Brilliant

I expected a lot of the mic, considering the reviews and the manuifacturer... but at this price? how good could it be?... its better than i could have imagined.... just buy it, its really good.

Great Microphone

Combined with a Zen Go this mic is a workhorse It even puts my Nuemann TLM 103 to shame on male and female singers voices.

Def. a bank for the buck!

When I first got it I could not belive, that this mic costs even nearly to 300$. It just looks and feels so great in your hands and while recording.

This mic is good for begginer and professional recordings. It comes with a warm and clean sound that I like a lot. The mic itself is well built and comes with a nice and sturdy shockmount which probably will last for ages.

Perfect for female vocals. also good for male.

I use it as a studio mic mainly for vocals and drum room sound.

also love it as an outside kick mic. it is sweet, detailed, never harsh and very very 'vibey'. Love it! on of my main mics.

My hat's off for warm audio!

Strange noise and the cable does not holding

Have bought this mic for a figure of eight in mid side recording. Wasn't able to check anything because of two connection problems were found. The first one is noise, as if the wind is blowing. Second one is when the cable is plugged into the microphone, the mechanism does not snap into place. The scope of delivery and quality inspires a lot of confidence in this microphone, but unfortunately I could not enjoy any of this and today it will be sent back.

UPD: Replacing the microphone helped and came a new one that does not make noise. But the second problem remains - the cable does not snap into the microphone. I would say excellent sound for the money.

A mic to consider

It's a great sounding microphone, very warm and clear. So far I have used it on vocals and voice overs and I am very satisfied with the clarity and character it offers.

Dont buy it for a 47 clone. Nonetheless a very smooth mic. It works on drums (not kick) cause of the smooth hi end. Use it as a snare mic, vocals and acoustic guitars

Great bang for the buck!

Versatile microphone that sounds great on vocals, acoustic guitar drum OH. Good suspension. Minus one star for not supplying a case that fits the mic and suspension.

Great mic

This is a mic I have been using for recording drums. I love how it sounds on the kick when placed outside the drum. As an overhead too I have tried it and am very pleased with the results. There is nice control with the pattern switching. The mic itself is really well built and is great value considering it comes with the shock mount.

Warm your ears.

Simple is divine. So I'll write it straight: Very warm, very nice, very clearly and very high quality.

WA 47Jr

I have a small home studio, I record my own stuff mostly and have just started going out and recording some bands I play with. I haven't used the mic much.

I recorded guitar bass and drums recently in a small hall. Used it on the bass amp and got nice big warm sound.

Where I have liked it most at the moment, is using a Fathead ii ribbon (body) and Neuman TLM 102 (neck) on the acoustic guitar and then the 47Jr for my (male) vocal. It seems without too much mixing the 47Jr sits above the guitar in a pleasing way. I'm getting up out my chair to sing because it feels good.

On my Martin it seems to capture lots of detail. Need to do more with it to see what is going on.

In my mind and ears it seems to cut out a space in the mix for what I am recording without the need for too much in the way of plugins etc.. As for whether it sounds like anything else I wouldn't know and don't much care, I liked the way it sounded in the ads that Warm Audio did and bought it off the back of mostly what I heard of the vocal takes in those ads. It seems to have a presence that I didn't have in my other mics.

It is not as bright as my Bluebird, seems to be smoother (less brittle) than my Oktava 319. The TLM 102 hasn't got some of the higher frequency detail. The Cascade mic is different thing all together. All completely subjective in a box room where I go to play.

All in all I am enjoying playing and singing to this mic, which after a s*** day at work makes me happy.
