Behringer UMC1820 5-stars Reviews
Best bang for your buck.
All the features are genius, everything is very sturdy.
Perfect for my setup
I use it to records separate, live tracks into Logic. The 5 pin midi on this has been really useful. Quiet amp. Solid build. Knobs are not wobbly. I wasn't quite sure what to expect from an 8 in 8 out audio interface at the sort of price I can afford but this is a brilliant piece of kit.
Worth every cent
I bought this for the my first recording studio. I have to say it saved me alot of money and even after so many years the thing is super solid and I have not had a single issue.
surprisingly good!
Had to replace my old trusty FA-101 that stopped working due to incompatible drivers, was looking for some budget solution with similar options (10 inputs, 10 outputs, MIDI) - money was tight and I needed a replacement fast so I opted for Behringer (with a little fear - I am not exactly a fan of Behringer and also wasn't sure how well it's going to perform latency-wise, my previous interface was Firewire and this one is USB). I have to say that the interface is stellar - easy installation, everything runs smooth, the sound is good and latency even better than my prior Firewire interface (I am able to go down to 64 samples buffer with Behringer on my old 3rd gen i7 laptop and it performs perfectly even in large projects). No issues have appeared after a half year of use either so I can only recommend it. Good job, Behringer!
amazing service
The product was available, the assistance was always ahead of the needs ,i´m just waiting for the package
A great multi input Interface!
Got it for 1/2 the price I could source locally in Australia!
Plugged it in after installing the proprietary drivers.
NO issues, my DAW picked it up straight away and all the multiple inputs were there for me to select per track!
Nice, QUIET mic preamps! I cranked up the volume and no hiss!
Seems to be AS good, (if not better ) than a lot of the more expensive competitors!
NEVER had any problem with any Behringer audio equipment!
Quality Midas Mic Preamps make this my "go to" for recording vocals
Having a mixing stage and Midas pre amps makes the Behringer UMC1820 a must have for my studio recording. My artist Mairk has used this paired with an AKG P220 for most of their recordings. Additional inputs and as I also use ADAT, the lightpipe additional inputs are a neat bonus.
Does exactly what it's supposed to
Wanted something with enough inputs to have my drum kit permanently plugged into my PC while also having access to a couple of ports for plugging in guitars and singing mics when needed. The buttons, switches and dials have a "heavy" quality feel to them. I am very happy to own this piece of gear.
Perfect for drum players and studios
This product was a surprisingly good purchase, as i did not expect its preamp quality. As this model has been upgraded with better preamps, its sound has become much better and it is perfect for drum players that wish to do their recordings or studios that need more inputs. I have no complaints about this product.
The interface of my life
I have been using many interfaces until now, this one is my favorite so far. It has enough inputs and outputs for my needs and the quality is great. the only thing that is missing are the line inserts to connect other gear effect directly, but still this audio interface is great for its price and would recommend it to anyone
Great interface
It's amazing that you can get such quality from something so cheap. Don't be put off by the price it's a great unit and SO easy to use. Paired with the 8 channel expansion this is all you really need to record a band.
bang for one's buck
You can’t get better than the UMC1820 around this price range
Best 8 mic/line pream audio interface for the money
Great midas preamps with clean and noiseless sound. Usefull phantom power switches for simultaneous use of phantom power required and non required devices. Easy to install. Very good audio interface if you need to track up to 8 sound sources. Has only one downside, the right part of the device heats up pretty good. Keep in mind if you mount it in the rack with other hot devices.
An absolute beast for the price!
So, you get 8 input channels with great preamps, 2 headphone jacks which (if need be) allow you to route a separate mix to each via your DAW, easy real-time monitoring, MIDI IN/OUT, not to mention a variety of other useful buttons, knobs, and ports... all of that for the cost of many lesser audio interfaces? Sign me up!
The sound quality is great. Out of the box, I was having some strange issues witch digital clicking and popping, but they were gone after updating the drivers, so make sure you do that before you panic.
When it comes to output latency, 256-384 buffer size seems like the sweet spot if you are also running some software instruments and effects. Quite standard. A live instruments- and analogue-only setup could probably be pushed even further, but I have not fully tested that.
The only questionable "quirk" of my unit is input 7 making a humming noise even with its gain knob turned all the way down, but the moment I plug anything into it, the noise disappears, so I just make sure to keep it in use.
To sum up, this does not look or feel like a 200-dollar interface – it is solid and packed with features. If you are on a budget, I would definitely recommend this one.
Well Made Device!
This is great interface. It worked without any issues. I love it. It is durable and sounds amazing. I would definitely purchase a second one for live recording. Thank you for a great product.
Super
Amazing for the price!
Excellent Audio Interface.
I actually but the model down from this last year for my son.
It was so good that when I needed a rack mountable version with more options I didn’t hesitate to buy one of this.
Im really pleased with it 👍
Great value
It's practically plug and play on my mac.
The sound is indistinguishable from that of my old (and expensive) RME interface (which couldn't handle the number of synths I've been stacking).
I've never felt a hint of latency.
There's very little not to like - if Behringer's choice of ports is exactly what you need this is probably the best (and at the same time - cheapest) product you can get.
brilliant interface
works well, input and outputs are clean
A fantastic audio interface for the price!
I use this for recording drums and it has never let me down. It may be cheap but it's jam-packed full of features, and it does not feel like a beginner oriented product.
