tc electronic Ditto X2 Looper 5-stars Reviews
Best Looper Money Can Buy
I have had this Looper for years now and I literally couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase. Tons of useful practices. The only drawback is that I wish the loop could be more than 5 minutes.
A great machine.
I find easy enough to pull a loop while actually performing a number (some do}.
The stereo is wasted on me, but for the effect people, it's a great addition. Reverse and....? are a bit silly. It sometimes freezes mid performances, but human ability easily overcomes this problem, unplug it for a couple of numbers (5 minutes) and it seems to recover, ready for use again.
Overall, a great machine to use.
Simply the best
The 2 buttons make it so much more easier to use. Highly recommend spending the extra few euros on this one. And its not that much bigger with stereo support. Built like a tank. Really like the save recording feature.
Simple and great unit
Easy to operate with basic features but totally worth the money. Build is very robust and interface is simple. Having 2 buttons is really a plus vs the double click mode of some other brands. I only wish it had slots to record many loops but for my usage is good enough.
works well, only limitation is the user, in my case me.
Inspirational looper
Straight-forward looper with simple but handy features. For texturing and background loop purposes the effects chosen for this pedal were bullseyes by TC Electronic and I've particularly been getting a lot of use out of the reverse. I was initially a bit wary about buying this after using solely Boss loopers previously but was pleasantly surprised by the Ditto X2. It's a great contender in its price range.
Simple, great sound and quality
This looper is very simple to work with. It does exactly what is supose to! It has great sound and its build very robust. I recommend it!
A truly amazing piece of equipment
I've purchased the Ditto x2 after using the Ditto and the Boss RC-3. What I can say is that by having a bigger box, the pedal is much more stable.
The fact that it can have a dedicated stop button makes its handling so much better. Having two switches makes the pedal easier to operate. Th extra effects are really cool. I use it for solo performances and they can give that extra 'Ohhhh' that sometimes lacks in solo stuff.
The only downside I see in this pedal is if you are already used to the original Ditto two-click stop (even though you can use it on the x2), this pedal is less "bang for your buck". The x2 is also bigger and heavier than the original, and that might be a problem for some people too.
I'm completely satisfied with the x2 and would buy again!
Easy to use and very usefull
This pedal is easy to use and it comes with great features.
One of them is storing loops to a computer and save them.
Best practice pedal ever
I love the fact that it has a dedicated stop pedal. It is a a simple pedal, you won't need a manual to start using it.
The recording of the loop is in excellent quality.
With pedal practicing becomes fun. It is also very useful in live settings.
Simple and elegant!
This looper pedal is very, very easy to use. I wanted something plain and simple, yet capable and Ditto X2 provides just this. Stereo inputs and outputs are a must, especially when you work with stereo effects and stereo synths and the sound is good. The loop effects are a nice bonus, although I don't use them as much as I thought I will. The main surprise was the ability to import backing tracks. This somehow slipped past me and I was not aware of this feature and for small gigs it's awesome to have a backing track right there in a pedal! How cool is that?! Very cool.
The built quality is top-notch and since I have only good experience with TC products I suppose this one will work flawlessly and will serve me for quite some time. It's built like a tank. Recommended!
Great loop pedal
I use this pedal for gigs in duo with singer, and for practice soloing over progressions.
It is simple to use, there is also a stop button which I need when have gigs with singer. Also, there are reverse and half speed options that I usualy dont use, but are great for having fun and experiment with sounds.
Sound is great, I will recommend this loop pedal to anyone.
Good quality but a bit hard to use.
I personally find this pedal a bit hard to use. It isn't totally intuitive in terms of how many times you have to press the foot switches to get it to do certain things. Maybe I should have bought one with separate switches for each function?? Great build quality and the sound it pretty accurate too.
Superb fun, excellent features
My first looper; this pedal is easy to operate with an excellent switch that is easy to step on with accurate timing. It also has some cool features to play with.
It's a superb practice tool which really highlights your flaws back to you so you can work on them; the half speed option, which drops your loop by an octave when slowing it down, is particularly good for highlighting mistakes or timing issues. (Half speed is also useful for creating a bassline type loop to play over, I guess!)
There's a surprising amount of ways to play with the sounds here too- for example you can put a recorded loop at half speed, record a second loop over it, then return to normal speed to get the effect of raising the second loop an octave above what you played.
The reverse effect can create some fun and atmospheric sounds. You can also use the half speed effect and the reverse loop effect together by switching the toggle.
The pedal saves whatever loops are active when you switch it off- which means you can even use it to record a riff for later if you're stuck.
You can also drop a .wav file onto the pedal from your computer to use as a loop, which is a nice feature. There are sample loops available online, but I've used this to practice over tunes from my music collection.
Easy to operate and Fun
As a looper the Ditto x2 is a dead simple product. Hit once to record, hit again to play, hit again to overdub, hit twice to stop. Press and hold to delete.
The 2 extra effects are also ear candy. Reverse and Half-Speed are assignable to the right switch and you can also use both at the same time by double tapping it.
The sound quality is top notch, no complaints whatsoever.
You can also import and export your recordings from and to your computer via the USB port.
The construction is rugged and overall the pedal is neither big nor small, just about the right size.
Super Looper
Best looper i've tried so far. Easy to use with the 2 foot switches.
Excellent stereo loop pedal
Used after other stereo effects including the Eventide H9, this is an excellent, high quality, looper. The extra size and footswitch reduces the amount of tap-dancing you need to do compared to the regular Ditto, and obviously if you're looping a stereo signal you need two channels in the loop pedal.
Unique
Always was a big fan of the DL4 for looping. The reverse and half speed are a big part not only of practice and jam, but also live performances. The X2 not only covers those functionalities, but also has and AMAZING quality, never heard in a looper pedal before. That, the smaller footprint, the volume knob going above unity makes this one one of the best loopers around.
The only "downside" is that one have to bend down to switch from "stop" to "reverse" and "1/2 speed". Would be perfect to have dedicated switches for that.
PS - The X4 is out now, but this little one is still the best around.
Excellent looper.
I use this looper both in my studio and during live shows, with a guitar or synth. I've never had any troubles with it, it's a very good product. The main reason I chose ditto x2 was the sound quality and built in effects (they're very simple but useful).
Pros:
Excellent sound quality.
Excellent build quality.
Ability to import / export a loop.
Reverse and half speed effect.
Stereo mode.
Cons:
No input / loop level meter (sometimes can be useful if you layer a lot).
Great toy for practice
Only found a use for this in the practice room, but it's certainly a useful tool for just that. Very easy to use straight away, though the effects are a little bit naff, so would probably go for the smaller one. Sounds good and easy to change volume of recorded material.
