Not good

I have used it for years for it's quality of sound and timing accuracy. However, the switches are absolutely NOT going to last for too long. They failed me during gigs several times. Another very bad issue is that the UNDO doesn't work consistently, in all 3 dittos x2 that I owned. So if you want to delete a small mistaken overdub, you have to wait until it's being played. You can't just hold the switch and expect to UNDO it in any time point, especially on a long initial loop. Other loopers do this with ease. The Ditto is consistently totally unreliable on this part. So if you make a mistake and want to UNDO it fast, it's not going to happen on a long initial loop. You will have to wait until the mistaken overdub will be heard on the speakers(!), and then you can press the UNDO (hold the rec for 2 seconds) and hope that it will erase it. Sometimes it does it's own things... For example you can press the REC and it will stop instead of playing back, or it will not playback what you have just recorded. It will record and undo at the same time the last overdub. So you will have to long press the switch to recall the last overdub. I only keep on buying it because of the big volume knob, which I can control with my foot, the sound quality, and the precision. Of course, because I am very familiar with it. However, if I would buy my first looper right now, I would maybe go for the mxr looper.

Best Looper Money Can Buy

I have had this Looper for years now and I literally couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase. Tons of useful practices. The only drawback is that I wish the loop could be more than 5 minutes.

A great machine.

I find easy enough to pull a loop while actually performing a number (some do}.

The stereo is wasted on me, but for the effect people, it's a great addition. Reverse and....? are a bit silly. It sometimes freezes mid performances, but human ability easily overcomes this problem, unplug it for a couple of numbers (5 minutes) and it seems to recover, ready for use again.

Overall, a great machine to use.

Great looper

I have been using this looper for more than 5 years now and I had no issues with the sound quality, but I do start to see some problems with the build quality.

Use:

I use this looper at home for jamming, have not tried it in band context. It has been reliable for about 4+ year , but now it seems, that some parts of it start to wear off. I have all my pedals equipped with Barefoot Buttons, so the Ditto had 2 of those as well. I first noticed a couple of months ago that pressing the Play button with the BFB on did not work. I heard a click as usual but the recording did not start. Taking off the BFB helped for a few months, now sometimes I have to step on the Play button 3-4 times until it actually does something. The Stop button is still fine, but considering that that button is used much less, it is not surprising. Warranty already expired, so did my own research. It turned out that several TC pedals have issues with the spring under the soft-click buttons wearing off after a while. Some people recommend changing or adjusting the spring, but I haven't managed to open up mine so far, due to the weird screws that do not seem to support any screwdrivers I own. So now I guess I just wait until it slowly gives up or I get tired of it and just order something else.

Other than that, it is a good pedal.

Simply the best

The 2 buttons make it so much more easier to use. Highly recommend spending the extra few euros on this one. And its not that much bigger with stereo support. Built like a tank. Really like the save recording feature.

Simple and well built

Nothing fancy here. Bought if for the extra stop switch for ease of use in live gigs. Solid construction, Easy to use, plug in a go.

Simple and great unit

Easy to operate with basic features but totally worth the money. Build is very robust and interface is simple. Having 2 buttons is really a plus vs the double click mode of some other brands. I only wish it had slots to record many loops but for my usage is good enough.

Utter junk

Huge popping sound when starting and deleting loop, making it just utterly unusable. This is a common problem with this product, one only has to google to see other people who have had the same issue. TC Electronic don’t care, but this isn’t surprising when you realize that they’re now owned by Behringer.

works well, only limitation is the user, in my case me.

Good looper until it isnt...

I've been using this looper for the last few years in live settings. When it works it's great, simple and sounds great. The problems come when it suddenly freezes live. Then there is almost nothing you can do. I have a back-up in my bag at all times. I just bought a new one and it froze up, never to return, in the first few weeks of use. The pedal is sturdy and made strong but the software is not stable. It's a great looper for home use but if you use it live have a back-up, or maybe just buy a better looper pedal. TC Electronics does some great things but high quality is not their first prority. That being said I still use this pedal because it's simple and when it works it's just what I need. :)

Feature packed

The sound quality is great on this quality bit of kit. After you’ve finished playing around and figure out the features you can do everything you could want on a looper.

Inspirational looper

Straight-forward looper with simple but handy features. For texturing and background loop purposes the effects chosen for this pedal were bullseyes by TC Electronic and I've particularly been getting a lot of use out of the reverse. I was initially a bit wary about buying this after using solely Boss loopers previously but was pleasantly surprised by the Ditto X2. It's a great contender in its price range.

A truly amazing piece of equipment

I've purchased the Ditto x2 after using the Ditto and the Boss RC-3. What I can say is that by having a bigger box, the pedal is much more stable.

The fact that it can have a dedicated stop button makes its handling so much better. Having two switches makes the pedal easier to operate. Th extra effects are really cool. I use it for solo performances and they can give that extra 'Ohhhh' that sometimes lacks in solo stuff.

The only downside I see in this pedal is if you are already used to the original Ditto two-click stop (even though you can use it on the x2), this pedal is less "bang for your buck". The x2 is also bigger and heavier than the original, and that might be a problem for some people too.

I'm completely satisfied with the x2 and would buy again!

Easy to use and very usefull

This pedal is easy to use and it comes with great features.

One of them is storing loops to a computer and save them.

Best practice pedal ever

I love the fact that it has a dedicated stop pedal. It is a a simple pedal, you won't need a manual to start using it.

The recording of the loop is in excellent quality.

With pedal practicing becomes fun. It is also very useful in live settings.

Simple and elegant!

This looper pedal is very, very easy to use. I wanted something plain and simple, yet capable and Ditto X2 provides just this. Stereo inputs and outputs are a must, especially when you work with stereo effects and stereo synths and the sound is good. The loop effects are a nice bonus, although I don't use them as much as I thought I will. The main surprise was the ability to import backing tracks. This somehow slipped past me and I was not aware of this feature and for small gigs it's awesome to have a backing track right there in a pedal! How cool is that?! Very cool.

The built quality is top-notch and since I have only good experience with TC products I suppose this one will work flawlessly and will serve me for quite some time. It's built like a tank. Recommended!

Great loop pedal

I use this pedal for gigs in duo with singer, and for practice soloing over progressions.

It is simple to use, there is also a stop button which I need when have gigs with singer. Also, there are reverse and half speed options that I usualy dont use, but are great for having fun and experiment with sounds.

Sound is great, I will recommend this loop pedal to anyone.

Super Duper.

This unit is very well built, rugged and does exactly what is described by TC Electronic. True Bypass, clarity of sound and the reverse and 1/2 functions are the icing on top of the cake, if you want to expand your looping capabilities in a creative way - it really stands out when it comes to create gigantic soundscapes. I've traded my lo-fi loop junkie and a boss dd-20 for this pedal. You can really grasp how good this is by comparing prices and functions. Highly recommended.

Good quality but a bit hard to use.

I personally find this pedal a bit hard to use. It isn't totally intuitive in terms of how many times you have to press the foot switches to get it to do certain things. Maybe I should have bought one with separate switches for each function?? Great build quality and the sound it pretty accurate too.
