Tannoy Reveal 402 5-stars Reviews
Great quality
Monitors pack a punch, clarity of sound great
Small package, big sound!
Love these units. Solid built with wide spectrum colourful sound. Very please with the purchase.
Small box, big sound
I was looking for a set of small front ported studio monitors for a while and after some reasearch settled on the Tannoy speakers. Tannoy have always tended to make very good studio monitors.
I have been using these in my office and studio for a while now and really like the sound of them. I find some speakers have a very bright sound and smaller drivers tend to lack depth. I find the Tannoys are farily neutral and flat (to my ears) and for a small cabinet have a good amount of low end.
Being 4inch cabs they do not take up a large amount of space which in smaller rooms is helpful.
I really like the protective done on the tweeter as it does protect it really well.
Very nice monitor for the price
I use them as a second monitor set up in my home studio (my main monitor is the KH120A) in order to double check my mixes on a more modest setup . I am very satisfied with the audio quality given the low price .Its clear with enough bass response and gives the impression of a more expensive monitor The construction quality is also excellent with a very nice design . If you are looking for a budget monitor then you should try these ones
Amazing for their size
Got those for almost 5 years now and got to admit my mixes sound much better in comparison to their big brothers. They are more balanced, they have very clear mids and because they are small they are ideal for a home studio setup. They are also quite loud. What is also very important is that I can mix for hours hours without them causing me any ear fatigue. Bear in mind that I mix some very heavy music like death metal with those. They are also a pleasure when listening to music.
Pros
The 3,5mm jack so that you can hook them up everywhere.
The balanced sound

Suitable for small rooms
Cons
For their price can’t find any really.
Incredible for the size and price
These monitors are surprisingly good for their size and price.
I use them for several purposes such as video editing on the go and casual music listening. The power and quality of the bass is uncommon on monitors of this size. The high range is in perfect accordance to the bigger brothers of this line (I also own the 802).
Excellent all round small monitor package.
I'm using the Tannoy 402 Reveal Monitors to connect directly to my 2015 MacBook Pro for Audio and all-round video editing and monitoring. The Reveal 402 has a four-inch bass/mid driver and a 0.75-inch tweeter, and the sense of stereo perspective is good, with a wide sweet spot. I use them in a small editing room, and this is where (IMO) they are best suited. In larger rooms or spaces they may struggle to make an impact.
I would have liked a little more volume from the speakers but given their size I think this is a fair trade-off. I use the TC Electronic level pilot to control the volume which I find works great with the speakers, as it is a physical volume dial it does introduce some interference when changing volume levels but I can live with this. Overall I am very happy with the investment. TH
Very good
I use them in a home studio and they are great for small spaces. It's not the perfect studio monitor but for the price you really can't expect (or find) any better. Clear sound, neutral, nice low for the size.
Simple speakers with great sound for home mixing. The only setback I find in them is that they tend to roll a bit too much on the mid-lows. Great value, still using them after years.
Excelent for the price
Very decent monitoring for a very decent price. I use it for home recording. It sounds very linear. No cons so far.
excellent
I'm not an expert on home studio gear and near field monitors, but from my perspective these are great
Clear. No apparent distortion or colouration. Good build quality (no loose or rattling parts). Weighty and solid.
Good features on the back panel.
They are small, so bass response isn't great, but that's to be expected with a monitor of this size.
Awesome Monitors!
I have owned these Tannoy Reveal 402 monitors for almost a year and they have provided me with sound I needed with no disappointments. I have used them as a part of Home Studio set-up connected with focusrite scarlet 6i6 to record and monitor my guitar and keyboards.
The sound is clear and loud enough for a small room studio, but when no sound is flowing you can still hear low noise coming out but it is nothing serious. These can also be used for other entertainment such as home cinema.
The price of these monitors are a great deal for the sound and the built quality.
Unexpectedly good!
I bought these as reference speakers for my KRKs. They turned out to be so good that I am actually using for mixing certain tracks or even watch movies. Perfect for A-Bing with the brighter KRKs, but they have a hi boost if you don't want them flat. Their low end is unexpected for their size, stereo image is pretty good and so is the clarity. There is a little tiny hum when they're on but I was never bothered much about it.
Great value for money, perfect for an average home studio, excellent purchase, would definitely recommend them.
Great article
Great monitor which does exactly what I needed it for and at a very reasonable cost. Would certainly consider purchasing again if I ever needed more.
402`s
I bought these because they are cheap !
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that are in fact also really good . I did not expect that sound and detail for such low price . Actual decent monitors for super cheap !
A lilttlebit boxy in the mids
Beautiful look, qualty feeling absolutely good sounf for making demos, fastmixes or cross checks...
It is small, so no one can waits professional lows or ultralows, but it is not bad at all! The sound of the pair is a littlebit boxy, but still very clear and well defined, well articulated. For the money it is a good choice. Never compare it to a Genelec for example, but those are fare not better than more expensive.
Good quality
I'm using these speakers with my Dual dtj 301 turntable. For it has a built-in pre-phono, I can connect directly to the active speakers.
These speakers are very good built, Good looking and solid. Don't be fooled about their dimension! They have a lot of volume!!
The sound quality is professional, you can feel it, very defined in every shape. The only bug is that in my system I can't equalise, so sometimes their powerful basses are quite prominent...
I think overall they are a very good product at a very good price! If you can equalise the sound they're perfect!

An excellent pair of monitors, blended into my desktop setup seamlessly
Very happy indeed with these pair of monitors

Totally recommended!
An excellent product for your first studio monitors, if you haven't that extra space for bigger 5" monitors or if you're just tight on budget. Tannoys have a solid structure, enough connections and frequency range suits well enough for my needs at least (guitar recording mainly). Also liked this bundle with TC electronics volume control.
Downsides could be the lack of headphone jack and front side power switch, but the latter can easily be corrected with a switch-socket, Tannoys are active anyway.
Oh and have seen some reviews complaining about hissing sound, guess there is SOME, if you put your ears considerably closer. But who listens to monitors that close.. no one! I really recommend to give these a shot.
Wow Tannoy Reveal 402
Simply put the size is disproportionate to the sound quality these monitors produce. Exceptional and highly useful I would recommend them to anyone you will be very pleased indeed.
