Behringer UMC1820 5-stars Reviews
Great value for money.
For this price a very worthy addition to any small studio. Good sound print and a lot of I/O.
good interface
really enjoy working with Behringer product really good price and give a good professional sound
if you start your home studio i will say it's a really good starting point
A simple to use and quality sounding interface.
It does exactly as advertised.
Pros:
Cost, features, footprint, sound quality
Cons:
There is no way to adjust the recording frequency on the actual device.
Great choice
I've used the other smaller version of the UMC INterface.
Great value for the money. Plenty of in's and out's for small studio needs.
The sound quality is good and clean.
In my opinion, a great option if you are looking for an interface with a lot of connectivity at this price point.
A fine piece of kit
This was bought as a replacement for Moto 8 PRE, and it is far superior. Low noise, good pre amps. A steal for the price, it really is
Better then expected
I upgraded my computer and the new chipset and expansion modality bricked my focusrite firewire card, so i had to buy something new ...
I ended up with this behringer and to my surprise, it sounds great
works perfectly
It just works exactly how I want it to
UMC1820 Very Good
working perfectly as needed. no issue with Cubase and other tools I am using with Synths and guitars.
Excellent
You really can't fault this product for the price. I had a Presonus 1818 vsl and it didn't even have some of the features the UMC 1820 has i.e. 2 headphone inputs. I also noticed (for the better) a slight difference in latency which is a bonus in computer music. No real cons about the UMC1820 other than 2 inputs at the front the other 6 on the back panel which is something to take into consideration as to were you are going to place the unit in your setup, but for me the push button features on the front outweigh the con, again something the Presonus did not have. With regards sound quality the sound was crystal clear. The UMC 1820 would be asset to your hardware collection.
Great product
Really easy to use, super straightforward to set up with a DAW and extremely clean channels with all the MIDAS preamps.
No complaints here
Punches way above its price range
There's a lot of snobbery around the Behringer brand and I think that's the only possible reason for this product being so affordable. I run a pro studio that deals mainly with post production, composition for tv and film and a lot of work in the box. I do also record full drum kits and other things that call for more inputs. I bought this to give me that flexibility for those occasions I need to set up more ins and outs.
The UMC1820 easily stands up pre-amp and A/D conversion wise against my equivalent Apogee gear which costs a lot more. Sure, I need to drive the input gain a little harder on quiet sources but the noise floor is so low it really doesn't make a difference. For a whole project I just ran everything in and out of the UMC1820 and the end result was just as good as the projects I recorded using my Apogee gear. Anyone who says you can't deliver professional audio work using Behringer gear is just plain wrong - I've done it and will continue to do so!
I learned to record using a really similar PreSonus interface. Anyone looking to set up a home studio or even just add really affordable inputs and outputs to a pro setup should look no further. This really does everything you need. I've just ordered the ADA8200 ADAT to add another 8 ins to this and I can't think of many recording situations which would call for more.
Really superb gear at an unbeatable price point. Buy one and start making music. More expensive gear won't suddenly make your recordings better, this is definitely good enough!
Great piece of equipment.
Great piece of equipment.
Great buy for low cost recording
Im using this interface for recording our bands rehearsals and demos of new songs. After long research Ive decided for Behringer UMC1820 and Im glad i did. with decent microphones youll get very good sound (using 4 mics for drums and rest of inputs for guitar, bass, synths and vocals). I really can recommend it.
you cant go wrong for the money
used it in my home studio for recording heavy guitar/base/drums/vocals. The preamps sound nice, there is a little coloring but nothing out of the ordinary.
For high gain stuff you wont hear a difference compared to much more expensive interfaces. if you are a beginner you can save that money and invest in better mics that absolutely have more impact on the sound.
I had it for some months now, no reliability issues so far.
Top choice
I had a UMC404HD and was already happy with it. I bought this one to have more inputs/outputs.
It works plug and play on Mac. Even on Big Sur with Macbook M1.
BONUS: on-off switch on frontface!
How can they do this at this price!
Amazing value for money. Good sound quality, great features, easy to set up.
Amazing product!
Great product to start of your home studio! Lots of inputs and outputs! Perfect for drum recordings as you will need many mic inputs! Really happy with this product!!
If you are on the fence, buy this interface
This interface is excellent. The mic pres are great and no noise. Having 8 channels is great for recording drums. It worked seemlessly with my DAW and was recognised straight away. I have recently bought an 8 mic pre to expand the inputs up to 16.
My only complaint would be the fact the inputs are split between 2 on the front and 6 and the back. Causing the wires to be a bit messy.
Highly recommend this as a budget friendly option for anyone wanting to get into recording with a large number of inputs.
For the price its awesome
Great interface for the money!
The biggest bang for your buck especially if you need inputs.
Previously had the 4 channel version, needed more inputs. For the price it can't be beaten. If they make a MK2 I would recommend better input meters and changing the the knobs to easily distinguish between channels and all other controls. I use this with a Mac with no issues whatsoever.
