Vic Firth SIH2 Reviews
Best drummer headphones
These cans save my eardrums day aftdr day. Perfect for band practice sith louder music.
Bangin...
Perfect for drummers with electronic kits. The Playing experience is dramatically improved. These cans cut out all of the unwanted noises created by striking the mesh heads etc. BRILLIANT 👏
Great pair of inexpensive headphones
For the money, these give you almost everything you could want from a pair of headphones. Good noise cancellation, perfectly adequate sound quality. They do get a little uncomfortable after a while wearing them, due to the pressure, but a snug fit is no bad thing. Overall suits my needs perfectly.
Good sound and isolation but uncomfortable
I bought the Vic Firth SH2 mainly for playing on my e-drum.
The sound is good and the isolation great but nonetheless I will return this headphone because for me the audio cable is to short and the pressure on my ears is to big. This makes playing on my e-drum uncomfortable.
good
Sound isolation is very successful. Headphone volume is a little low. I can't hear it well enough even if I turn up the final volume on my Roland digital drum. Sweat in hot weather or under exertion. The material quality is nice and solid.
Good budget headphones
Using with my electric drums
Good isolation and sound
A bit tight on the ears
Overall satisfied
sound is INCREDIBLE
but all the rest is not as incredible as the sound. The build quality could be better. But again the sound is really mindblowing, super high quality
Despite I tried to fix it, some external noises are heard and is quite annoying, doesn’t cover at all my ears.
Great for the price
Do the job great! Really good drummers headphones.
Perfect headphones for me
These are very high quality and good headphones not just for drummers. My bass player fell in love with these headphones. They muffle the surrounds as much as possible and are very accurate in the midrange.
Great for practice, I don't think I'll need another pair anytime soon
I've been using them for about a year for practicing both with acoustic and electronic drums.
- On the acoustic drums, they protect my hearing way more than any earplugs I have (even custom-made ones with a theoretically similar attenuation). Of course what I play doesn't sound amazing through all that noise isolation, but I don't really care.
- With electronic drums, I'm very satisfied with how much they isolate the sounds of the pads.
- Sound quality isn't amazing but again, not something I care about.
- They fit my (big) head pretty well and they only start to get uncomfortable after more than an hour, and probably only because I don't have any hair that could offer some padding.
Overall I'm satisfied, as I value my hearing way more than perceiving every detail of how my drums sound.
Better than its competition!
I’ve bought and used several headphone models over the years, THIS IS THE KING for a hard-hitting drummer like Pete F. Moon.
Try Vic Firth - Life’s too short for tinnitus and bad monitoring!
Great sound
Very good noise cancelling headphones. Great sound.
Would buy again
Quality headphones, great noise reduction and puts compression on the kit sound.
Very tight so can be uncomfortable if not used to it.
I'd suggest keeping them safe with a case, the frame snapped after being lugged around in a kit bag for too long.
Happy overall
Positives are that for the money, these headphones provide great isolation and great sound quality for the price. The cable could be a little longer, but is great quality and the attachment at the earpiece end has a sturdy rubber surround so I can't see it failing any time soon.
Downside is that after a relatively short time these can get a little uncomfortable to wear around the sides of the head, and the headband cover isn't the greatest quality, and has begun to split along it's edge.
Great product!!
Great, you can see it is made by drummer for drummers.
Little uncomfortable at first, but when you get used to it, it is ok.
Sound is not for mixing and so, but for playing drums - sound is great.
All in all, great product, 9/10!!
Excellent
Works really good. Nice quality
Best recording headphones
This is a great choice for drummers in a recording situation. It is quality made and much more comfortable then the previous version for longer wear. Sound is not really studio quality but it is very good. Isolation is excellent.
Excellent, but not the best!
Like the previous model, it puts a lot of pressure on the head. If you wear glasses like me, it can cause some inconvenience. But it's bearable! Quite a good sound and, most importantly, noise reduction. I also use a Yamaha HPH - MT 8. They have an amazing sound, but it is difficult to work in them due to the fact that the ear pads are very sound-permeable. But they do not put pressure on the head and have better drivers than SIH2 (but also cost Yamaha twice as much). Of course, these are inherently different headphones, but it seems to me that if you solve the problem with strong pressure, cable length (make a twisted and long cable, as it once was) and make drivers a little better, then these will be the coolest headphones for drummers!
Great value
Bought these to practice at home with music and also use a click track. Had read many reviews on them, given the price, I think they are a really good buy. Confortable to wear and good sound insulation. Sound quality isn't perfect but then they are a cost effective working tool, not hifi units. Recommended.
