Great little mics, potential with small processing

would recommend to have in possession, can be handy for general recording and can do most of what you would need with correct positioning and post EQ

Very good for the price

I was pleasantly surprised by the feedback from my sound engineer who complimented the sound coming from the Behringer C-2s when we miked the drums up and used these as the overheads. Can't fault the package - 2 mics, wind guard, mic clips, bar for mounting both on a mic stand.

For the price, this is great

Behringer impresses again with very affordable equipment. Not perfect of course, but will do most of what you need.

My first overheads...

I've been tracking down overhead mics for a while, since I record live drums now. I was thinking of buying a Samson DK707 kit, but I ended up going with the 705 and these bad boys and I'm very pleased. Surprisingly clarity in the top end, picks up cymbals really well. The high pass and 10db pad are nice features, but it's a shame they can't be used at the same time. Despite their incredibly low price point, these are a steal!

Decent budget small diaphgram microphones

I bought those as a backup for my different set of small condenser mics that I use to mic up drums and occasionally to track some ambient sounds, violins and acoustic guitars and they work fairly good from drums but they don't sound that great for use with instruments that require to pickup tiny characteristics and pure tones of string instruments. Decent built quality and they also have a built in high pass filter and -10 db level reduction switch which are a nice additions but the sound I would describe as pretty thin and not really suitable for tracking other instruments than drum cymbals, etc, but then there is their price and you can't really ask for more from these.

Great value

Bought to use as drum overheads, acoustic guitar and guitar amp mic. Brilliant at each of these and the hi-pass filter is good for excluding traffic noise etc.

Great Stereoset for the money

If you want to try stereo recording you should give a chance to these microphones. Small, light and portable. They will pick up audio with low noise and distortion. You have a mechanical switch right on the unit to either use a low cut filter or an attenuation in case your audio source is too hot. The quality of the units for the price is incredible. Of course these are not high end stereo microphones but they sure will allow newcommers to the world of audio recording to get familiar with stereo recordings for a reasonable price. Just remember that these mics do require phantom power to work.

disguised omni

These microphones have somewhat high sensitivity from the rear. Also, with these mics I tend to get booming or resonating tones more frequently when recording a choir. I'm thinking that these might not be the most suitable mics for that purpose.

Good price

I run a small PA and lighting business and corporate with many different bands and companies. Therefore it is very important to have good equipment.

Usually I only use microphones by "famous" manufactures. I have mics by Audix, Shure, Sennheiser and Electro Voice in my bag.

But a friend of mine, who plays in an acoustic band, needed a pair of good and cheap microphones for his congas. Actually they play very small venues most, so it was not that important to have very good microphones. But nevertheless these guys do a good job. They amplify the conga quite well through the PA systems.

And all the other cheap condenser microphone pairs are not better at all. In my opinion, you can buy the Behringer or the Rode NT5. But in this price range you do not get anything better.

Good stereo paired mic set

It's not mind blowing in terms of sound. I find them a little dull but some could hear this as "flat" which, in a way is good. They are cheap but they do a good job on overheads, or for close acoustic guitar miking. I even used them as close drum mics and they were surprisingly responsive. In either case thy are a bit dull in sound and you need a bit of EQ (before or after depending on taste and method) to bring the brilliance in the instruments.

They feel solid as they have a little weight in them, featured with a -10Db pad and a low cut filter they do what they say on the tin. As first buy for a paired mic set it's a really good first and affordable investment for live, home studio and various other things. Recommended.

Very decent mics.

Using them for quite some time now, also as overheads for drum recording. Really decent mics, especially for the price!

Surprisingly Excellent

I purchased these microphones as an upgrade for a set of Gatt Audio Microphones. In that set the overhead condensers could not handle the diversity of range required for micing up the variance of cymbal frequencies but all also added amplification of toms and percussion.

Surprisingly for a budget microphone the Behringer C2 Stereoset accommodated all of this well. Set up in the XY/Coincident Pair format which allows for guaranteed mono compatibility these microphones performed very well. As I use percussion also, the three settings on the microphones allow for great diversity from cowbells to the variance of tom sounds. I would highly recommend these mics to anyone looking to start using overheads.

The build quality is also excellent with a sturdy outer shell and aesthetically pleasing finish.

Can't argue at the price

I wanted to start buying a range of microphones of different types and patterns to build a basic set. At this price, I couldn't go wrong so took a shot on these. They are quite nice overall, very small in design, almost toy like. The set comes with an adapter for the microphone cradles to allow easy set up of an XY stereo pair, which I thought was a great addition. The sound overall lacks bottom end but overall is quite pleasant for entry level and mid level studio and field recording. I AB tested these against a pair of C1000s and found the C1000s ahead. This is a horses for courses microphone. If you aren't going to be picking over frequencies in fine detail, or more over if the end result doesn't require this then its a good choice for a budget. Professionally these have got most of their use recording performances for GCSE music coursework and as such are arguably overkill in relation to the required audio quality.

Short but sturdy

I bought two pairs of these little mics and ran them against my AKGs. Have to say they performed very well indeed and the fact that you get a pair for the price of one AKG (Perception 150) makes them excellent value for money. I love my AKGs and use them in a variety of situations, but will now use these C2s in the same place.

The only thing I would say is being short and stubby the stand and mic clip body can end up being closer to a sound source than some may be used to, particularly acoustic guitars, so some ingenuity with regard to stand arms (use of shorrt booms etc) may be necessary.

I found them particularly useful for miking up junior school readers for a Christmas presentation. They are designed for recording, but have a great live sound and their feedback rejection is impressive.

If you need some good solid workhorse condenser mics and need to be very "cost-effective" grab yourself a couple of pairs of these great little mics

Cheap paired mics

Absolutely very cheap and usable pair of condenser mics. I was surprised for the sound of these - I was expecting a lot worse, but I was delighted. These mics can be used for drum overhads, hihat, acoustic guitars and wind Instruments. Padding is usable an working.

Many uses for this mic

although a tiny bit noisy, these mics are a great all round set, I have used them on everything from studio vocals to drum overheads (and even as a kick and snare mic in a pinch!) and they always deliver a reasonable, clear sound

C2 Microphone

I was really surprised by the build and quality of the microphones, They are not what I had expected for such a budget price. I would have expected to pay a lot more if I had been looking at this build quality in a store.

Sound pick up is very directional with reasonable isolation. They have a good frequency response range, with an excellent voice reproduction.

Use either as a matched stereo pair or as a singleton and spare. I will defiantly be investing in another pair soon.

A Good Set of Mics

I bought this product three years ago and have since used them on a number of occasions.

Having previous used the Behringer B2 mics I purchased this stereo set for centre sound reinforcement. I have been surprised at the quality of the audio that these mics pick up, they great for both live and recording use and the mic stand adapter is great as it reduces the need for two stands. The mics themselves are a good quality. The all metal body of the mics makes them much more robust and I have also found the switchable attenuation useful.

Overall for those working on a budget, doing home recording or running a small PA, I would highly recommend this product.

An excellent mic set for the price

I bought these when I first got into recording for tracking drums. I still use these mics now.

They are great for stereo sources such as a drum kit, piano or choir as well as mono sources.

I have used these mics for drums, piano, acoustic guitar amongst others.

They give a fairly transparent sound and don't add much tonally.

The first set of these I had broke (one of the mics developed a crackling noise). Behringer were quick to send out a replacement set.

The mics come supplied in a decent carry case and come with a stereo mounting plate and wind guards.

Good microphones

Very good microphones for the price. You get what you pay for. Used for guitar amps, acoustic guitars, pianos, drums. Work really well
