Very high noise floor, practically unusable

This pedal is my first guitar EQ pedal. Once turned on it has a very audible hiss noise. Ironically the hiss can partially be lowered by lowering the highs on the unit itself, but not removed.

It might be ok for players with a very distorted tone that need to shape their signal before the distortion or tame the low end a bit, otherwise, I do not see it as usable at all.

I am sure my unit works is not broken as the hiss sounds like a stacked noise of many noisy mic preamps, and not like any buzz or rattle of bad wiring, or RF interference.

I do not care it is plastic, it feels quite capable of years of studio use for instance.

Pros: It is an eq pedal, the EQ part of it works as expected, mechanically it is ok for the price.

Cons: Practically unusable because of its high noise floor. If you need a noise making machine this thing is great, but as an eq pedal for any cleanish guitar tone it is hopeless.

Not of serviceable quality

I ordered this to adjust the EQ of my guitar and boost the signal. The problem was that, on a battery, the pedal added noise to the signal, a heavy hiss in a rotating phaser type of pattern. This was exaggerated by the dirty tone on the amp. On the power supply it was even worse. The body is very plasticky and poor quality. The way the unit opens to change the battery is a joke. You have to remove the foot stitch by means of a spring loaded plastic piston at each side which you have to somehow at the same time, and replacing it is even more difficult. I was afraid I would break it. The EQ and the Db boost worked as it should, but there was just too much noise, so I returned it for a refund .............. :-(
