Superlux MS 200 5-stars Reviews
A steal!
In my opinion, at this price, these stands are a hidden gem, when you consider their robustness, features and weight capacity, compared to equivalent stands costing many times more.
And they really deliver: I've had two heavy mics loaded on a stereo bar, placed about 3 meters up for a big choir; or with the boom in a horizontal position perched far over a drumkit; I also placed HEAVY (6kg) lighting fixtures (no boom) with a TVMP adapter; and in each case I was never worried about them moving (and move they did not!) But for extra peace of mind, it even includes a counterweight which you can slide along the boom.
It's always important when placing heavy loads on any stand to make sure you completely loosen the clutch, even to make minor adjustments, to avoid wearing out the washers prematurely.
Brilliant and Amazing Value
I've used it many times. It is cheap but very well made and the alternatives are way more expensive. Don't be fooled by the price, it's extremely good. I use it to get main recording pair way up there. Had mine 10 years and it's been on many professional recording sessions.
Big and Heavy
This is an awesome value for money! Heavy, big, stable. I'm using it to hold drum overhead mic in the studio and it's great for that purpose. Of course, it's not very portable, but for studio use, it's just great. The quality is very good, I don't see any flaws in the materials used or build, feels pretty solid. Highly recommended!
Very nice, heavy and robust construction!
Cost effective high rise stand.
We used it to hold a heavy microphone. Worked well.
Incredible Value!
I can't say enough good things about these stands. The pictures and description don't quite capture how big and heavy these things are. I've got a fairly large studio with a 5m high ceiling and I'm yet to find a position these stands won't manage.
I originally ordered 2 but I think its time for an extra pair as these are brilliant for heavy mics. When you've got thousands of £££ worth of mics its really not worth the risk using flimsy stands. A great alternative to the £200+ K&M stands
Perfect quality
Use
I use this standard for different mics. For example my t-bone sct 2000.
Clarity
This is a large mic stand very stable.
pros & cons
- pro large
- pro stable
- con difficult to handle
Comprehensibility
In my opinion this is a perfect stand but you will need the room for it.
Heavy duty stand - wow.
I use two of these for overheads for my drums and they are great - very heavy and super strong - I can place the stands well out of the way of the drums because they extend so far and that helps with other mic placements and adjusting drums without disturbing the overheads positions. Probably the best stands I have in my studio. The price is so inexpensive for these stands ... I was surprised at the quality and sturdiness of these for how much I paid.
Insane value
I bought 2 of these for studio use, and they're ridiculously impressive. The legs get very wide, the boom reach is extremely long, the counter-weight works perfectly. The stand had no problem steadily holding a Sony C800 almost fully stretched out. Couldn't ask for more, especially for the price.
A top quality mic boom stand
This is a top quality heavy duty stand, no doubt about it.
Excellent build quality, all the hand screws feel very secure and the base and counter-weight heavy enough for weighty mics like a U-47 and the like.
Really satisfied, especially for the price!
Solid stands
This is a a heavy, stady and solid stands. For it cost its a gift!!!
Very high and stable stand
I bought this mic stand about 5 years ago. The purpose was to record overall sound of orchestras, choirs as well as organ since I record mostly academic / classical music.
This stand meets my needs - it is more than 5 m high so it "looks" to orchestra or other group of musicians from above giving me possibility to take overall sound. When recording organs it gives me possibilty to try to reach best place to put a mics, althought in this case 5 m often is to small :)
Up to now all the screws works well.
Bad thing is that even folded it takes a lot of space and hardly fits in my Golf that carries all my equipment for on-location recording.
So if you need really high stand - buy this.
I bought this stand to hold 2 overhead microphones for my acoustic drumset.
I was very impressed, for several reasons:
- the package is huge and heavy
- the stand itself is far larger than I expected
- the build quality is excellent
- it is very stable
- its price doesn't reflect its quality, positively. It's inexpensive but definitely not cheap
I think the arm can be extended up to like 2 meters, without compromising the stability. Before this, I used a regular and inexpensive mic stand, which was very unstable (for obvious reasons).
Solid & great value
Bought a pair of these. They have a matt finish and feel solid. The boom assembly is welded to the upright so as far as I can tell non-removeable. Comes with a counterweight and a single safety "pin". The boom extends to about 2m and the upright is around 3m. With the usual precautions - don't over-extend, or try to support anything really heavy - this stand is a good buy at less than the cost of the boom alone of some other makes.
Best price
Best OH stand for the price, it's realsturdy and easy adjustable.
Excellent overhead stands!
These stands are great. Hefty and sturdy. Your boom won't collapse by weight with these stands for sure. You can use them to hang your overhead mics from or to drape curtain or duvets over to tame room acoustics. Excellent items for the price!
If you don't have one you're no one.
Insane value for the money, and I have yet to find out why all the other stands cost so much. Seriously, buy it.
great but heavy
Good stand, great price.
I use it with t-bar for stereo recordings.
The stand is big and sturdy, the biggest mic stand I ever saw. Also very heavy.
Very good stand - quality feel
If you need a tall stand for choir/orchestra work, then this has a great feel about it.
Amongst other uses I plan to use it with my Zoom H6 and it will be very suitable for this. Very heavy so no topple effect!
Strong and tall
I bought this for recording choirs, brass bands, organs and the like, and it seems very robust, stable and well constructed - excellent value. I will keep the box to protect it - and the car as it is quite long when folded down. It is quite heavy but that adds to the stability and I don't mind carrying it.
