Thomann CTG-10 Clip Tuner Reviews
Simple
Bass, Guitar, whatever, this works in all the things I need.
Simple, and beautiful, it works anywhere I need and the head works quite well.
About the build quality, for a plastic tuner, it's really not bad, it's sturdy but I'm a bit afraid that in time the head won't be so stable.
In the end, for the price and quality I really recommend this tuner ! 10/10
Simple and Easy to use
Got this for my first Bass guitar, never having used one before.
I leave it in place on my guitar and find it perfectly easy to use. For the price I can't fault it.
easy to use, simple and cheap but excellent. I recommended to any guitarplayer
Can't beat this price
Just as good as a Snark tuner. I've have a few of these, one for each guitar; acoustic, 2 electrics and bass guitar and they have all been excellent which great battery life!
Beware of Expensive Imitations
*** Update: 12th Nov 2o2o ***
I stand by what I wrote in my earlier review with the exception of the final three words: End of, right?; cos it wasn't; the end of the matter, I mean. In fact, it never is when you're a contemporary musician. There is no end (other than...), just perpetual change.
Simply put, I quickly outgrew the need for a simple tuner as described below. I was now in the land of pedal boards and that means: Well, check out my review for the Boss TU-3 and you'll see what I mean... end of, right? - unlikely; very unlikely.
*** Original Review ***
A good friend of mine recently paid a small fortune for a very similar piece of kit. Don't get me wrong: It works well; it is fit for purpose; it assists with tuning a guitar; he is happy.
Now, I have seldom found myself in need of a tuner before, for one simple reason: Just like many other guitarists and bassists, I can tune a guitar or bass perfectly well by ear. I do concede that, on occasions, I would ask my keyboard player for a "middle C", just to make sure but, other than that; no, there was no justification for such an accessory; especially at the prices I was being quoted.
However, I now find myself playing bass in a band with a compliment of three relentlessly noisy guitarists. Therefore, rather than having to utter a continuous stream of expletive ridden edicts, telling them to shut up, so I can check my tuning, I decided to buy this little tuner.
And, like my friend, I am happy. Why?; because, despite costing a fraction of the price of certain expensive imitations, it also works well; it is also fit for purpose; it also assists with tuning a guitar, bass, etc., or any other of a huge range of musical instruments.
Simply put, there's no real excuse for not being able to tune your instrument, although I meet many who can't, allegedly. But, if you find yourself in circumstances similar to my own, beware of expensive imitations. It's a tuner! Pay a small ransom, should you so desire, but surely a fit for purpose, incredibly well priced option, such as the CTG-10 Clip Tuner is the best way to part with your hard earned cash. Of course, it's your call but, take my advice: if needs be, get yourself one of these little beauties. Easy to use and great value. End of, right?
very slow
work? yes, but very slow
Buy better
Don't skimp on something so important! Even the expensive tuners are pretty affordable.
This tuner couldn't find a note when trying to tune the A or low E strings.
I gave up on this after a few days and bought a Boss clip on instead which has worked perfectly since purchase..
Cheap and works
Works well. Didn't cost much.
And it feels good in quality as well with a strong clip.
Does what it says on the tin
Great little inexpensive tuner. Bought it as a spare but it’s so easy to read I use it quite a lot.
Useful
Simple and useful to the maximum, decent looking - nothing over the top or excessively big in size; clear bright enough screen which lights up green when you're in tune; takes a bit to reset back but nothing too bad; then easy functionality for switching on/off and switching between the three modes provided. Does its job; and a well priced product.
Cheap and accurate
This is pretty accurate tuner that does it's job. Tested with PC software and pedal I could say that it's great option for tuning without requiring to plug instrument anywhere. Even comes with battery!
Great Tuner
I use it for my electric guitar pretty often.
Pros:
Really precise (as expected), nice interface and adjustability.
Cons:
It can be a little slow sometimes.
Great tuner for the price!
It costs nothing and tunes my guitar just fine. Perfect to have in a bag just in case you need it.
Decent tuner for the price
It does everything you need tuning wise and is accurate. The build quality is on the flimsy side but it feels sturdy enough to be taken around,
I use this clip tuner for acoustic guitars. It's really cheap but, at the end of the day, I must say it is not so precise: quite seldom it doesn't recognize wich cord are you playing to tune and you have to manage it going back and forward with the tuning.
But it has several pros: it works with any chords instruments (bass, ukelele, guitar and so on), it is cheap and it is quite a handful: very easy to use. The screen is easily visible and you bet you can easily understand when your cord is tuned.
Get it
Very good price and it does it job. I use it for the bass guitar and electro guitar.
Recommeded
Jt does its job. It's accurate and simple to use. Recommeded.
Fantastic Chromatic Tuner
For an inexpensive tuner, this thing works great. The display is bright and easy to read at any angle.
Cool little
This is a very high quality product. Very small dimensions make it easy to carry with you. A rotatable display makes customization easy. By the way, the display is very good contrast and brightness - nice to the eye. Switching modes is also an original approach. In general, as for me, there are no minuses, some pluses!
Great for its price
Only con is the low E of the guitar in not always picked up. Overall great value for price.
