out the box... really good

I had one of the original RB Fortress 5s and it was great but heavy as.. this is lighter has a much slimmer neck and is pretty well finished, it does have a tiny bit of fret sprout, but thats easily fixed, they also need a bit of a polish, the strings feel horrible too. The rest is flawless, its easily a Â£1200 Bass, so for value, its bang for bucks. Pots are nice and smooth, the locking tuners is a nice addition and the gig bag was unexpected. String spacing is very nice and the bass is really easy to play and balanced on a strap. I'd buy another.
