the box MA8/2 CL Reviews
Great for the size and price
Bought two of these as drum monitors as the band are using an electric kit at my venue but have also used them as stage monitors which have been perfect as its a small stage. I was very pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. These are great for small venues or for bands that travel to gigs that don't provide monitors. Recommended
Such an impressive wee speaker.
I bought this speaker for my drum lessons and intended to use it for metronome practice and exam work but ended up using it a my gigs! Itâs surprising loud and clear and extremely easy to transport.
Monitor speaker
bought 2 of these. prefect for our four piece acoustic band. small enough with a lot of power
Much much better than you think it is
I was skeptical about these units but they work very well and are perfect for a busy stage. Please note that you are NOT going to get a lot of bass but if you are already adding a HFP up to 150Hz for vocalists on your aux send anyway then there's nothing lost and the small size is a bonus.
The box monitor
I used to use these for the band and they were really handy, I could have done with something a bit netter sound quality but these were perfect for acoustic set ups. Compact and light weight.
Small
Not so powerful, but easy to handle.
Really great for the price
Excellent for small gigs. Pretty durable, and since it's very lightweight and small it's easy to transport. If you need a simple monitor that has a decent, clear sound without getting too harsh or shrill on louder volumes, just get this monitor.
Good little Monitor. Does it job well
Oke For the money
It does what it needs to do but don't expect to much.
i use it for rehearsals and it does the job.
the box MA8/2 CL is better than a lot of bigger stage monitors, compact , clear , eazy to transport and use. It would benefit from tone controls, low mid and high, but having said that, I have not experienced any unwanted feedback. I do put the full mix through and like to lift the mids in monitors for vocal clarity when performing. A nice practical monitor at a fair price.
just what i needed
I wanted it for feedback for small gigs and it is just perfect. Good sound and enough power, easy to handle. It sure doesn't have fancy features but for the price is great
Worth every penny!
Knockout little powered monitor that really works well. I was concerned that 70w RMS might not cut it - I was wrong, it is clear, loud and faultless. Great small compact monitor. Will buy another shortly.
Amazing little monitor
Love this floor monitor,
It's perfect for voice monitoring.
The frequency response is good in the mids and highs and a bit lacking on the lower end but
if you look at the specs before buying and have reasonable expectations you will be able to appreciate the true value of this little monitor.
Compact Monitor
This monitor is best suited for intimate gigs when space is very limited for monitors.
It has a good steep angle for the speaker.
Some EQ is needed has they can sound a little thin and edgy otherwise. And can also peak rather quickly.
Best used for an acoustic solo or duo act.
Good for home and small spaces
Very good monitor for small places. Compact, it makes the transport easy also.
It struggles a bit if the venue you use it is too noisy or if you have too much things going through it.
The Box MA8/2 Powered Floor Monitor
Had mine for years and it?s been brilliant. Very loud and clear, good full range sound, light, tough & compact. Our Singer started using it sideways on as his main vocal monitor a couple of years ago since he is always front of stage and moving about. Just as good as the old active monitors but much smaller and convenient.
Fantastic quality for the price.
This is a great monitor to use as a small amp for diverse uses. I gave four stars for features because it is minimal (one input, no EQ, etc.) but in fairness, it is what it is and I can't complain since it's a monitor after all and not a mixer. :)
The build quality is awesome for the price and it doesn't feel like cheap plastic. Nice weight to it.
Sounds is better than the price suggests. I might buy a second one soon.
mini marvel
I play big stages all over europe but when not on tour i like to play small bars. its then all about getting everything as small as possible but maintaining quality. I still use top end gear...allen and heath, shure, QSC but try to keep everything as small and light as possible. But i dont want to compromise on quality. im playing these small bars for fun after all. I use 10" monitors but couldn't help thinking about an even smaller wedge. when these cute little 8" monitors arrived my heart sank. I wasn't expecting them to be THAT small and felt sure i'd gone a step too far. Imagine my delight when i found them to be tight, clear and better sounding than my 10" ones. Ok im only putting acoustic instruments, vocals and a foot stomp through them but the clarity was alarming and the kick pedal kicked like a mule. They take up no room on stage and look smart. Even as i was setting them up other musicians were casting envious glances. No E.Q. but found i didn't need it. Sound way better than the Personal mic stand mounted monitor that does a similar job.
Great little monitor
This is a great little active monitore. Bought it just to check out the Tbone brand and I am very satisfied with this product. Despite it's small size it's relatively loud, has a very clear and defined sound. I have used it as a singers floor monitor in some smaller venues and as the drummers monitor proped up on a flight case in some louder gigs.
Pros:
-great sound
-loud for it's size
-sturdy build quality
-very light
cons:
-can't really think of anything negative...
For the money great & for accoustic tone lovely
