A modern day bargain!

I've ended up owning three of these monitors over the years and I've advised countless other friends in bands to purchase this model as there is nothing else on the market that comes close to this model.

The build quality is fantastic and they have a reassuring 'heft' to them. My 3 were gigged all around the country and thrown in a back of a van night after night and they never let me down so I don't have any reservations about their reliability.

One of the killer features is the fact that these can be pole mounted and as such can be used for FOH speakers at smaller gigs or, as I did, speakers for rehearsals to save having to drag much larger and heavier equipment to the rehearsal room.

The monitor accepts both line and mic level signals so it can also be used for a direct vocal amp/speaker which is a great feature for small gigs where only the vocals need to be amplified (hotel and restaurant gigs for instance)

The monitor does take XLR inputs so if you do want to send a line level signal in you will need to use an adaptor or go via a DI box to allow a mic level signal in.

No fuss.

Bought x4 of these to upgrade from passive monitors sharing two channels. They work so much better. We have more control over what every need to hear. Theres plenty of power in these and will doubt if we ever have to turn them up past half way. Although heavy, they are really sturdy and can also be used as FOH if need be, not tried them like that yet though.

I am very pleased with this produckt. I have used this monitor many times and it has delivered every time. I think that is affordable and it suitable to beginners, but also more experienced band. A must if you need a low-cost monitor.

Excellent powerhouse speakers

I bought this as a set of four - three of these and the ig brother 15". They are great - excellent sound, very robust pumping bass, great quality for the price. My only gripe is I use them as a monitor from the desk which is what they are meant for. My output is a Jack - but there is no Jack input on the speakers.

Other than that they are fine monitors and the band can now hear everything

Great speakers

These are great speakers for discos or for vocals.

They are well made, relatively light weight (although not so light you question the quality) and have good strong grills on the front.

I run a large PA rig with some high end active speakers running and yet for small parties and rehearsals with my own band this is still the thing I pick up 9 times out of 10.

It is plenty loud enough for a vocal to run through and has been used for countless acoustic sets where set up time and room is limited.

It also works great for kids parties and other small social events where you want some music or volume for speaking but don't want to have to set up a full PA rig.

I find myself lending this out just as much as I use it as for sheer ease of use there is not much that comes close when you are running a 1 mic/1 source set up.

Excellent stage monitor

In the beginning our band tried to play on some small gigs with a mixer and 2 speakerboxes. We realised quite quickly that we didn't hear our own voices, so we decided to buy the box MA120 MKII monitor. This is a right stage box, has a sturdy design. professional quality, pole mount and a top grip. You can use it not only as monitor, but also as normal loudspeaker. It is a great advantage that all necessary plug connectors, the 3-band EQ, the power button and the volume controls are on the front side. The sound is excellent, perfect balanced, clear, powerful and it has a great bass. The transport is comfortable and easy regarding its low weight and awesome grip! I think it is the best monitor in the price category under 130 €. Our choice was absolutely right, we have much more fun while singing and playing than before.

Excellent

I've used this model at an open mic under very harsh conditions, it's never missed a beat and performs better than most comparable, more expensive models. I was so impressed I bought my own and it's just a great but of kit. Very recommended.

Very sturdy

I've found this amp to be very sturdy with a very transparent sound . The eq consists on sturdy dials, its nice that you can actually feel the click between each sound setting. We've decided to get a second one of these for our backing singer

Tried this the first time on its own as a stand alone unit and was a fantastic sound and great bass

Excellent value for money

This is a great 120w monitor. We've had 3 in the band for years, lots of gigs, lots of rigging and packing and they soldier on perfectly. They return a good balanced foldback with good bandwidth, they are easy to handle and set-up. I bought myself a spare one which i use with a mini mixer, which forms a perfect combo for rehearsals and small venue acoustic gigs. To sum it ....extremely useful, reliable, good sound and excellent value for money!

Superb Monitor

This has been superb! Well made and it works fantastically. We bought 2 for our band and they are serving us very well. Superb value too. We always use an extension speaker too for convenience and to achieve the full power output.

I can't recommend this unit enough!

A workhouse

I use the POD X3 Pro guitar modelling processor and the MA120 (sometimes together with PA M 12 ECO) covers my needs for monitoring and/or amplifying on stage. I often also often use it as an combo under rehearsal complementing my POD X3 Pro.

I have even used it as PA in an outside area of approx. 250 square meters without any problems and with lot of power to spare, so it's very versatile.

On the cons side, the box is very heavy but it's probably hard to do it different and I also miss that it can send mic level output to for example the house mixers when that applies. The line level I/Os are XLR only and it would also be nice to have the balanced jacks there.

The sound is not HiFi and it's not supposed to be that either; it sounds perfect under live events and in rehearsal situations and that is what I'm using it for.

I give handling, features, sound and quality four stars, but the total is without doubt 5 strong stars when you involve the price into the picture. I can usually place all my ordinary gear on a hand truck with the MA 120 in the bottom and it is essential for making my live gear as versatile as it is now. I strongly recommend it.

Great monitor at a great price.

For the price this is the best monitor we have ever had. We've previously used monitors by Laney, Studiomaster and Carlsbro with similar sized speakers and similar output power and this holds its own against them all. We've had it over a year and a half and played 2 gigs a week at least and never had any trouble with it. It has good sound, the 3 band graphic eq is effective and its tough wearing as its been put in and out of a van every night. For bigger gigs we regularly power a 12" JBL wedge off it and it handles this fine and we also take a line out to an in-ear monitor and this too works fine. All in all a great monitor at a fantastic price which I can't recommend highly enough.

durable wedge

I have had one of these since 2009. Its done loads of gigs and taken a few knocks along the way but its been great. I've used it as a monitor but I've also done solo gigs just using the MA120. Its quite bulky and heavy but its reliable and quite versatile, having mic and line inputs and a basic eq on the speaker. It can handle a fair amount of bass as well. It does get quite hot though. All in all I'm very happy with it. I gave it 5 stars overall to reflect the fact that it has been so durable. I am of course taking into account the price as well, its good value for money

Very good for practicing, maybe a bit quiet for loud gigs.

As I have said this is a very good monitor if you are practicing at home, however in large rooms I find that it just isn't loud enough.

Still a very good monitor, sound quality and features are great, just wish it were louder!!

Good monitor wedge

you get what you pay for in speakers and this is no exception. It's perfect for what I want - a cheap band wedge but oh so versatile. I've used it for a small PA (on its own or with the extension speaker) and for extending a school PA system to a 2nd room.

The sound is OK but a bit mid-rangey for my taste. For the price I paid, I'm certainly very happy with them.

Awesome product for the price. Hard wearing, and keeps going after two punishing years on the road!

Good priced active monitor cab that can be linked to others or drive another passive cab.Can also plug a mike directly in for a small pa situation.

Great value for a great monitor. I have been using the box MA120 for several years now, and it produces a clean powerful sound when gigging. I like to keep my gear weight down to a minimum without losing quality, and the performs! I have used a few monitors before, but this beats most on the market.

Bang for buck

I bought two MA120 MKII being fully aware of what they are about .. having bought a pair previously, and a pair of passive Box monitors also. The size and power of these are exactly right for the gigs I do, and I find they deliver a sound which is pretty even from high to low frequencies.

These are extremely versatile. As well as being useful monitors, they can be mounted on poles to deliver sound out front for small gigs, and can also be used as multi purpose combos for instruments. At such a reasonable price, these will find a use in anyone's equipment pool.
