Vox VFS5 Footswitch Reviews
Versatile
Versatile footswitch for many effects
It works as it should, but a very long cable.
It works well enough.
The super long cable is... well in my opinion unnecessary and can get in your way. Other than that the quality is fine, switches seem good.
Must have unit
this was a great buy. it gives me control over my sound with 8 presets, without going to the amp. works a treat.
Perfect with VOX valvetronix
Wouldn't want anything more from a foot switch. Good quality!
Good add on for your amp.
Sturdy footswitch, switching not reliable
I bought this foot switch to be used with my Vox VT20. The foots switch is heavy and sturdy, and large enough for my feet. Features are also good, with multiple banks and 4 effects to choose from per bank. At the start I was really happy with it, using it for practice alone or with the band.
Basically, it works fine, but after a while I found the switching is simply not reliable enough for me. Apparently the connection to the VT20 works with different resistors for each of the 5 switches, and any contact resistance results in either the wrong effect to be enabled, or no switching at all. After a bit of contact spray things seem to work again, until you are in the middle of a song and it just refuses to switch from heavy distortion to clean sound...
It gave me too much frustration, therefore mine is not getting out of the cupboard anymore.
goede pedaal voor Vox AV versterker
geen klachten, alles werkt naar behoren
Does what it's supposed to, but not a necessity
To really get the most out of the VTX series I find that it's best to hook up your amp to a computer to really play with the configs in a more precise manner. Generally, I don't think the footswitch is necessary and I personally never use it.
But, if you want a footswitch for hopping between channels and configs this one does the trick perfectly. Not my cup of tea, but definitely not a bad product.
Great
Works flawless, just as I like it.
High quality
I took it with my VT40X amp. Sturdy construction and stable. I think it's a little bit overpriced for a simple footswitch but anyway.
Nice footswitch
I just wish the price would be lower. Works perfectly with VT40x.
Very satisfied
Got this pedal together with my amp VOX VT40+ and it is perfect match. Does the job and it is solid, nothing to say against it. I love it.
handy to have more access to your amp at gigs
a great extension for the vox series amps. Easy to change between channels etc on the fly mid gig etc
Built Like a tank
This is a very high quality product and looks to be indestructible. It's rather large but that suits me fine. In operation it it faultless.
Id does what it have to do
No complains at all. Product in good working order, no faults.
The only con could be the cable, is quite rigid and would be better something with a higher quality, but is not a big deal.
Wouldn't be without it
I like this a lot and use it when gigging and in the studio. All our other pedals have been dumped, apart from the tuner which on the VOX VT**X amps is not so clever. Nice long lead and positive action, (it;s a stomp pedal) Would not be without it.
Simple and Perfect to use with AV60
I bought this to go with the Vox AV60, it is perfect. The amp has a simple design, 2 channels(controlled by the first switch which has a LED). The other buttons control the effects from the amp(Chorus, Delay, tap tempo and Reverb respectively).
The construction is solid (a little bit on the heavy side) but it means it won't disintegrate after you step on it a few times. The buttons are wide enough apart so your foot won't step on more than one at the same time (The actual unit is bigger than what I thought).
The cable is long enough so you don't have to stand right next to the amp. The only thing it could be better is if each button had it's own LED, so you know which effect is on without having to play, or look on the amp(Not enough to lower the 5* rating)
As I personally use a Line 6 M13, I might buy the 2 button version, to use less space(as I'm mainly using to select the channel, not effects), however I would keep this in case I wanted a simple rig(without anything else)
MUST HAVE
When I bought a VOX AC40, I didn't realize its complexity of use.
The Vox VFS5 Footswitch its imperative to use 2 or 3 effects in the same music while playing it, something impossible to do without this footswitch.
Pros - compact and robust case. Cons - The layout is good but could be improved.
Solid, sturdy footswitch
Handles the job it's made for very well. Controlled my VT120+ with no problems. The only downside is that the cable is hardwired into the switch. I modded this (but this voids the warranty of course) to be detachable regular stereo jack, so that I would have flexibility in cable length and to be able to use any old stereo jack-jack.
Great pedal
No issues, looks cool, robust, and effective
Great but not perfect
Bought this to go with my Vox Valvetronix VT20+. It's quite big, and comes with a very long lead. So far I haven't had the chance to use it in a "live" situation, only used at home up to now, but it's more than long enough for a medium to large stage. Don't complain if it's too long, just use some ties to make it shorter! Very solid construction, you'd need to put some real weight on it to cause any damage, but the switches themselves are very receptive, so there's no need to actually stamp too hard to switch between the channels. It does exactly what it's supposed to do - switch between the various banks and channels on the amp. However the one drawback is the lack of any LED's on the switches, which means unless you've remembered which channel you've selected it can get confusing.
But other than that I'd definitely recommend it.
