beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro 250 Ohm Reviews
Great for monitoring and games
Do not expect this to be great for mixing, and do not expect these to be laid back sounding. Build quality is phenomenal, a literal tank. Comfort is good with stiff but surprisingly comfortable pads, and a good amount of padding on the headband, but my unit has a lot of clamp. The cable is also soft feeling but durable, personally I prefer coiled to straight. Sound is a bit of a mixed bag, bass isn't very tight but there is a lot of low end (Sub 100hz), mids have a small scoop, and treble can be a bit harsh because of a peak somewhere around 7-8khz, if you listen at high volumes, these will make you want to turn it down. I find it a bit tinny sounding but that's coming from headphones with a warm sound signature (Sennheiser HD58x), Detail i find is good for the price, imaging is ok, so is soundstage. Some people will enjoy the audio for music, but this is really for monitoring and on stage performances.
seal is great and doesn't let a lot of sound in, but leaks a bit more sound than expected because of the velour pads.
tl;dr, get these if you want a very durable set of cans for live performances and monitoring. Or if you like v shaped headphones for music.
Excellent!
Hard to fault
I've heard much praise for these headphones. I've been using Sennheiser HD 280 Pro before, but I feel that they hide certain frequencies. Being able to trust your equipment is important when mixing and mastering.
These DT 770s are very clear and above all: they present instruments with precision in the stereo spectrum. Previously I couldn't quite hear the stereo width of sounds in my productions, but now I can easily tell if I need to widen or narrow certain instruments in order for them to sit well in the overall sound stage.
Comfort is top notch, even though I have to extend the arms to their full length in order to get a comfortable fit. I guess I have a large head.
Bearing their price in mind, it's hard to think of better alternatives. However, I'd recommend listening to your mix through a variety of devices to make sure it works well.
high quality headphones
The most comfortable, good looking headphones I have ever used.
I feel impeded!
The impedance is phenomenal. Simply put these are like listening to a safe sound from a safe distance. Not for if you want to blast your face off with bass, but rather for those who have a long session ahead and need the comfort without loosing the outright shape of the music.
Comfort and Sound
Impressed by the comfort. Can spend 5 hours non-stop without any pain.
Very good "neutral" sound quality, although just a little lack of power below 60Hz.
Amazing product
I ordered the 250 Ohms a month ago and so far I can't complain. These headphones are amazing for my home Studio. I wear glasses and I was worried that these were not comfortable enough but I'm happy to say that these ones are very very comfortable in my experience.
Please before you go ahead with the 250 Ohms version, make sure that these are the ones you need, otherwise you will have to add an external Headphones Amp, but that's with any 250 Ohms set.
Excellent value for the money.
If you have Scarlett 2i2, buy 80 Ohms
Tracking
Great for tracking vocals and a bit of editing.
A bit of sharp edges and harsh highs
It's a good pair of headphones, has width and clarity, but can be a bit harsh at the beginning. There are some sharp edges on the hinges. But overall is okay.
Very good monitoring headphone
The quality you expect from this indusrty standard. Good sound and good insolation and a sturdy build quality. Needs solid amplification as this is the 250 Ohm version. If your amplification is less solid its better to choose the 80 Ohm or even the 32 Ohm version (certainly for mobile aplications), as the higher the Ohm the more power is lost, but it is said that a higher impedance gets you a better sound.
Amazing, but quiet with out amp
great headphones with a transparent output.only downside is that they can be quiet without a headphone amplifier
Amazing but heavy
They deliver everything that promises, but they can be kind of heavy on the head for long sessions
Great starter headphones for home studio
These are a great pair for someone recording in their home. The output is not loud enough to use as a monitor for a live drummer, but that's not what these are for. They sound and feel good for the price.
it is dt990, that is it
One of the most popular model of all times.
Great sound, just great. There are others, but for this price for closed headphones it is one of the best. Good for radio application. Very comfortable.
No wonder that it is a standard.
perfect for sound
very good sound level. A little hot for long use
Exactly what it says on the tin
Professional standard headset, with a completely flat response.
This is a headset that is ideal for recording and mixing, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a casual listening headset. This never leaves my studio, and I have a separate set for personal use.
In terms of comfort, they are super comfortable, I've never noticed sound bleeding into my recordings on playback, and for the price I think you'd struggle to find a better set of studio headphones!
Not much to complain here. They are fantastic and do exactly what I expect from headphones.
I only have two slight issues with them.
* they are quite warm in summer.
* the coiled cable feels a bit heavy.
Also, the cable is not replaceable, that would be a nice addition, since I'm a little worried that it might eventually break.
Great, but not perfect ¯\_(ã)_/¯
I use these for monitoring in my home setup as a composer/sound designer. They are more tight around the head than I would have liked and also have a touch more low end than I would like, but for the price they are a great deal and of very good build quality.
Bought it!
great headphones! for mixing!
