Behringer TO800 Vintage Tube Overdrive 5-stars Reviews
Good sound for good money despite the plastic case
I use it for gigging with my Bugera T50. It is used for boosting the lead channel and it makes it good for playing more gainy music like punk or metal. I don't mind the plastic case, because the price is just unbeatable.
great!
a great clone of the famous overdrive. it is plastic but decent quality.
Dead-on TS clone
It's a dead-on TS clone - the only drawback is the plastic case. However, it's very sturdy plastic, so it should last for a substantial perod. You should have a power supply ready because it has a rather odd battery slot.
I use it as a boost pedal (always on): right after a wah with 0 drive, tone at 9 o'clock and level maxed. If you stack a dirtier OD, or a distortion after it you get great rock and blues tones through a tube based amp.
Great tube screamer clone
Sounds great especially for the price. Great for home use.
At first i wasn't very impressed with it but as i started experimenting i managed to get the sounds i wanted out of it, it's made of plastic so don't expect to throw it under a bus and for it to survive
Good sound. Not for live use.
Used with Strymon Iridium in bedroom.
Plastic will not stand up to abuse. Sound is great though.
Stunning sounds for the money!
I wanted to get a TS for little cash, and this does not disappoint. It sounds identical to the TS808 to my ears. Awesome stuff.
No noticeable difference from the tube screamer
I know this review will hurt the gear snobs out there (and I could not care less ;)
But there is not difference from the more expensive tube screamer pedals - Sounds absolutely great.
The casing is a bit fragile though.
Great affordable tube screamer sound
First of all, the downside: yes, it is plastic but I knew that before i decided to buy it.
On the other hand, this is an very versatile tube screamer clone that sound so much more expensive then it is. I use it mainly for stacking but it is more than good enough to be used on its own. You could even use it as a boost if you turn the gain all the way down. In that way, it might even be worth having more then once on your pedal board...
Great tones for great price
I've seen reviews of this pedal against the Ybanez TS, and I totally agree that they sound the same. When I unboxed this beast, I was astonished by the clean drive tones I can get. It can range from light crunch to heavy distortion. I love it to bits! Hope it will last though, as is commonly the problem with Behringer products they say. I will see for myself. Totally worth it!
Behringer TO800
The product is just amazing! Just go for it!
I use it front of an peavey 5150 II head and it just killer.
Pro:
sounds great
Cheap
Con: Not really , maybe the plastic housing but its still pretty neat, sturdy.
Just go to youtube ,choose any comparsion video Behreinger vs Maxon OD 808 or vs TS808 vs TS9
you gonna be suprised!
Best 24 euros spend, ever, period.
Good sound
Its sound is good
The build quality is acceptable, especialy for home use
All controls work as expected and don't need any explanation
I find a bit inconvenient to replace the battery
For 24 euro it's an excellent tube screamer
Sounds good
Very nice sound from this pedal.
Just by reading other reviews I was expecting a cheap enclosure but not so cheap. There is no feedback when pressing the stomp switch.
Wouldnt move this pedal out of the house.
Hey Behringer
I dont think that your customers would mind paying 1-2 USD more for a better enclosure.
Won't get a better pedal for the price. Love this pedal!
A plastic tubescreamer
It sounds exactly like a tubescreamer which is one of the greatest overdrives made. For this price you can't go wrong
Good Cheap Overdrive Pedal
Nice Overdrive Pedal. feels cheap but sound great
TS-9 copy!
It produces a sound similar to TS-9 (no differences for my ears), which is not surprising, given that it is assembled on the same element base (the same chip, etc.). Of the minuses, the assembly of the base is rather mediocre and the jack falls out of the socket periodically. But if used in pedalboard assembly or at home for recording, no problem
Great sounding excellent value for money effects pedal.
The tube screamer in a plastic case =D
I use it in a small pedal board for fast rehearsals mainly and when re-amping heavy guitars at home. I have TS9 and compared it B2B with the TO800 and I can say that it's dead on, sound is just exact as the TS9. The only issue is the plastic casing yet has a good feel to it and if you treat well your gear it could last many years for sure.
TO800, buy it
Just go ahead and buy it. Nice subtle overdrive, can't over do it but if you want more get a distortion pedal. Good sounds on my HB amp clean channel. Yes its plastic but feels like good plastic.
