quickly but that seems to be normal for modestly priced headphones. Still working however after a year -
Affordable studio headphones
These were purchased to be used as monitoring whilst recording drums, specifically for the drummer.
No frills with these headphones, but zero complaints from said drummer. They could hear exactly what was required and their takes were not impacted.
I will buy more!
Great quality for the price. Make sure to get more comfy pads for them.
Very happy
Only had these a couple of weeks, but so far, I'm very happy with them, comfortable, with a good sound. My AKG 'phones are probably better, but they are also more than twice the price of these. If you're looking for a pair of everyday headphones, to wear out and about, or while working, these could be them.
Great value for money
Bought these to replace my Grado S80e as they were a bit too bass-light for my needs. Wanted something balanced for monitoring. These do the job nicely and are super cheap so I can't fault them for that. I will upgrade them for something more expensive at some point but will probably hold onto them as a back-up pair.
K 240 clone. Lower grade materials, lower wearing comfort, definitely not a studio reference sound...
However...at this price point you can afford to buy 10 pairs for monitoring purposes. They whitstand everyday studio abuse surprisingly well. All in all excellent price/performance ratio.
good
good quality for the price
No fuss, decent monitor headphones
I was surprised at the quality of these, and they give a decent honest sound. Ideal for monitoring, but I aslo use them for my old school CD walkman.
Great for the price
Good sound and not too loud which is good for your ears. Very comfortable on the head and surprisingly good espescially for the cheap price. Good quality cable and its a bonus that it comes with the 1/4 inch jack. The carry bag is ok but it would be awkward to get the headphones to fit inside it but hey thats a minor complaint.
nice headphones
using them in studio. good quality for the price range.
Considering the price I am happy overall with the performance of these studio headphones. I live in an apartment and can end up playing bass guitar in the early hours of the morning and therefore I mainly use these headphones to practice quietly. I find that they handle the lower frequencies quite well, especially when I am using fuzz pedals or distorted bass effects.
They are also quite capable for mixing, even when there is a range of instruments being recorded and played back at once.
However, when wearing these particular headphones in the studio for an extended period of time, they can get quite uncomfortable around the ears.
High price-performance ratio
I own a Beyerdynamic DT-880 (250 Ohm) and orded this one for a member of my family.
For this low-price it's pretty amazing how this headphone performs. The sound of the "B" version of the HD-681 offers an almost balanced sound. I liked it way more than the "EVO" version, it's more comparable to the DT-880 I own.
The comfort is quite okay for a short amount of time, but it would get annoying after more than 1 hour (because of the plastic feel of the ear pads and warm ears). To improve this, I'd recommend to buy different earpads, e.g. the AKG K240/241/270/271 or SHURE SRH 940 velour ear pads.
The quality is "okay" for that price, the headphones look cheap but they will do their job at home.
All in all I'd recommened these one over any <100¤ headphone I know.
Superlux HD-681 B
i use them for mixing, they are pretty decent with great value for money ratio
pros: value for money
cons: none for the price
i would suggest them easily
Superlux HD-681 B
Very good headphones for a very low price! These headphones are very comfortable to wear for multiple hours and the sound is nice. I use these headphones mostly when I play bass through USB-audiointerfaces (and in my opinion they work very well for that purpose). In addition, these headphones were considerably better than my 80? Shure -headphones (which seem to have poorer sound quality and start to hurt ears after using them for more than an hour).
The first pair I bought lasted for almost two years after which the cable started to have some issues (I probably rolled over it with my chair for a million times). My second pair has lasted that long already since I've been a little more careful with their handling. Next time I will probably buy the version with the switchable cable (HD-681 Evo).
Good Headphones for the price
These headphones have a lovely sound quality for the price. They're used in a radio studio environment and are a prefect balance between quality and price, as we often have to replace physically broken headphones each season due to 24h hard use.
Would recommend!
Superlux HD 681 Dynamic Semi-Open Headphones
These headphones have been talked about in various places across the web for the past couple of years. Why? Because they are cheap, and sound great.I purchased the SuperLux HD 681's after reading many reviews and looking for an entry-level Hi-Fi headphone. I am not an audiophile, but these headphones have plenty of bass, even when driven with my old HTC mobile phone. The HD 681's are quite comfortable on my head because of the AKG-like suspended headband, and the ear pads/cups are very large and don't push on my ears enough to cause discomfort, even while wearing glasses. Sound quality on the HD 681's is good - great bass response, but the mids & highs could be sharper. These headphones are built quite nicely and feel very sturdy. However, I can't resist mentioning that they look a little cheap and plasticky (compared to the AKGs that they reflect).
Overall these are a great value, great sound and pretty comfortable after the foam shapes to your head a bit.
Picky headphones
I have AKG's too, but wanted to get something cheaper since my kids like headphones too. I got these and I like the sound quality. Build quality is good. They do make my ears sweat a bit and I have to position the headphones on my head with precision.. There is a small zone of best sound.. if the headphones move a bit, the sound gets muffled. Got my moneys worth.
