Compact mic with good sound

Chose this mic for its compactness (I use it for video calls and streaming) and price. The sound is decent too. I also didn't have any mobile phone interference problems with it, unlike with some dynamic mics (e.g. Shure MV7X, Rode PodMic). Not a big fan of the narrow cylinder at the bottom in terms of design aesthetics though.

Great mic for the price

I wanted a condenser mic as a complement for my Shure SM58. I use it for vocals and guitar. Very robust and high quality.

Its a legendary mic not much to it

Its the AT2035 if you've search it up you know that is considered one of the best in its price range. Only thing to note is that this is a condenser mic and background noise is a bit of a problem but overall great product!

Is AT2035 for voice over?

Depends on your needs and purpose. I'm talking about recording spoken word, not singing or instrument recording. This experience is not from extreem low or high voice

rarities. More like midrange male and female cases.

I'm compering it to NT1A and there is ... nothing to compare.

Rode is so much fuller and natural, capturing much-much more nuances of human voices, AT2035 is limited from both ends and in the middle as well. Tested with Presonus IOStation soundcard with various voices.

2035 is probably good solo podcasting for "radio voice" when adding some plugins to pump up the voice (but this can be done with much cheaper mics also), I suppose... not sure 'couse I do not podcast but presuming because it has low cut (why els it is there? No use for voiceover at least, it thins up even female voice)... But dialogs with several participants and large diafragm condenser mic - probably not a good joice... just an opinnion, not experience.

Relyed on comparing from other users to several series 2000 AT mics, 2035 seemed to be with the best frequency range, especially compared to AT2020.

You have to try it yourself, do never relay compleatly on others opinion as far you gather enaough experience. And even then you can never predict.

Joice is yours!

Great Product

I've been using this for general work-related meetings and casual streaming for some months now and everyone I talk to is super impressed with the quality of the sound and how clear it is.

Setting it up took 10 minutes and I haven't had to make any adjustments since then.

The only thing I feel's a shame is that there's no included foam shield so I had to acquire one separately.

Good Mic for a good price

I've gotten some pretty sweet vocal and acoustic guitar tracks using this mic. For the price I really can't complain about anything.

cant beat it for the price!

I am a regular gigging musician, and in recent times have been using a condenser mic to record and stream live gigs from my shed. I was using a 500£ borrowed mic, until i had to return it to the owner.

Only having limited cash to spend on a new mic i bought this! It is used mainly for duo vocals, and with careful positioning picks up both of us fine, and also adds some nice acc guitar tone as well, although the guitar is also plugged in.

Sound wise compared to the more expensive one, I couldn't hear much difference, maybe a little less warm sounding?

It looks and feels like a nice mic, with a great cradle to hold it on the stand. Really chuffed i went for one with pad switch and low cut, as this has proved useful and makes it more usable for different recording techniques.

I cant see the need to upgrade in the future, for my needs anyway!

All pro's no cons

Sound is nice but building quality is bad

I use this mic for string instruments, solo or with piano accompaniment.

The sound is nice but I am not satisfied for its building quality.

Pro:

1)It gives clean detailed and warm sound, but it would be perfect if the sound is more open

2)It comes with a shock mount

3)Full metal body

Cons:

When I look through the light, I could see that the condenser unit is not straight. Although it doesn't effect the usage, that I am disappointed to their quality control.

I am very happy with mic, i try it as a room mic, as overhead, for vocals and background vocal, i even try guitar cab and it is pretty good no hashness or any cracks or pop. Great mic, i would like to consider next time buy same mic but with switch to omni, figure 8 and cardioid, that would be even better.

Best bang for the buck, possibly

It feels has the law of diminishing returns happens at around this price point, for large diaphragm condenser microphones. So you’ll get the best bang for the buck with the AT2035. This is mostly an opinionated observation, so it’s value may be up for debate. On paper, the AT2035 is better than the NT1, but there is a lot to consider for that to be of any relevance in actual use.

Use:

I use it to evaluate my vocals in an occasionally “noisy”, non treated room

Pros:

- The first time I monitored the microphone with active noise canceling headphones, I could hear dogs barking and birds chirping at a long distance.

- Clarity of vocals feels crazy good when using the proximity effect.

- 10 decibels padding switch in the mic

- Low cut filter directly in the mic

Cons:

- None so far

On a final note:

- It’s fine for my use case, but for actually tracking vocals, this is a large diaphragm condenser mic, and it should be used in an appropriate environment, if that's what you're doing. This thing will capture "everything". Of course you can always trim 10 decibels if you're not tracking vocals, and there is a padding switch for that, and a low cut too.

Great Mic

the Audio TechnicaAT 2035 is a great sounding microphone, this mic is for my surprise, very sensible to catch sound. The Sound clarity of this mic is great. Very cristaline sound and a superb warmth, I cant believe that for such a little money you get a Microphone for hi quality productions, you do not really need to pay hundreds more, this mic is all you need for top vocal and instrument recordings. For this price, you will not find anything better.

Pros

Sound clarity and warmth at its best

Cons

none
