Awesome instrument!

I was looking for simple-looking kalimba and this one met my expectations! After almost 6 months it is still in tune! The sound hole gives it a warm and deep sound. I'd recommend this kalimba because of it's incredible quality, aesthetics and obviously price.

Excellent Instrument!

I got this Kalimba now almost 3 years ago and it's still in tune! Very sturdy, excellent wood quality and make, ... and I found the sound to be a lot more pleasant (and volume slightly louder) than that of other more expensive kalimbas I had the chance to play/hear.

Obviously, the high notes in kalimbas are always a concern as most entry-level ones don't sound them that well, if at all, but I've had no issue with how the ultra high notes on this kalimba sound—I rarely play pieces that include them, anyway.

One thing I decided to do when I started learning on this kalimba was to get one with carved notes on the tines the next time I'm upgrading (say to a 21-key one) as the stickers are a very cumbersome substitute to that. The glue fades over time and the stickers' half-glued state produces an abnormally strong vibration when the tine is played, which very much ruins the note. That, or they just fall off. Learning what each note is obviously solves it but I'm not there yet.

All in all, this product still comes highly recommended.

Surprisingly high quality

So, I bought this more or less on a whim, just wanting to mess around but what I got is quite a high tier instrument with a beautiful sounding, have messed around with this kalimba for a few weeks and have loved every little bit of it

The Kids and I Love it

Bought this item on a whim but the kids love it. They work out simple songs by ear so it keeps them entertained for a while. I do the same and love the soothing sound. I've had this Kalimba for a while now and it hasn't rusted or cracked despite being used a lot by my kids. I'd buy it again.

Nice instrument.

My daughter loves it, quality seems good, no problems after a good year of use and taking it everywhere. We got a handy carrying bag on AliExpress that fits perfectly. I have not compared it to other Kalimbas though, but on its own it convinces. It seems somewhat like a toy, but my daughter manages to use it as a fullworthy instrument!

Great Kalimba

I'm very happy about this Kalimba. The sound is what you can hear on the website page. Very nice design as the wood. I highly recommend this Kalimba. Intuitive to play. My daughter loves it too.

Good price for the quality.

Lydian lydian lydian

This thing is awesome! I sometimes annoy my wife by sitting on the couch and tuning it. Normally it's in C Major but I find making a couple of the tines sharp and putting it into C Lydian is rather more pleasing. Very nice tone, sounds good with some effects if you stick a contact mic in there.

Funny little piece of instrument

Ordered it for my sons, they enjoy it verry much. I think is a good instrument for begginers. Deliverers what it was made for. Cheers

Humble but great

The sound is great and the tunning is spot on. The body of the kalimba doesn't look very robust but it is still well worth the price. Perfect for beginners. However, I would prefer it unvarnished.

Great feel and sound. Highly recommended! If you're new to a kalimba, make sure to put some notes or numbers on the straws to be able to read tabs and stuff.

Really nice!

Super strong built, with some extra 2 holes behind that I didn't know about (you can kind of use it to make it sound like a sansula, not pro here just guessing). The higher notes are a bit hard to play and making the sound thiner, but I really don't know if that's just me ^^'

Overall it's a great sounding kalimba!

I love the TK17-R Kalimba!

I love the TK17-R Kalimba!

Such a calming instrument to play. The tone is held for a surprisingly long time and it plays louder than you'd think - It fills the room!

Pros: Durable, clean tone, intuitive to play.

Cons; Needs tuning as frequently as a guitar - But hey, it's an instrument!

Pro tip; You can use any kind of tuner for it! And you can put a piezo mic inside of it to get a real clean recording of it (Or just use a regular microphone, you do you...)

Good kalimba

I don't have any other kalimba to compare but i can say that it is very sturdy and nice quality kalimba. It comes with a soft bag. High notes sounds a little thin but i don't think it is bad.
