Thomann FetAmp Reviews
Very nicely built
Received this as part of the Shure SM 7 B bundle. It comes in a nice little padded box and the overall quality is really nice - all metal construction and sturdy.
Great Product!
It does the same as all the others, but for a better price :) The sound quality and handling are awesome. Features are simple and easy to understand and use. On the downside, I do find the build quality to be a bit flimsy (does not affect the experience much).
9,5/10
Does what it's supposed to
It seemed to fulfill the role perfectly and a much easier/cheaper solution for high power demanding microphones. I tend not to need it at all once I got my goxlr. But when i did put this inline the shure sm7b was significantly easier to power without affecting the sound too much.
Literally a cheaper version of the Triton.
As stated in the title, this is basically the exact same piece of kit as the Triton FetAmp. i combine it with both Rode Procasters and Rode Podmics, and the result is a clear, loud, output. No need to place your noisy preamps too high.
I use it for my podcast, and find it has helped me achieve a clear sound, with very little need for post-processing beyond the basics.
The hardware is sturdy and well built, likely to stay together even with a lot of use.
Does the job perfectly, needs more recognition
Little disclaimer: I would have gone for the Klark Teknik CT1 if it were in stock but I needed an preamp asap.
This preamp does a good job and needs more recognition imo.
There is not much to say, go for it if you want to save money and avoid overpriced stuff. I used this with the Rode Podmic (I have 2 of each) and it let me put my gain way lower, reducing ambient noise. On the two FetAmps I have bought, one is a little bit loose when plugging it into the mic, that's why I gave it 4 stars. Other than that, I didn't have any problem. I would recommend this item.
Alternative to CL1
A cheap alternative to Cloudlifters etc. This brought my SM7B to life.
Great piece of kit!
Robust - and does exactly what it's supposed to do. Every bit as good as the more expensive examples.
Nice compliment to my SM7B
I use this with an SM7B running into a Behringer Xenyx QX2442 and then through Reaper for processing. It helps me get a really nice hot sound but without any hint of "strain". I recommend it highly unless you have some really good preamps. I'm a fan. Only complaint would be that the XLR connections are a tiny bit loose.
