Very nice equipment for percussion

Good mic for the money!

I am pleasantly surprised, wasn't really expecting much for that price, but it works pretty well, I use it on a didgeridoo and once you get the levels set up right, it works pretty well and the sound is good for what I need. I have it routed into an effects pedal and it does a good job!

Dependable fixed mic

Gives confidence to move around freely without loss of signal quality or strength. A well engineered robust piece of kit that you will love to use.

great sax mic

i stayed away from a wireless setup for simplicity's sake. this mic does a great job, providing a clear and natural sound. great performance and value.

Excellent value..

I used it live for the first time with my tenor sax.. sounded excellent Far better than using a Shure SM57/58. Good for gigs. I used it wired XLR cable from the belt pack to the the mixing desk.

Secret weapon

We have several of these and love them. They're great on strings and I know of at least one company who uses them for large orchestral concerts, in fact they told me about them! Not DPA quality but not their prices either.

Pros: Work great on a variety of instruments. Easy clip-on. Solid build.

Cons: A bit bulky with the box.

Great sound for price

This is not a 2000¤ microphone, it is a 50¤ microphone for your woodwind instruments, has a great sound for the price you are paying and the quality is actually really good I rather use it for my trumpet then my microphone with phantom power on the stand, comes with a battery and a nice case so you can carry your mic to your gigs, has a really dark sound when used with a trumpet and a harmon mute,recommend

Superb self contained microphone - especially for saxophone!

For me and my needs, this mic was a better option than the t.Bone Ovid CC100 I returned to purchase this. Having the attached Clip, battery powered phantom power supply, case included, the thicker mic cable AND an equivalent sound quality, made this an easy decision to make. I play sax and use a battery amp that doesn't have phantom power, I had all sorts of permutations to try to achieve this with the Ovid - so, very glad I found it and quite by chance too.

I bought this mic thanks to a lead of my daughter's cello teacher. He use with the cello but we bought to use with classic guitar.

I like this microphone I heard that they are very good

Very good microphone for the price

I have been using three of these mounted on my accordion for about six years and they are still going strong. They have taken a lot of abuse over the years rolling around in the bottom of my accordion case. The packpack box is very sturdy, almost a little unnecessarily heavy though!

To the best of my knowledge the sound quality is very good and I haven't had too much problems with feedback.

The lead to the microphone capsule on one of my units needed top be resoldered after a few years but as I said, they were getting a lot of abuse.

The backpack has a mute switch which is very useful and doesn't pop when switched on. The battery life when not using phantom power is also extremely good. I usually use phantom power but I found that the batteries don't discharge if they're left in all the time so there was always battery power available for the gigs where I needed them.

If I had one criticism it would be that the battery covers are prone to breaking and then they won't stay on properly. They can be taped on but that's annoying if you need to change the battery in a hurry. This is only a cosmetic thing though as the batteries stay in perfectly well without the cover!

Good mic for saxophone

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of sound on this mic. Have tried it now on my Yanagisawa 902 curved soprano sax and my Yamaha Custom 82ZUL tenor sax, and I like it a lot!

I hope the cable will hold, as it seems to be the eventual week point of this package. Any ways....good value for money!

Versatile and awesome

I use this primarily for acoustic guitar and vocals in studio, and it works great for both. Attaching it to a guitar in a suitable way for live performace is a bit tricky, but sure enough, I've managed to do that too. Approved by a bunch of hardcore audiophiles I know.

I've used this clip on with my trumpet for around 6 years now and is brilliant, sounds good and easy to use

Superlux surprise

I was recommended to try these by a colleague who uses them for orchestral players. They are pretty sturdy little units and look very much like the AT model, in fact exactly so.

In use they work and sound very good on violin and cello, also solving many of the usual problems associated with mics on stands. I haven't tried them on anything else yet but they should be fine on a variety of instruments.

I'll probably buy a few more in the future!

Great mic

I have used this mic for every instrument in a string quartet, and for trumpet and sax at gigs, and every time it has sounded great. It is a very usable mic, with a warm and detailed sound. Far better than the ovid in my opinion.

For Flygelhorn

Really great little packadge. Everything a beguinner needs without spending a fortune on a microphone. I use it on my trumpets, Flygel and normal B trumpet. Surpricing good quality. Worried about bending the metal whire back after each gig so I do NOT to straighten it out. Fits perfectly in the case it comes with even if it is bent and ready to go on the next gig. Clip is ok but transferres valvesounds in to the microphone. Not really such a big deal when you play in a big band. I would not recommend it for single instrument recordings however because of that valve sound. I gave it 5 stars because price, qality for the money and the robust phantom box.
