Amazing pedalboard for the price

I needed a pedalboard with amp/cab sims for rehearsal and live gigging and this product does everything that i need, and for a good price too! Highly reccomended.

easy to use

this is replacing my 10yr old boss gt10 . zoom unit is very easy to operate.

the old boss gt10 was hell to use.

vastly superior to the old crappy boss gt10

Great value!

I was interested in a multieffects pedal for practicing, they are much more practical than having lots of amps and pedals around. I found the interface takes some getting used to, but it is really straight forward after that, and the downloadable patches add many interesting possibilities, even from some well-known guitar players. I haven't tested it on stage (I got it in 2020 after all), but I'd say it's good enough for small gigs. If you're looking for something practical for rehearsals and (future) local gigs, this is a great choice!

Really interesting and playful

I have this product for one month and I still need to reach the bottom of all effects and combinations available. Probably it's a bit overwhelming for a newbie like me, but I already recorded some stuff and it helps a lot with inspiration. It's like it manages to express my feelings and the emotions I'd like to share with other through music.

Also the app which comes with the product it's easy to use.

An excellent processor!

An excellent processor! There are a few unused factory sounds, but flexible customization of custom presets fixes that.

The main disadvantage is that there is no support for impulses.

At this point it might be better to pay attention to "HoTone Ampero".

But I am also very pleased with my Zoom! :)

Perfect for my needs

Some people complaint about the lack of connectivity, midi and so on, but I was looking for something simple but with very good quality effects and the possibility to on / off as many effects in the chain as possible. And this is it!

Versatile, you can change patches on the fly, or have 4 contiguous effects on the chain visible to on / off them. Controls are intuitive.

Amp and cab emulation is definitely great. Zoom is sometimes underrated, I think they have great products and with this one I am pretty sure you will trick people into believing you used analog stuff.

Seriously good multieffect unit for the price!

Sturdy construction, easy to use, excellent effects, to be honest its pretty much unbeatable in this price range. There are no real cons, but zoom have scored a bit of an own goal with people like me who have previously had cheaper entry level zoom effects units. I had the G1on, and on this the lowest model (and its replacement the G1 Four), the rhythm section and looper are completely seperate from the effects patches. So you can get your drums going, record a loop, and at any point press the home button and change patches and the drums and loop will happily chug away quite independently. On the G5n both the drum machine and looper have to be added to a patch as effects taking up 2-3 slots and worst of all you cannot change to a different patch. The looper is much improved with longer recording time and an undo feature, but being confined to a single patch sucks, and not what I expected from a much more expensive zoom product. If you are not coming from a lower level zoom pedal this will probably not bother you as other brands in this price range don't have either rhythm section or looper at all, so these features are a big plus. Honestly though, the G5n is so good I couldn't bring myself to drop it a point on features given everything else is so good.

One thing I would suggest zoom consider is a global. Mic on/off feature on the speaker cabs. Typically, when using cab sims you want the mic off when playing through a guitar amp, and on when usinh headphones, recording, and going DI to a mixing desk or an Frfr speaker. I tend to play through, my amp then switch to headphones in the evening. It would by nice to be able to turn all, cab sim mics on or off as needed, but this isn't a con, just a suggestion.

To summarise, unbeatable multieffect unit at this price point, and I recommend whole heartedly.

Excellent for the price

Does everything I need effects wise and sounds good into an amp as well as straight into FRFR

Really fun pedal

This pedal is seriously great, I'm relatively new at guitar and experimenting with effects to find my own sound was starting to become quite expensive, but this pedal is helping me experiment with tonnes of different sounds without having to get a bunch of different pedals, its awesome

great but not impressive

The previous version of the Zoom G5n was a much better ME but this one isn't bad. Just not as impressive as the previous unit.

Versatile and

This is the way to go if you want a versatile option.

I'm not so used to multi effects pedals and when I got this one I was impressed by all the presets it had, making it easy to get started playing with some small changes to some of them.

The pedal also has multiple inputs and outputs making it good if you just want to practice in your room or play in a gig.

The 2 cons I could see is its weights and complexity (because of the number of presets and configurations).

Overall a great product and with good price.

The Best Multi Effect in its Price Range.

I still believe that this is the best multi effect you can find on its price range.

- 9 foot switches

- USB Recording

- It sounds really really really good.

Really really good one...LIKE ALL PEDALS CRAFTED BY ZOOM...

Already had the Gxn1 version as the entry level.

Zoom has really a wealth of sounds of great quality.

Sounds are pretty championed the same way as the Gxn1.

What stands out is the quality of the material and the possibility of having several presets playing together like an actual pedalboard. Great

Very good Performans/Price

Handling is very good . It is very light and easy to carry . Materials are very good and very tough . Pots are very stable . You can control every tone volume also main processor volume with using master volume pot and there is tone volume . You should turn tone pot to % 80 in order to get very tough tones.

Exp pedal works fine and wah , octave , volume functions are very various .

Features is also fine but the loop station is not quite easy. You need more foot touch to reach the loop station . May be this is the only thing that i do not like.

Sound quality is very good . If you can affort more time to edit with its program in pc , the sound quality will be better . You can download many tones in internet every where . It is very easy to load tones via pc . Especially lead solo , drive , crunch tones are wonderfull . Some times i use direct out to PI systems with using DI box . The result is very good and save the day . By the way there is not too much clean tones in its presets it is very hard to find proper preset . You should create your own clean tones .

Great bit of kit.

I bought the Zoom G5n, as I have tried so many pedals and at an expense. This unit has everything in one. Its very easy to set up and use. Its loaded with tones, but obviously the best part is, you can create your're own tones easily.

This is one piece of kit, which you won't get tired of.

A great purchase, recommended.
