Superlux HD-681 4-stars Reviews
Great headset overall headset for music but quite uncomfortable
The sound quality is really good. I have had no crackles or static while using them. However the comfort is not the best. It is not meant for prolonged use and maybe a few hours at most at a time before it starts to hurt
Ok for a price
Sound seems ok. Build quality is where they cut the cost.
Great for the price
Being used to AKG headphones (K240 and currently K271), my wife wanted closed headphones to be worn for an extended time to replace her Sennheiser H201. These look like blatant copies of the AKG design so I thought they might be comfortable — and they are. Plus, for the price the sound reproduction is great. So far they have been reliable, having been tripped over several times and still working fine. She much prefers these phones over the H201, both in comfort and sound.
Buy this !!!
I got introduced to this brand through a site which professionally reviews headphones. Headphones from 10$ up to the 1000's of $$$.
Intrigued by their positive review, especially their opinion of the sound quality / fidelity, I decided to purchase a whole set of them.
4 of this exact type, two more of other types of the same brand.
And I was really blown away : the HD-681's produce a sound quality that is unheard of at this price level. Or at 5 times the price.
I'm talking about neutral sound, something you can trust, not one that will give you the highest "kick" when listening to Dub or other genres, but something that translates very well anything you throw at it.
A bit like a cheap Sennheiser 600/650 - which of course plays in premiere league .
3 of them went to my kids, to learn to listen to music as it was recorded, instead of getting hyped sound out of "fancy" brands (where 50% of the budget goes to the "artist who developed the product line") ...
Negative : build quality - don't just throw them into your bag !!
Positive : replaceable ear cushions (two sets provided), replaceable cables (multiple lengths provided) --- did I mention "Sound Quality" ?
Great neutral sound
Great neutral sound for a great price, but not the most comfortable headphones.
Good if you are on a budget
These came together with the electric drumset. I used them for a little while but was not satisfied with the sound and comfort, because before I had much more expensive headphones. If we are considering the price point then they are really good and I would recommend these for a beginner player.
Good product for the price
Good product for its cheap price.
Convenient, not so high quality, but the price is cheap
pretty good for this price
I have used this for a couple of years now, not always extensively but regularly. they are very comfortable and the sound is good especially if you are a beginner and you have no comparison. We used it for recording and it was just fine. In the meantime one of the earpieces fell off. I glued it back on and it still works!
Great
The sound is really good for this price. It is comfortable, but slightly big, so it's not easy to carry around, because it occupies a lot of place. If you need it in one place, then it's super.
Fair Trade
A good choice for everyday use. Good construction and good plastic parts. Value for money choice.
Very good value Headphones
Sound bigger than their price point. Recommended!
Good quality for the price and like with all Superlux product you should not be disappointed at all.
Very good for cost
The only downside is it's uncomfortable to wear with glasses for long periods of time
Good headphones
Decent product for mobile music production
Excellent for the price!
I bought these headphones to use them at home or a quiet outdoors place. The sound is amazing. The only slight downside is that they are not that comfortable for long listening sessions, above 1.5/2 hours. But that reminds me to take a break so all is good!
vfm
For this money its the best option
Good
Good headphone, feels a bit cheap but that is to be expected for the price.
Good for the price
Look they're cheap headphones so there's not much to say, they work, there's a good sound i've had no problem with them and i've used them over two years. I only use them now and then when recording, but i would imagine if you're picky about sound spend more money on headphones. But if you're me , then youll be happy
Decent affordable open headphones
Pros:
-Affordable
-Decent quality, doesnt feel as cheap as the price would suggest
-Pretty flat sounding
Cons:
-High frequencies are not very defined
-Cable not removable
I got these headphones as a backup and to try out what open headphones have to offer as I've only used closedbacks before. I mainly used it for gaming and for silently practicing guitar and for those purposes these headphones are great. Sound is decent, its fairly flat, not too much bass and not very bright either, nicely balanced. The soundstage (stereo separation) is great, not perfect but definately usable for most situations, especially if you are on a budget. Comfort is not the greatest but I can wear it for an hour or two without discomfort so its not too bad. The padding is very stiff but the clamping force on your ears is not that strong so it cancels out. You dont need a good seal for open headphones afterall...
If you are on a limited budget I can highly recommend these headphones. They sound flat enough for basic mixing and the open design also helps a lot.
However... I can't recommend these headphones for outside or public use because of its open design.
Also if you are lookign for a very high quality professional monitor then I recommend you spend a bit more money...
A good price-quality product
The sound is not spectacular, but for the price we can't expect more.
Superlux HD-681 has a solid structure and the cable is long enough.
A good price-quality product. I'm happy
