beyerdynamic DT-1770 Pro 250 Ohm Reviews
Great cans
Lovely balanced sound, comfortable strap and ear pads. Case useful and replaceable leads are handy
A high-quality headphone.
Well built feels very sturdy and is of high quality. The detachable cable is excellent since if I accidentally break the connector as I've done with one of my other headphones, I can replace the cord instead of having to replace the whole unit.
These headphones don't have active noise cancellation and rely on sound isolation. The sound isolation on these headphones is very good, it blocks out a great deal of sound, and the sound it fails to block out is at least greatly subdued.
I found the audio itself to be very enjoyable. I won't delve into the technicals as I simply lack the knowledge to (I'm not much of an audiophile). Though out of the headsets I've owned (DT-770 pro and the Fidelio X2HR) I enjoy these the most, the bass feels powerful and the vocals are clear.
The case is a nice added bonus, not of much use to me, but I can imagine how it can come in handy to others. Two cables are provided with the headphone, one where the cable is spiralled and one standard cable.
Overall well worth the purchase.
Superb
I'm a big fan of DT 770 and have owned a pair for almost 10 years, so I thought it was time for an update.
Wow. The sub bass is so well defined (try for example Drake's "Free Smoke") compared to the 770s. The build quality is outstanding as well as the comfort.
The pads on the 1770s are a bit harder than the ones I have on my 770s but I actually find that satisfying since the headphones sit more snugly and my ears do not touch the back side of the cup, which is the case with 770s after a couple of years of heavy use (they deform to fit your head but also squash a little bit).
A great buy.
Great studio headset for the price
DT 1770 Pro, great product.
Just a bit of a pickle, those Tesla drivers are unfortunatly really hard to get as spare parts if you got any issues with them (which i do)
very good headphone for recording
super high end headphones with a neat quality and high range you dont lose anything in mix
Great closed back headphones for the price
I picked these up as an upgrade to my DT 770 Pro, but for context I am no audio engineer, just a person who enjoys music.
The first thing that stands out is the deep, impactful bass response, the 1770 can really deliver due to the closed back design. I'd say the midrange is fairly even, but the treble can be a bit fatiguing. I wouldn't say it's sibilant, to my ears at least, but if you're looking for enjoyment I can recommend a nice tube amplifier to round off those peaks a bit.
For electronic music though, these are amazing as is. I listen to a lot of acoustic music as well however, and they do fine, but sound slightly analytical.
The comfort is the second thing I want to point out, it doesn't get tight enough where it's uncomfortable, but the clamping force is quite intense. This also means the earpads will need to be replaced more often, since they started to flatten in a few months in my case.
Build quality is pretty solid, as you would expect with beyerdynamic. The cracking slider issue with the original series seems to be fixed, but sometimes when turning the earcups an unpleasant "cracking" noise can be heard from the yoke part getting impacted on the slider.
incredible sound
I've previously used the audio technica mx50 and sony 1000mx3. The 1770 pros are amazing really good sound so pleased I picked these up. The clarity is incredible can really hear more layers in music tracks, works well for gaming too they do need a preamp or soundcard to power them sufficiently well worth it. Build quality is also very impressive.
absolutely great
This headphones do their job well and I can't say anything bad about it.
It comes with two cables and a good durable hard case.
The quality of the headphones is super high level, and the same about the sound, that is crystal clear.
The only thing that can be considered as a con, is that its hard to work with them for a long period of time because your ears get tired.
In conclusion, the headphones are worth it and its really pleasant to work with them.
ET Phone Home
Best phones I've ever owned. Very comfortable, I could go to bed wearing these and I have done on a few occasions, great for blocking out undesirable night noises (like the wife snoring which became quite irritating after hunny moon :).. Awesome sound quality, a little rich in the bottom end but nothing some very good bi-aural software wont fix. The quality is second to none, 100%. I love them and I do expect them to last ((perhaps longer than my marriage :D) considering the great quality.
Best headphones for electronic music
First of all, using without correction has no sense, as they are not even close to flat frequency response. Too boomy in lows and harsh in the highs. But the are still great for me. I use this headphones with correction software Realphones. It corrects frequency response and adds binaural room simulation. Using this plugin with DT-1770 gives me the sound of really expensive big studio monitors. I have never heard Kick in headphones so similar to the real good pair of speakers. You can really feel the punch in your chest. It was Wow effect. That is why I called them best for electronic music. Details and scene are fantastic too. So, with using third party correction plugins - definitely yes! Without correction - for your taste.
simply the best
A must have for audio enthousiastes or pro's. You do need the right gear to appreciate them to the fullest: headphone amp, DAC etc.
Also perfect for a workplace environment since they are closed backs, with the added extra power in the lower bass sections compared to the open back 1990 pro.
They bring out every detail in any type of music.
Lovely headphones with just a tiny issue
Nice and warm sound, can be a bit too sibilant for long session.
I got a tad unlucky with my pair because there is a small crack in one of the plastic parts of the headband but otherwise these feel indestructable.
The biggest issue I have is that the clamping force is a bit too strong and can give you headaches so if you have a big head you might want to steer clear.
This really a different experience
I don't swap them for any other.
These headphones have really honest and detailed sound, yeah, yeah, that's true. My first product with 'Made in Germany' under the logo. The quality of all materials used in DT-1770 feels fantastic, so as I expected.
I like to use them in my home studio when I work with vocals (tuning, adding some saturation, and other magics). I have not so good near field monitoring, especially in high frequencies, and now DT's really helps with detailed work on highs of my mixes.
The headphones perfectly protect from outside noise and do not make any noise when I put on it, so I can work without troubling my family. The large frequency range of these headphones allows to work out with the lowest lower frequency, and I don't need to twist the volume or come up with any other tricks to hear the details. It's fantastic.
The only thing I could say negative about these earphones. It's not super comfortable wearing them for more than a couple of hours. It's too tight and a little heavy for me to wear phones all day. That's it, all minuses I could find.
About the package contents. Two high-quality cables and 3-pin XLR connectors are really good, but I loved spiral cable the most. Immediately replaced the earpads with leather ones that came in the box, and now I'm absolutely happy.
Definitely it's my perfect studio earphones for a long, long time. I don't think I'll ever want to swap them for any other.
Best I have ever used
They are expensive but worth it. As soon as i plugged them in i had to alter a load of mixes i had done as the clarity and precision of my previous ones were not in the same league. Holds low end superbly as well unlike a lot of other phones i have used. Just nice flat sound from all ranges.
Perfect headphones.
A must-have for all professionals. Everything here is made of highest components with no compromises. Headphones are heavy, sturdy and durable. Headphones are comfortable on head and easy adjustable. The sound is amazing, very clean, precise and detailed. They work the best in the studio or in mastering but you can listen to the music with them as well. I use them with E-Drums along with headphones amplifier and they work fine. They are not cheap, however when someone needs a good equipment to work with the music on professional level then this is the equipment for him. I highly recommend it.
Wow
Very accurate, comfortable for long-lasting sound. Exemplary into the scene (for closed headphones) Excellent detail. All individual parts of instruments in sound are perfectly distinguished. Excellent balance between analytical honesty and musicality; Classy design; Very reliable construction; Excellent sound insulation; In general, quite comfortable fit the sound of the ears immediately comes bundled. Perfectly suited for working with sound: critical listening. But it is nice to just listen to music. Sound virtually unchanged from the sliding head headphone Excellent Transmits the difference in sound between the sources of high sensitivity
Excellent! Although not as comfortable as beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro
For my ears the best closed back headphones in price category about 500EU. Good work, Beyer!
But I feel a little discomfort after beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro, I think that this is temporary
Comfortably beast
For my ears the best closed back headphones in price category about 500¤. Good work, Beyer!
