Behringer EQ700 Reviews
Decent Eq but sucks the tone out of my acoustic
For the price itâs a great pedal but you should expect your tone to feel a bit duller when you turn the pedal on with a flat eq setting. This. An be compensated but itâs not a transparent pedal.
Affordable and Functional Sound Shaping Tool
PROS
- When it comes to fulfilling its role as an equalizer, the EQ700 proves to be dependable.
- With each fader at 0, there is no loss of volume and no change in the sound of the guitar
- The plastic case seems robust enough
CONS
- One noticeable downside is the switch, which emits a less-than-reassuring click when engaged and feels somewhat cheap. While this might not impact its core functionality, it does affect the overall user experience.
- A minor but helpful addition would be a reference notch indicating when the faders are set at the neutral position (0).
- If intended for regular stomping during live performances, the EQ700 might raise reservations due to its plastic knobs and switch. However, if used primarily as an "always on" pedal, these concerns might not be as relevant.
It's an eq, what can I say
Very similar to the Boss GE7. The only downsides i can find is that there is no "notch" for the sliders at 0 dB like on the Boss, and the case is plastic. But for the price it'll do the job pretty darn well.
A very servicable EQ pedal
First off, this pedal does exactly what it says on the tin and im very happy with it for my studio use. The only thing letting this pedal down is its build quality. Its cheap plastic but you already know that.
I needed a cheap EQ pedal for studio use and this is it. I didnt need to play extra for a metal housing because i didnt need it. If you are planning to tour with this thing then maybe look somewhere else
Decent EQ
This pedal is very good value. It opens up a very wide range of tones and also acts as a great volume boost in front of your amp. I was able to get a much clearer tone out of my humbucking pick-ups and punch and definition to fuzz and overdrive pedals which I learned a lot from.
Good price, flimsy buttons.
I like the frequency band setup, but the buttons feel flimsy. I use it for gigging, connected in FX loop and it gets the job done for me.
Works great, but mind your gain staging
Good value for money, a little lacking in headroom. If you're running it further down the effects chain, I'd advise cutting over boosting. Plastic case wont take a kicking - don't kick it.
Good value quality/price
It is a little bit noisy, but just a little. Useless for recording, just OK for guitar, really handy when it comes to EQ a mic and rise their signal or a stompbox; something like that.
Great deal for the money. Dont let you cheat about the plastic cover, the thing is durable, even if you stomp on it like hell (I do and after 3 years still like new.
Can't better!
Very good!
For this amount, you can't find better EQ on market.
Plastic but still fantastic
This isn't a super durable design (all plastic) and doesn't feel the best to use.
HOWEVER
This is the cheapest 'real' EQ pedal that just works a charm, in the best way possible it has no 'sound' and just allows you to shape the tone how you like. I can't recommend it highly enough, the only thing is that if you are travelling a lot then you might want a more expensive one with a metal enclosure (that's probably double the price) just for the peace of mind.
Very high noise floor, practically unusable
This pedal is my first guitar EQ pedal. Once turned on it has a very audible hiss noise. Ironically the hiss can partially be lowered by lowering the highs on the unit itself, but not removed.
It might be ok for players with a very distorted tone that need to shape their signal before the distortion or tame the low end a bit, otherwise, I do not see it as usable at all.
I am sure my unit works is not broken as the hiss sounds like a stacked noise of many noisy mic preamps, and not like any buzz or rattle of bad wiring, or RF interference.
I do not care it is plastic, it feels quite capable of years of studio use for instance.
Pros: It is an eq pedal, the EQ part of it works as expected, mechanically it is ok for the price.
Cons: Practically unusable because of its high noise floor. If you need a noise making machine this thing is great, but as an eq pedal for any cleanish guitar tone it is hopeless.
A great, low-cost EQ pedal
Since it's basically a recreation of the BOSS EQ pedal, the 7-band EQ does a great job of shaping your tone with focused frequency ranges. The level slider also turns this pedal into a great boost pedal if you push the volume above unity.
Great for beginners.
Easy to use, very cheap, and it works perfectly fine for me.
Very fun to mess around and try out and hearing the difference in what sound your guitar can produce with a slide.
Smart design, just like your reliable BOSS pedals. You can stomp it on or off without being afraid of hitting the EQ sliders.
Handy Tool
This thing reacts in a surprisingly stately manner. It sounds terrific. Best used in a studio environment due to the plastic.
Unbelievable!
An EQ pedal may not be sexy, but what a difference it makes. It makes everything sound better. I can adjust the sound of a fuzz from 'Satisfaction' to a sticky bassy velcro sound! Amazing.
Predominantly I play blues and this is great for dialing in different tones. Even just leaving everything centered and turning it on makes everything sound better.
A must have piece of kit.
EQ is EQ.
For shaping my sound, bumping mids or scoooping out, compensating for the inherent EQ-profile of other effect pedals etc. this does whats needed in a simple and cheap package. Plenty good enough for my home studio and practice.
I guess you could break the plastic enclosure by putting on boots and stomping down hard, so for hardcore stage use and touring something in a metal enclosure might be better suited. Or, buying two of these to have one as backup. Still cheaper than many alternatives.
Ridiculously powerful tool
The amount of tweaking you can do with this thing is enormous.
100% worth the buck.
fair product
For the price, is just neat. Behringer nails every single part of the circuit it bases its analog pedals on at a ridiculous price. Of course, no one gives a dollar for a cent so the chassis is quite weak. If you expect that this product survive an energetic gig kicking it every two songs, you're gonna be quite dissapointed. But if you have a switching system on your pedalboard, that's the least of the problems with these pedals.
Extremely good for the price
This pedal flawlessly allows you to EQ your sound. The only tradeoff at this price is the build quality at which it is plasticky and knobs feel flimsy.
recomend!!!
good equalizer for a decent price
