beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro 250 Ohm Reviews
THE live headphones
I use the Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro as a sound engineer on every concert. The overall sound is great but you have to notice the boost in the highs and in the lows. That's no problem in a live situation because most PAs have those boosts, so the DT-770 is honest in a way.
Even for studio recordings it's great. They don't let any sound come out. Besides they are very comfortable even after hours for MY HEAD. I first wanted to buy Shure SRH940 (they sounded a bit better and more natural to me), but they felt very uncomfortable. Other people find the SRH940 fit better. I think everybody has to try on his own. The sound is good and quality is great.
great sound
excellent sound quality and natural response, i have found i can get great results in both my productions and mastering from these, and dont have to deal with poor room acoustics.
Phenomenal.
Amazing headphones.
Very comfortable, I can happily wear for long periods of time. Ear cups are very soft.
Sound quality is astounding.
Despite being 250 Ohms they still sound great through my phone (iPhone 5S).
Very good at keeping the sound in and not leaking into the surroundings.
Only downside I can think of is the non detachable cable, I get worried sometimes that it'll come loose inside out of warranty and i'll be left with some expensive headphones that don't work.
Awesome
Awesome headphones, really, REALLY, high quality. Good for reference listening, excellent bang for the buck, yeah I would say that they sound a lot better than the price tag says. You won't get disappointed. And the comfort is good for those late nights mixing.
A great value professional headphone
I am a fan of Beyer's headphone, the build quality, look, sound and comfortability are all key elements that make Beyer's headphone standout from its peer.
Build quality
No need to repeat, exceptionally built for life long usage.
Comfortability
Very comfortable to wear, ear pad is soft and can wear for a long time without getting it to be taken off.
Sound
I mainly use this for recording given its closed back design. It is not 100% sound leak proof and it might require you to audition your track carefully to see whether the sound leak would compromise your recording. It should be ok as long as you carefully monitor the sound level while doing your recording.
The headphone certainly is not neutral in terms of sound, at least comparing to dt 990 pro or even 880 pro which has the most neutral sound amongst three. I occasionally will use this for enjoying music with my Phonitor 2, great stuff with dynamic sound.
Eight years on since purchase, still my favourite headphones!
These have seen me through college, university, self employment, and are still with me in my latest line of work. The head strap has inevitably perished, but a quick LX tape repair job has itself lasted a few years. Can't recommend them more!
The best in middle class
The build quality is good. It is acceptable that the ears are made of plastic , because that the weight stays to tolerable levels . The ear cushions made ??of suede feel fine and are not as sweaty as leather. This allows for long sessions with high comfort .
The level of detail when playing is really fine and convinced the unexcited , almost distortion-free sound , be it in low, mid or treble . In addition, the DT 770 PRO impressed with a spatial representation , as it is not to be found often in this price range.
But even with this headphone , there is something to complain about . If you put value on a dead straight frequency response , to see the slight over-emphasis on the bass will not fit so well into the stuff . Because the prominent low frequencies are associated with the fact that the centers somewhat into the background , which makes the accurate assessment of a mix for untrained ears.
All in all, the beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO headphones a fine.
An every day workhorse
I bought these headphones about twi years ago. Also I own AKGs 271 MKII. Everyone says, the AKGs are very neutral and they are. But in my opinion if you're trying to rate the bass of a track (in case of taking the headphones to mix up tracks in addition to your monitors) the AKGs are really hard to do so. With the DT770 it's way more easy.
I first thought the Beyerdynamics had a kind of Loudness voicing, but it's just the more bottom they deliver which makes you believe this if you are coming from AKGs.
they do have a slight boost at about 4kHz which makes them sound a little bright, but at all it's a very good headphone.
I use them nearly every day. Really comfortable for a closed system.
The build quality is very good. My first impression was good but I doubted the long term reliability when I saw the cans. But after two years of rough usage I can clearly say they are worth every Cent.
Very comfy to wear, outstanding sound
I have nothing but good to say about these.
Supraaural design makes it possible to wear these headphones the whole day if needed, no fatique. The sound is absolutely top class.
Btw., I took those as extra listening headphones to an acoustic recording of a major label. They ended up on the main engineer's head because he liked them so much after trying.
Top Headphones !
high quality sound. seats on head comfortably.
One negative side is just its coil cable (Wendelkabel). It makes headphones a bit heavy to wear. But it's nothing in compare to main functionality of headphones.
I love it!
Very happy
I took me a while to get used to these headphones. My last pair were Sony MDR5602, and were more forward than these. These are the 250 Ohm version, but they get plenty of level even from my ipod.
Once I got used to the softer character of the DT770, I found them very enjoyable to listen to, and accurate for mixing. I use them in conjunction with my Rokit 5 monitors at home to make mixing and mastering decisions. The room I mix in is untreated, so with certain bass-heavy mixes, using the DT770 is more effective than using monitors. The bass is nice and big sounding, possibly slightly flattering to the music.
They are also one of the most comfortable headphones I've worn, with nice soft velour pads.
The only problem I have with them is that they are big, and are not foldable, and come with no carry case, making travelling with them difficult.
Overall though, I don't think I could've made a better choice for the money I spend. Very happy
Beyerdynamic dt-770 pro
I have had this headset for more than a year now and never had any problem with it..it is light and is closed back type of headphone. The headphone cable is about 2.5 to 3m long and has a 3.5mm jack at the end, but also comes with a 6.3 mm adapter. I use it mainly for recording and monitoring my mix in the studio. In terms of sound reproduction, i think it is very accurate and it does not colour the sound at all. You can hear/detect subtle changes in dynamic ranges without any problem as compared to other headphone monitors i have tried before. beyerdynamic make very good headphones. Depending on your budget, shure and audio technica also make decent headphones. The dt pro is great for the price and has a cool design. It also feels very comfortable on the ears.
Studio!
I am happy. For short session - only this product. Clear and air sound, deep low and dry middle - very good.
Good headphone for studio monitoring
Don't buy these for general listening - that's not what they're designed for. You'll be disappointed as they are very quiet in comparison to consumer headphones.
These phones are purely for monitoring and work great in the studio and on the desk at a live gig. Sound reproduction is very flat which is just what you want. No artificial colouring of the sound at all. If you mix is good, it'll sound good. If it's bad, these guys'll show it up!
Comfort!
The most comfortable studio headphones I've ever had. We've just had a week of 10 hour studio days, and some of the other guys were struggling with tuning, and getting tired of wearing their headphone. I was having a great time, (I'd brought my own cans with me) so comfortable, and I could everything perfectly. The only thing I'd say is in a hot room the fabric cushions can warm your ears up! Apart from that these are ideal
Beyer headphones
I use these in my home studio.
They are great, the sound is good.
They get too warm though after a while and it can be uncomfortable or maybe it is just time for me to take a break! ha
anyway, they are well made and do the job I want.
