Superlux HD-681 4-stars Reviews
great for listening, great for tracking, good for mixing.
As we know headphones are not for mixing but they do help
mixing with the guitars and drums and pianos.
Lows and mids and highs are loud and great quality.
Really do recommend it for starters who wants to get their first headphones.
Comfortable, light, but hurts your head after 3 to 4 hours.
But on other hand everything is smooth and great.
Really comfy and good sound
Was quite impressed with these for the money. The are really nice and comfortable and come with a small bag to store them in. They sound really good and have a nice warm tone. They handle higher volumes well and for the price, I do not think you can not go wrong with these!
Good Headphone
I got these headphone to have a spare set to have around but ended up using them for most of the time until top quality ones were needed. The lead on these headphone is not absurdly long which is exactly what I was looking for because I keep breaking the longer ones by mistake. The cable is good quality and the 1/8" mm jack to 1/4" jack connector is screwed on. They are very comfortable to wear and are a quality build. The build quality is a lot better than headphone I have previously spent ?100+ on. These headphone sound very good and come in a nice case to carry them around. I would recommend these headphones to anyone
Good headphones
I use these headphones for my home studio and they do their job very well.
The sound is good.
The confort is not perfect but still ok to keep it few hours at once.
Superlux HD681
I have had these 'cans' for 4 years now and i find them very very good. I have used them at home and in the studio and the fidelity of sound (especially as a bass player) is very good. Comfortable to wear and light weight they can be used for many hours without discomfort. Highly recommended.
good value
the hd681b is more of my sound but these are preferred by my wife. these have considerable more "boom" than the 681b so if you want to rattle your brains these will help. I found the bass to be a bit too unfocused for me though. still, an insane value at 20
Perfect for the price
Like them alot. Good sound quality for non advance musik recording. Price worthy :)
Best cheap ones!
If you need a good cheap set of headphones, this is it. They sound pretty great and are quite good when both playing low volume as well as on high volume. Get a pair!
Superlux HD681
I bought these for silent practicing in the house, as im a bassist I needed something that handled the lower frequencies without breaking up and distorting. These phones do the job quite well, they bleed a bit of noise out of them as i found out when i woke the wife at 2 am (sorry :-) ) but they do sound quite good considering the cost, ok theyre never going to set the headphone world alight but for the money theyre pretty reasonable, would i buy another pair....yes i would cause the sound is pretty clear and thats all you want from `phones really.

Star scores are based on the price range.
Obviously there are better ones out there but not anywhere near this price!
These are great budget units that have a good full range response and I don't see them as being overly harsh in the high freqs are others have reported. I mixed some recording with these the other day and the results sound very similar through a good quality hifi system.
Lightweight, comfortable with plenty of adjustment, I used them for a 3 hour session and had no problems with comfort. Seem pretty well built but only time will tell I guess.
For the money totally recommended, don't be put off by the price or 'brand name'
Suprised
I am suprised with this product quality. I compared my AKG K271 and Superlux headphones. Theres are some diffrence about features but the sound is almost same. I dont recommend those headphones to bass players or drummers. For rehearsal is these headphones good quality and value.
great budget studio headphones
Excellent sound-quality, with plenty of drive and power. And all for less than £20!
Pro's: Cost, Loudness, 2 metre cable.
Cons: Not closed back (recording) spillage, bass has a slight plastic resonance
HD681
I don't like to mix a track on headphones. I use them to test, control the mix I made as I do it on any device that plays music. And they did their job.
the red is different as in the picture
the red doesn't look as nice as in the pictures. its much more brighter. the quality is ok for the price. but the cable seems a bit thin. but it works for me since 2 months.
Good sound for a good price
I bought the Superlux HD681 for listening having two headphones to listen to music with friends. My first pair is the Beyerdynamics DT-990 Pro.
Sound
Sure the Superlux ones don't sound as good as the Beyerdynamics ones but they do the job.
Comfort
I have to say that I don't find these headphones comfortable but they are wearable. Just don't expect them to wear like much more expensive headphones.
Quality
The Superlux feel a bit cheap and will probably not last very long if you don't treat them with caution. The cable is ok but the plastic doesn't look very sturdy.
If you want a cheap pair of headphones then buy them but dont expect any miracles. You get what you pay for.
Cheap but good
The Superlux HD I bought to practice even at low volumes can . Especially in the evening and on Sunday . I did not want to disturb my neighbors continue . ICh the headphones have connected to a Roland Boss BR 80 multi effects unit . I play bass and guitar.
I am very happy with the sound of the headphones provides . Especially when you consider what the headphones will cost .
Of course, the heights come out not always ideal. At high frequencies arises with the headphones a distortion which is not very nice. This, however, only at high volume. In the bass range , the bass is very clear. However, the headphones also has problems here when it gets louder . Then the bass muddy easily . The centers are the headphones in my opinion the best.
So I recommend the headphones especially for guitarists . For bassists with swabs.
Processing proceeds in order. It expresses nothing . However, the bar is really not very stable. I'm curious how long the headphones work.
Good set of cans
I bought these for recording and mixing at home on a very tight budget. I saw a few other reviews and decided to take the plunge as, let's face it, the price takes some beating.
For monitoring these do a nice job. Every sound is easy to pick out and adjust. I listened to a few of my old recordings done on some cheap hi-fi headphones and the difference was unreal! These are now a very valuable tool when recording and mixing my own stuff (now I just need a bit of talent!).
Overall I would highly recommend these if you're on a budget. If you spend more you can do better, but at the price/performance ratio on these are undeniable.
Value for the money
This clearly looks like a copy of a more expensive AKG and I would say, for general purposes (excluding mixing, which on headphones is always a challenge anyways) you cannot beat the price ratio value. I've had mine for 4 years now and still works perfectly well. If I have to point one thing out, it is a bit too heavy on bass frequencies so never use this for anything else than youtube listening, gaming, tracking.
Superlux HD681
Very impressive looking, large and well put together, anyone would think they're a more expensive model. Sound is very crisp and clear, volume won't win any awards as they're semi-open but still a great buy. Long lead and 1/4 inch screw-on adaptor included.
Great Value
I needed additional headphone in my project studio and didnt want to spend a fortune on extra headphones for tracking. I decided to give these a go and was pleasantly surprised, really good quality and highly recommended!
