Thomann NT AC/PSA Reviews
Economy solution
Needed a cheaper power supply for my pedals and bought one.
Pros: Some of my other power supplies introduce noise in certain pedals and I had to try a different one.
Its not noisy and so far no problems.
Cons: My first item was faulty but got replaced immediately. It works nice with some pedals but its noisy with others.
I would definitely recommend buying one if you want a budget power supply. It does the job nicely.
Does Whats Required
I use it with reverb pedal, it fits securely at both ends and works fine.
Seems fairly robust and well made, for the price I would recommend it to others.
I throw it in my gig bag after rehearsals, stand on the cable and it still looks brand new.
The only con is that it has a 2 pin plug with an adapter included for UK outlets, I haven't found this to be a major inconvenience though.
Nice cable
the charger was smaller than expected, so that's always nice because all the other chargers are fighting for space.
It does what it's supposed to do and I have no complaints.
The cable connection is usually the weak spot of these types of things and I guess it could be sturdier but that's just me being picky
As described
Does exactly what says on the tin. I've had zero problems with this. The only minor annoyance would be the shape, which means that strategic positioning on a socket board is sometimes required so as to avoid blocking adjacent outputs, but that's not really the fault of this product alone.
For the money very good
There is nothing much to say about this piece of gear but it does what its made for. How long will it last depends entirely on how one treats the cables (entangled cables and pulling/etc). Im happy with it
Good!
I have a few of these for home use and they are really nice. Seem to work on most 9 volt pedals. They are smaller then most similar power supplys and that comes in handy when using them on pedalboards.
Good AC Adapter
Well difficult to say too much about this product, except it works fine and the build quality seems fine too. I would definitely recommend this product. Good value for money.
Essential
If your buying anything with batteries, better get an mains adaptor (if your unit has the option) or else you'll be for ever replacing them. I bought one for my Behringer V-Tone Bass BDI21 and all is well. It is solid made and will save me a fortune in replacement batteries. Nothing more to say, it does the job.
Save yourself a small fortune
You can't go wrong with these adapters. Mine have performed on par with other branded (and considerably more expensive) units, and because of this I highly doubt i'll use anything but these for my practice sessions. I can't say that i've tried them 'live' as such, but they've seen quite a battering around my practice room and I reckon they'll live up to the task. The Euro-PSU UK adapter that I use with it is also brilliant. Get one and see for yourself.
Good power supply
Nothing extraordinaty - quality is good, price is good. But this is what you expect from power supply. And, of course, don't forget to use correct power supply - otherwise you will burn your pedal.
Good value for the money
Now, this thing is cheap so you cannot expect too much of it, but I find it quite decent. I've definitey have had power supplies that has been worse.
With some pedals I can hear a high pitched hissing noise but never any hum.
It's also very light and small. That's good.
In general, power supplies are very tricky. I've tried many different ones from dirt cheap to very expensive and none is completely perfect. Nothing is as quiet as a battery really.
works great
very good for the price. I cannot tell any difference from the more expensive ones I have. Use it for many pedals and no difference at all from the other more expensive adapters.
Single pedal adapter
I used this adapter for months and never experienced any hum or hiss, even when hooking up up to 5 pedals.
Sadly it created a lot of hum when hooking up a boutique pedal to it (whether in chain or just that pedal) so I had to replace it.
Great value for money but don't hook up multiple pedals to it! (Up to 4 simple pedals should be okay)
unacceptable noise level
Gives me nasty noise when using with boss me25 effects (0 noise on batteries). Not present or poor dc filter circuit. Simply unusable with me25. Did not try with other boss products though. Will have to buy the original adapter now :(.
Working Power Supply
I bought this power supply for my Boss ODB-3 effect pedal and it does what it is supposed to do. The cable is quite discreet in its width which is a bonus.
The power supply is affordable and functional. I am happy with my purchase.
basic essential
great back up and half the price of the boss adaptor. I keep it purely for this reason so haven't used it yet, however it gives me great piece of mind knowing that it is there, as I am only too aware that adaptors invevitably stop working when you most need them!
NOT An Exact Replacment
This was sold to me as an exact replacment for my Yamaha Keyboard. But when you open the packet you see the ampage over rating is much higher than Yamaha should have. This means that the charger could in principle send a spike or more current to your keyboard and blow it up!
You get what you pay for.
I ended up buying this to power a couple of pedals in front of an amp. Sadly it didn't surprise me with it's price-quality ratio, but at least it powers the pedals as long as you can keep ignoring the hum you inevitably get by using this.
The hum already got annoyingly loud with a single pedal connected at all but fortunately didn't amplify with more pedals added to the chain. That changed the second i turned even one of the pedals on. You don't wanna know the amount of hum two or more pedals gave me.
I'm not sure if adding grounding wires to my pedals would have helped, I didn't bother trying since I fortunately found another 9 volt adapter from my house, wich still provides enough power for half the hum.
I don't really recommend this unless you are really desperate for an adapter or you want to use it in something else. I'd rather spend a bit more on an adapter that would be granted for less hum but this one will do well for it's price, if you are prepared for the noise.
Great adaptor
Great adaptor, was bought to power a boss floor effect and it work perfectly. The quality of the product is high, seams durable and the lead length is great. The connection to the pedal fits well, it is not lose or anything like what might be found with cheaper adaptors. For the price of this adaptor, you really couldn't ask for better!
Useful and necessary.
Useful and necessary. Pedal boss is what you need, no problem using all the great work and good value for money.
