Great quality for an affordable price

These Tannoy Reveal 802 studio monitors give excellent quality for a very affordable price. They are very trustworthy in giving you a unmodified sound, which is what you want in a recording setting.

GREAT SPEAKERS FOR DRUM & BASS, EDM

These are a bit overlooked speakers I would say. They are EXCELENT though. They are very balanced over the whole spectrum, with reasonable focus on bass (but very accurate!!!!). They are front ported which is great for home studio.

BASS

I produce Drum/Bass and what many studio monitors lack is focus on bass frequencies which at the same time does not interfere with mids/highs. If you are into EDM (Drum/Bass, Techno, House, whatever), FORGET monitors with smaller then 8 inch woofers. They will never give you enough information about low end - so you produce bling regarding frequency which matters the most!

Bass response is spot on - if you overdo bass, they will bleed, if you have it right they will sound right - and your mix will translate well. You can tell the difference between right and too boomy mixes, you can spot muddiness right away and get rid of it. HS7 do not have bass at all - just mids..haha

MIDS - neutral and accurate. Identical accuracy as HS7 (I used both of them at the same time)

HIGHS - natural and accurate again, on par with HS7s again, but NOT fatigue HARSH!!!! Unlike HS7:-))

I RECOMMEND THEM

Amazing price quality ratio

I needed a pair of 8" front bass port monitors for my studio and went for this ones. The sound is warm and clear, bass is present but not forced.

I know one of the usual comments about this speaker is the noise but with some good quality cable it's almost gone ( still can notice it in a well acoustic treated room but it is by far tragic ).

Greta sound, very accurate.

Tannoy may be better known for their live sound speakers, but the studio monitors are brilliant.

Super accurate and no too bass of top end heavy. The mids are nice and defines and make mixing in smaller studios much easier.

People are often looking for the best cheap nearfield studio speakers, well I think the Tannoys are just that, I can't imagine changing them any time soon.

Perfect choice for home audio system

If you love acoustic music these monitors will give you clear and accurate sound.

Cons - If you wish to listen something more trendy, need pre-amp with equaliser to boost bass.

amazing monitors. clear and very true to my mixing. ear fatigue is no problem with those and they sound great for casual listening as well.

Couldn't ask for more

Great introduction to the world of studio equipment and a few really useful features that make them usable on a day to day basis.

Really easy to set up with a number of input options to suit your needs.

Nice

Did a lot of research before going for these.

I have run them with balanced and unbalenced leads, the unbalanced gives more volume.

The sound is good, i have used the audio link, which works well.

I have ran them from a mixing desk. a audio inerface, and straight from pedals.

The volume has never been over half way, the room is big, but that is more than enough.

I use these speakers to listen music and do synth jams in my livingroom. It does a great job! Sound is great. Super nice and round low end. Takes in a lot of db without distorting. Feels precise and flat in a good way.

And the amazing low price!

Great stuff.

Great monitors.

Wanted monitors to replace my old 5" monitors, to give me more bass, and did I get it. I read different reviews on different products and decided to go with Tannoy, and so happy I did. Great response from these and so clear.

I love these speakers

I got these speakers for my project studio to replace my Adam A7s. I found the A7s unreliable and when one of them stopped working for a second time I decided to get rid of them and move on. The Adam's have a very flat response which I sometimes found slightly unpleasant to listen to for long periods. I was not expecting the Reveals to be anywhere near as good as the Adams since they were a 1/3rd of the price, but boy was I surprised. They sound amazing: Crisp top end, warm mid and bass to die for.

They look great and are extremely well built. As soon as I set them up I noticed issues with my old recordings that I never noticed with the Adams, I'm sure my recordings will sound better going forward. Friends have commented on how good they sound, one of my mates is a bit of an audiophile and he was blown away by their performance at that price.

The icing on the cake is that unlike other studio monitors they're actually really good when listening to music just for pleasure, the stereo spread is noticeably cool and the bass is super tight, punchy and deep.

The mp3 input is handy and gets used a lot.

I could not be happier with these speakers, so much more than I was expecting for the price, I'll be using these for a long time.

Excellent

I've been using a pair of these monitors for months now extensively every day. I use them for mixing and for rehearsal as well. I can give sufficient headroom in a 180 m3 rehearsal space with both volume controls on approximately 4. The sound is crystal clear, and well balanced. I used the stereo patch cable form one monitor to link it to the other monitor, and the other patch cable to link it to my Tascam mixer. No noise whatsoever even with the volume past 50% on the mixer. The other thing which excels beside headroom, clarity and balance is the bass response, which is not lacking - like any other monitor in thus price range or below, Tannoy's smaller monitors included. I am a picky amateurs musician, but a 45+ years experienced audiophile. This pair of monitors can be used to listen hifi as well. Of course due to its flattish line of frequency response it won't enhance anything, so one has to have a good source to it. Obviously it won't replace a good pair of ears, so do not expect to be a professional mixer just because you've got a good pair of monitors. I surely would not go below this quality [as I've seen in lot of semi/professional studios] but also would not go above this bill range, which I would consider a waste of money.

Rockin sound

I have used Tannoy speakers for years... My precision 6d finally died and was looking for a replacement. These fit the bill perfectly. More bass, more open and natural sounding, overall great...

Fantastic

There is an incredible amount of 'bang for your buck' here

Pro's - unbelievable separation and clarity of placing, even frequency volume across the range, neutral bass and treble (may be a bit harsh for some, but it is just giving it as it is), brilliant bass, great connections both balanced and unbalanced, useful high and lo attenuation,

Con's: very slight hiss if not being used - but this is not noticeable once you start using it.

Used for: monitoring of soundscapes and music mixing; presentation of sound installations in small galleries.

I cannot recommend highly enough. Perfect for my needs.
