Behringer C-2 Stereoset 4-stars Reviews
I use them on cymbals, they really sound amazing.
A bit noisy
There is a difference between the noise floor on this and on more expensive mics. For the price it's great but I did sell it eventually.
Can't go wrong for the price
I use them for hihat and ride cymbals mainly. Very crispy very nice. A liitle too brigth for overheads but not bad for that use either
Impressive sound for the price!
This mics are for begginers only? I don't think so! I have used them on my acoustic guitar and it sounds pretty good for me. I already used more expensive mics and this one didn't let me down! Specially when you consider that the guitar is part of the mix and not the most important element in the recording, you'll realize that these can be great for the buck! A good investment!
Good result
As a Behringer product, we already know that it isn’t made with the best components… by the way, It doesn’t mean that the product don’t sounds good. When well used is possible to achive excelent results with this microphones. I recomend.
nice mic for acoustic guitar
great mic for the price and do the job
Great mics for the price
Clear, bright, perfect for drum overheads
Cheap and decent sounding mics
I bought these mics to use as overheads for a drum recording situation. I quickly upgraded to using a stereo xy mic from RODE, but I still use these mics from time to time for additional room mics. I have also recorded
guitar from time to time with these mics with decent results.
If you're looking for a very cheap way to build up your mic collection, this is a decent way to go!
Good, not great
Got these to use as overhead mics for my drum kit. They sound quite tinny and harsh to my ears and were not really what I was looking for. On the other hand, they will record an acoustic guitar very well. You get a nice case with everything you need to put them on your mic stands. Nice to be able to roll off the low end with a switch on the mic. Overall not impressed, but not disappointed. For the price I am happy with this product!
Cheap but gold
Cheap stereo set, but the sound is not cheap.
Good mics for drum overs
I'm extremely happy with those mics as overs for drums and the time cut switch they have works great , also they come with a very nice packaging
Stereo Microphone
Clean and clear sounding pair of microphones - not overly sensitive but great for stereo acoustic guitar or overhead situation.
Usual great value from Behringer
Use:
I use these for recording acoustic guitar in a semi-pro studio
Pros:
Stupidly good value for a stereo pair of mics
Decent solid construction
Low cut and gain reduction switch
Comes with box and twin mic holder - very useful, especially for X/Y configs when recording acoustic guitar
Cons:
Only con is having the low cut and gain reduction switches on the same slider. Limits the functions to flat, low cut, low cut + reduction, but does not allow for reduction with no frequency attenuation. Minor point, I know, but some may find this a limiting factor in certain applications.
I would definitely recommend this set to people, and have been doing so since I bought it a few months ago.
What can I say they just work!
Needed small condenser mic for acoustic guitar recording. Hd a look around but needed a budget option as cash was scarce. Settled on the little Behringers and they didn't disappoint. Capture and present a true sound of the instrument perfectly.
It's not Neumann KM184's but then at this price point you don't expect them to be. If you find you need a budget option look no further. Can't fault them, just perfect.
They're good
for the price they're good, they work
come with alot of things in the box, case is nice
one started making a low frequency buzz so i threw it at a wall and its fine now
Remarkable
I've been experimenting with them as overheads on drums, under the snare and for tuned hand percussion and kalimba.
As you have probably noticed, these microphones are absurdly cheap. I got them just to see what they were like. Compared to an AKG C414 they are not as full down below 100Hz and have an enhanced brightness up top. That being said they work fine as overheads. That extra brightness can be softened with a little eq.
I haven't got a pair of Neumans to to a direct comparison but then again I've got £969 more in the bank than if I had !!!
I have spent an absurd amount on some specialist mics in the past. It's not always been money will spent. These are great to get started and learning how to mic things up.
Amazing value for the price
Nice inexpensive stereo set with stereo bracket
Noise floor is a tad high (just like the specs say), and the spacer bracket provided is quite nice. With low cut filter or -10dB pad - if you need the latter, the noise floor probably won't be a problem. Ridiculously cheap and nice flat response.
Good for what they are.
If you accept these are budget mics, they are cool. I use mine as a not worried about overhead set when club gigging, and they do the job perfectly. Probably not the best as a high level studio mic, but that's missing the point. Great as my go to mics for quick gigging without worries.
Great Budget Microphones
An amazing entry level Small Diaphragm Condenser Mic stereo pair.
Surely, there will be better, more expensive condenser mics. But if your aim is overall good quality - both in built and response - while on a budget, then you certainly will be hard pressed to find a set of SDC's with as good a value as Behringer’s C-2 set.
