Daddario EXL110-10P Reviews
Decent quality strings
I have used these strings on a variety of different guitars and always been satisfied with them.
Great value for money
I play in several bands and gig weekly. I used to use Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys for years, as much as I love the sound and feel of slinkys I found that I they lose their brightness quite fast. I have also broken a few strings at gigs. These seem to be much more durable, I only broke one string in the last 50-60 gigs, but I must say I do prefer the feel and sound of the slinkys. These feel a bit "rougher" and they do sound a bit brighter, some might like the sound some may not...
Great strings
Great strings. Never had a single one break on me. They also seem to handle sweat and dirt well. I usually end up changing strings due to the fretboard getting too dirty instead of strings dying or getting too dull. When buying in a ten-pack you get them for cheaper and it’s nice to have multiple spare sets at home. Each set comes in an anti-corrosion packet, so no worries about strings not surviving 6-12 months of storage. They probably last even longer but I’ve never had a set lying around at my apartment that long. D’Addario also has a string recycling program for people in US, which is nice if you happen to live there.
My go to strings. Nice price for 10 sets.
I used quite a few type of strings before, but this was the one that really stuck with me. I used to buy packs of 1 at the local music shops, but then I saw this 10 pack here, and I had to go for it. It is great because you save around 1-1.5 pack worth of money by buying this. I'd recommend this option if you are thinking about purchasing the EXL110.
Great cheap strings
Maybe not the best one on the market, but quality/cost ratio is great. For those, who prefer change strings frequently, and not waiting, while they dies, this kind of option is reasonable choice.
What I consider the best 'normal' string, as the right price.
I consider the EXLs the best 'bog standard' string, and this is a great value pack. Although larger boxes designed for guitar stores and luthiers are available, they are not protectively packaged like these.
Depending on the number of gigs I have I can use a lot of strings or
not many, and the sealed D'Addario packs are awesome; in some cases I have had the strings for YEARS, and upon opening they were pristine. Tonally, they sit in the middle tone-wise, to my ear; not too toppy, not to dark. Other brands are a bit too harsh for me and take a gig to settle in, but I love these straight out of the pack.
My Favorite strings
My favorite strings. sound like guitar strings should sound.
Always my go-to strings!
Always come back to these strings and the 10-pack give the best value and practically.
Using them for more than a decade!
I've used them exclusively since 2007 in 80+ gigs a year, they've always been reliable!. Great price/quality. Recommended!!
Great for the price
Use
I tried differend brand of strings over the years, but can`t beat these for price / performance. While ago I liked DR Pure Blues, but they are too expensive if you play regulary and change strings often.
I use these on all of my 3 electrics, Fender MIM Strat, Squire Classic Vibe Telecaster and Schecter C1 Exotic Star.
Clarity
They are on the bright side, but sounds great. Even accoustically.
pros & cons
Pros: Great product for the price.
Cons: none, if you change your strings, when they start to sound dead.
For me, I can stretch 1 set for about 3 weeks, playing 2h a day.
Good strings
Good strings at a great price.
More flexible
I won't repeat in detail what everyone with trained ears already knows: D'Addario strings are great in all respects. I now put 11's on all my electrics because they have more nerve, but sometimes I stay a long time without playing my guitars regularly. To make the return to practice easier I decided to keep slightly more flexible strings on two guitars: a 22-frets Strat clone and a 22-frets Squier Telecaster.
The 22-frets are more shred-like, that's one more reason to equip them with a lighter gauge. This is why I bought this set of 10's.
Great sound and durability.
Been using these for more than 3 years now and I am very happy with them. The sound is warm and round and if you take good care (cleaning after playing.
Great strings
none better for the price. sound good and last well.
Solid strings
These are the classic 10s that almost everyone has. The standard I'd say along with 2-3 other brands.
I like the bigger pack because it is a bit more economical and they fit in my gig bag.
I'd recommend them.
D'Addario for life!
I've been playing guitar for over 30 years now and whilst my first ever pack of strings was a set of D'Addario, I tried other brands over the years, but always came back to D'Addario.
I like the colour-coded ball end - it adds some funkiness to the bridge (or on the tuners on my guitar with Floyd Rose as I string the ball end first). Also, the coloured ball ends makes it easier for beginners to identify which string goes where.
The anti-corrosion packaging is a great feature, especially if you usually have a couple of 10-pack boxes that may time some time to get through.
The durability and tone retention is fine - if I play daily or do a couple of prac sessions plus a gig, I would have to replace them after 3-4 playing sessions, however if playing 2-3 times/week then I can keep them up to 6-8 weeks as long as the strings are cleaned with a cloth after each play.
The only time I every break strings is when re-stringing and pulling on the higher strings whilst tuning, but that's just my superhuman strength pushing them beyond their physical limit.
Don't really have anything negative to say about D'Addario strings - even the price tag is good!
Want more do you need
I've used these strings on my Gibson Les Paul for the past few years and never once had a problem.
Good Standard
Been using these strings for years and never had any issues. The 10 pack is a handy way to get them.
Very good quality sound, great idea to have the strings' balls different colors for ease of restringing.. Highly recommended!
Have been using them for years and only had two high E strings break, ever, and that was probably my fault.
The go to set of strings
Have used these for over 15 years.
Just total all rounders and great value.
