Bought this for my 11-year old son. He had been going to lessons for 6 months, and given his continued interest in drumming, we went ahead with the investment. We wanted an electronic drum set, to keep the noise levels down, especially to avoid annoying the neighbors! Of course, you can still hear him drumming the sticks onto the pads, but this is the same noise level as when he "drums" his feet against the kitchen table legs (which he does often - he just can't stop drumming!) As this is an electronic set, you need a pair of headphones to listen to the sounds being produced. We bought this as a set, so the headphones were included. We also have several headphone sets at home, and a splitter jack, so we can have two sets of headphones plugged in at the same time, and I can also...

After saving some money for a few months, i now finaly bought my new Millenium MPS-1000 in the 1-up-2 down configuration. (my) PRO'S : Big set, good hardware, the kettles/drums are of reasonable quality. The whole set gives good response, the module has enough sounds and edit-possibilities . For me the sounds are good enough, and soon i will be importing my own sounds! Comes with a software editor, so you can make and edit your own kits on your pc/mac! (my) CON'S : Unless i am missing something, there is no possibility to play (mp3) musicfiles or midifiles ! (with the mps850 this was possible) Cables running from the module to the drums are a little short. . . So i placed my module in between the hihatt and the tom. Bassdrum pedal immediately replaced by a good one, it makes a lot of...

Great starter to intermediate kit. the response is like practicing on a pad without it being too bouncy which sometimes won't give you the same feel as an acoustic kit, but this kit gives you a great in-between. The touch response is very realistic, and allows you to play dynamically. The different kits give you a great variety to play different genres, also the kits give a lot of options for percussion when recording, The sound of the kit through headphones is great, there is no distortion. the sound of the plastic is not loud and annoying, so it won't bother neighbours. overall great quality kit, very sturdy pads and strong frame.

Efnote 3 E-Drum Set

Much better than the leading brands and at a lower price. The sounds are authentic (considerably better than Roland, for example), playability is excellent, and the module is very intuitive. The ability to manipulate the individual sounds (muffling, pitch, ambience etc.) without compromising the sonic integrity of the instrument is impressive and provides ultimate flexibility for live and studio use. 8 separate outputs via USB is handy for recording into a DAW. The only slight negative worth mentioning is the low resolution black and white touch screen. It's a bit weak in contrast, brightness and fidelity, and the response is not brilliant, but this is not a big problem as the other features of the kit are so strong. I would highly recommend.

Yamaha DTX6K2-X E-Drum Set

Yamaha DTX6K2-X E-Drum Set

After trying out a lot of Yamaha, Roland, and Alesis models, the DTX6K2-X was a clear winner in its price range! It was easy enough to set up (took a bit longer than an hour), and one can really notice the quality difference between the DTX6 series and the DTX4 series (last owned set). If I could go back in time I would probably pay the extra 200 euros to get the DTX6K3-X instead, after seeing how the snare drum is built. Beautiful piece, great rebound. I only have a thin drum mat from Drum N Base underneath the set, and I live in a Berlin apartment in Wilmersdorf. I play Mon to Sat until 10 pm and so far no complaints from any neighbours, no police knocking on my door! The bass module is a huge improvement. Love how it feels. Amazing rack! Very stable, and the Snare holder is...

So I started on a Roland Td25 and I was pretty happy about it though I always wanted to have a kit which just feels real so I bought the efnote 7x. Unpacked it and while doing so it already felt very high quality and also it looks really high quality, set it up in about 30min or somethin, connected all the cables, though be aware that you fully plug them in, got on the kit and started playing and needless to say it was an experience and I love it and I still love it. The sounds are really natural. Also I heard that this kit isn't really made for metal but I must say that for me it's perfect, I made a custom kit with all the sounds in the modul and I use it to play power/heavy/death metal and also deathcore and it sounds really good. It takes a bit of time to get into the modul...

Roland TD-07DMK V-Drum Set

I needed a kit for practicing quietly at home, and this setup convinced me because of the Bluetooth connectivity. You can easily connect the module wirelessly with your phone and play along to any track or app from your phone, which is what I needed to practice entire songs. The Bluetooth connection is fast and solid, no glitches and no hassle at all. There are a lot of fun practicing exercises built in the module. The standard kits sound great, you can tune the sounds further in the settings, or just add entirely other kits from a laptop. All the hardware is top suality, the cymbal and hihat pads and toms and hihat pedal work flawlessly. The build quality is super solid, and all the elements can be easily lowered and raised and tilted exactly to your liking. So all in all a super solid...

Alesis Nitro Mesh Kit

MY EXPERIENCE Using this drum set for about a month now for jamming with my band and as an intermediate drummer I am very pleased with its overall quality. The rack and pads seem durable and of good quality. In a point of time was thinking about upgrading the drum set with a dual zone ride cymbal, since I was missing the ride bell in some beats I was playing, but after a while I noticed that if you hit the existing ride cymbal a bit harder/flat, in some preset kits it gives out the ride bell sound. This was a very satisfying discovery, since playing ride bell is quite common for intermediate drummers. I don't know why it's newer mentioned. COMPARED TO OTHER DRUMS Prior Alesis Nitro Mesh drum set, for a short period of time I had an E-Drum set from DDrum, which didn't feel quite right....

Alesis DM10 MKII Pro Kit

Had this kit for nearly a year now and still going strong, with very little signs of wear and no loss in playability. I wouldn't say I am a heavy hitter, but certainly not a soft hitter either! I feel for the price you get good return for your money as you get 4 x full size toms, a 12" snare, hi-hat, hi hat pedal, bass drum, 2 x crash and ride. Setting up the kit was very simple. The playability of the mesh heads is very good, toms and snare a good size but the cymbals I would rate as only ok. They just don't have that feel of acoustic cymbals...but this I knew was going to be the case so wasn't a surprise. The only issue I have had is out of the box I found the crash cymbals trigger to be temperamental, and quite often a hit wouldn't register. But after adjusting the settings...

Roland TD-1K V-Drum Set

It has been over a year since I got this drum set, and it is just great for beginners. Very straightforward setup and easy to jump in. The drum presets are good enough for anyone to just turn the kit on and start drumming away. Lots of advanced features are missing, which is (imo) a good thing for beginners who can then focus on their technique and timing. The sound quality is good enough for headphones and there is a possibility to connect an external sound source for a small jam/practice session. I did play around with the MIDI output, and found it to be somewhat lacking in terms of sensitivity (perhaps it was me who didn't fully tune the settings) when trying to record it in GarageBand. The compact style is great for those living in an apartment, and the pads and pedals are silent...
