AKG WMS 40 Mini Dual Vocal Reviews
Useful, handy and small
These small AKG vocal wireless mics are great for quite a lot of small scale applications, such as speach and karaoke. Decent range for most medium sized venues, could work outdoors, if the receiver is close to the preformers.
These should however be used with care, as they have a plastic case. They are not steel and thus, does not handle drops and shocks well.
They also have a tendency to pick up noises from the preformer handling it, such as moving it around to fast(wind noise), switching hands(thuds) and the like.
The on/off/mute on the mic is good enough, although I'd rather have a seperate mute button. Turning it on/off produces a notable pop on the speakers, while mute doesn't, but trying to get preformers to do that is rather hard with this kind of switch.
All in all, decent set of wireless mics for the price. Works great for speach, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything else.
hi
this product is not high end and price is really low, but anyway, when your buying product you would like to get quality. But not for this product. I'm using this mini set for speech nor for live singers. There is only one good thing in this set. When you put the battery in - you can forget it. I'm checking voltage often, and looks like those mic's are not taking any energy from battery at all. Another very, very bad thing is you CAN'T using both of them at one time cuz frequencies are to close.
Good things come in small packages
Astounding value for money. look good work well, simple to use.
Good quality and affordable
I've always liked AKG equipment - great quality and not overpriced. These are no exception.
The reciever is really small and neat and the handsets are robust. Sound quality is decent and they have a great range - I've left the room and the reciever has still picked me up. I bought them for use in a school, where they take a bit of a beating and they've never let me down. They can accentuate bass frequencies, but it's not too tricky to EQ that out.
So far, no crosstalk or crackling -nice and clear all the time. Battery life is good too.
This is a great unit for not a lot of money - not pro level, but reliable and hardwearing.
Nice price
Good range, enough good sound for speech and live singing. Using them in mobile setup for weddings, parties etc.
Have picked up some baby watcher signals and radio(?), so be sure to check the environment...
Good deal for the price.
Known for quality
I was a bit disappointed with the plastic feel of the mic body and they both rattled before the battery was inserted but they work great. A little bit slippery in the hand so they could be dropped if not carefully handled. That aside they work very well and sound great. Still a good buy if your on a budget!
Good set of mics
These microphones are of good quality. AKG is one of the best brands when it comes to microphones. There is a little bit of feedback when using these microphones but having said that I've only used them for one night, i might need to make some adjustments.
The unit itself is nice and compact and gives volume control over the two of the microphones. The mics feel a little plastic-y but these can withstand a good bit of knocking about. One of the mics fell twice on the night and still works perfectly, this might be due to them being so lightweight.
The wireless feature really sold these to me and overall am glad i've ordered these. I just need to figure out the best solution to combat the slight feedback.
Enough good
We bought this wireless mikes for work for small private gigs. It was used both for singers and for speakers, leading party. Enough good. Very light weight, comparing with my another more expensive microphone. One mike very soon began to make some noise, but just sometimes (but may be, because guests of party dropped it on floor, dont know)
Generally, im satisfied with quality, and price.
Not bad at all for it's price
I'm happy with these mics. As a mobile dj it's more than enough.
Just dont drop them cause they are made of plastic...
Also don't leave the talk over function on too long cause of interfearences

Excellent service
Cable spaghetti â No, thanks.
We found at last a solution for the cable spaghetti problem of our band. The usage of the AKG WMS 40 Mini Dual Vocal UHF Wireless-System is quite easy: connecting, switching on, ready. At first I had some doubts due to different stories told by our friends about interferences, crosstalks and weak signals, but after using these micros at some gigs and singing mass-songs in churches, I was perfectly satisfied and really happy. We were amazed about the excellent quality and the trouble-free transmission of the wireless-system. The micros have light weight and a great sound for this price category, clear understandable speech and bright, perfect balanced, excellent tune for songs. In my opinion, the best features are: simple, „only what is necessary“ layout, LED status and low battery control on the transmitters, status LEDs on the receiver and saving money with up to 30 hours playtime with one AA battery.
Wireless mics for the best price
Ideal for speach, conferences, seminars etc.. Easy to set into power mixer. Relatively good distance from reciever (20m) with full signal. I thing it's the best priced wireless mics on market.
AKG Mini Dual Vocal
We got these Mics for Brookfield Music Club. The Club is on the first Floor in a Community Centre and We were able to take the Mic out side the Building with no loss of sound. sound quality is very good too.
wireless microphones
Very good and cheap set of microphone wireless.Sound is ok for lectures and speeches .The wireless system is too much sensitive to interference caused by other devices such AC inverter so to avoid extremely hard noises i suggest to test the audio system before to start to use it especially in hotels with adiacent conference room.
Amazing for the price
This was actually bought for announcing at a local Roller Derby sports events. My band normally supply the PA and microphones etc for the commentators to use but equipment for a band isn't always suitable for that kind of announcing. So I thought we'd get some basic wireless mics for the commentators to use during the bouts. Most options seem to be massively expensive, which while I'm sure they're great was overkill for this sort of thing. The cheaper end though had loads of horror stories about poor signals, crosstalk, bad design. These are amazing though. Given they are one of the cheapest kits you can buy the quality is great. The kit itself is nicely presented, the mics are far superior to lots of others I've seen and the receiver is very tough and well made. It just has the feel of a more expensive unit. Sound wise, sure it's not up there with the real expensive kit, but we've had no problems at all, pick up distance is very impressive, sound quality is equivalent to a mid-range wired mic which is crazy really.
If you don't need a top-end professional set up but don't want to be ripped off with some of the awful karaoke junk out there, definitely buy these - they are far better than the price suggests.
perfect little Unit
i have these on a rack mount, i use them for mobile karaoke and discos and very impressed, would recommend to anyone, the battery life is brilliant and takes hard knocks well
Good choice for beginners
Good choice for beginners or for the repertitions, small school concerts, etc
The thing is that they feel noise if you rub them.
If you want professional microphone look at the price more than 500 euro.
Only one problem
I work in an area where everyone seems to have wireless microphones. The fact that you can't change the channels is a big problem when you switch the mics off as other transmitters get picked up. Fortunately when they are on it hasn't got this problem
The range is fairly good, and the quality is alright. It doesn't compare to an sm58, but a little bit of eq-ing can work wonders.
mini dual vocal usage
have been using this system for a number of weeks and have found it to be brilliant for karaoke and conference use would highly recommend battery life using Duracell is amazing out of 10 will give a 9 could do with a protection case to stop from being damaged
Jut the job.....
I was asked to find a suitable mic system for a local club. Ideally they were after multiple mics for conferences, meetings, etc. This package was perfect. Having the two mics pretty much made the decision but the simplicity of operation also helped. The "frequency checker" on the website to determine geographically suitable frequencies was also a big help.
