FUN!

Interesting and usable: no perceived latency, no strange artifacts.

Still it's a processed sound: I like it,but it's personal. With an already dropped Gibson and an Earthquacker Life Pedal, the sound is going to be extreme...

Awesome pedal

I only have 1 guitar and it's a seven string Schecter. I use this pedal to reach standard D, D# and C# tuning, or drop C and drop A# by dropping the 6th string a whole step. For those purposes it works perfectly. Below 5 steps down pedal does colour a sound a bit. I compared this pedal with Neural DSP's Gojira plugin which also has these capabilities and it sounds the same to me. I still use this pedal to reduce CPU usage and also it is more convenient.

Perfect for the lazy guitarist who does not want to downtune

Having owned a few pitch sifters over the last years (many years) I was a little bit dubious on the quality of the pitch shift and expected it to be a bit glitchy. However, this unit maintains a clear sound and digital-sounding-free (well at least to about 4 or 5 semitones. Lower does start to sound a bit weird, but I never go that low. So for drop E flat or drop D (or even C at a push) it sounds great in both clean or in high gain. Actually in high gain no-one would have the slightest clue that your sound was being dropped digitally.

Actually more than just lazy, it is actually it has a permanent place on my pedal board, as it is just so damn easy to move to a drop key with out having to tune the whole guitar again and possible adjust the truss rod. I have never used the momentary function, I just keep it set at the desired drop. The display is quite nice that it is not just a rotary knob with the text around the knob there is an LED for each semitone drop, do a super clear indication of of the drop setting you have selected. This pedal is also very useful for a clean octave drop. Really can't fault it.

It is a super high quality pedal

Amazing

This pedal becomes an essential tool, both for direct and for studio. It simplifies your life: you no longer have to change guitars or re-tune the strings every time you want to play a song in a different tuning.

Pros: 0 latency, good tone (may sound muddy at lower positions, but can be corrected with slight EQ changes)

Cons: Does not allow you to tune higher

An absolute MUST-HAVE item!

Unbelievable how valuable this pedal is to anyone at all no matter what gear you have, it's super affordable and you pretty much never need to worry about playing different songs of different tunings back to back WITHOUT having to change your tunings manually anymore. just set a half-note-pace up to an octave down from your tuning and hit the switch and you're good to go! absolute must have!

It can save time and your strings like 10 times.

I needed this for streaming as people request different tuning songs. And this device save your strings and time and make experience of playing guitar more comfortable. The device itself is well built, comes with adapter with 2 different adapter's plugs. I only wish if it also had option to just not drop tune but also go over E standard tuning. But overall it is a must thing to carry if you want to play 1000s of songs.

Very useful when you can't detune your guitar(or you don't have another guitar at your disposal) and you have to play in a different key.

Drop Tuning made easy

This pedal is very helpful for anyone who has limit access to many guitars with different tuning or just looking for an easy way to go between tuning or creating weird effect.

It sounds excellent and doesn't affect tone negatively. The pedal itself is very rugged and high quality would 10/10 recommend

Best at what it does

I use this pedal to play songs in Drop A on my guitar tuned to Drop D (5 semitones). I also use it on bass and if you're curious, for me it hits it's limit after taking a low A any lower than 2 semitones (still fairly impressive). At the time of this review (mid 2020), I believe this is the best pedal for this job, and definitely at this price range.

It isn't 100% perfect, playing chords at more extreme settings produces some artefacts, however, there isn't really anything else on the market that can pitch shift this low, while retaining playability AND sound quality as high as the Drop.

Seems to be built solid like a tank, wouldn't really be worried about breaking it.

Best in the game!

I use it with my electric guitar in metal style. Totally satisfied, but the main idea of doing this is limiting to play loud to not to hear instrument's own sound ;)

Other than that, the paddle is just awesome especially for live show. It saves you from carrying multiple instruments with you... BTW it is great with distortion effect... Comes so naturally.

pros: top quality

cons: nature of idea is limiting

Great pedal for what it does

These pedal tent to have latency, not the case with this one.

I find it a bit too dull in some features but overall great product.

Works as advertised

Pedal works perfectly as advertised. Woks great only needing one guitar for most situation in various tunings.

I've seen reviews from other people outside the EU, epsecially the US (where I live) about the shipping time. This order did take well over a month w/ tracking stopping once it reached the US but received the items in the order w/ no issues. Pricing was below the US pricing and I'm not going to complain about shipping times as long as I receive the item in a relatively quick time frame.

Really useful

I love this pedal, it's so much easy now to change tunings. Definitely worth the money

What a fun toy

I wanted something that would allow me to easily change tunings because I play a lot of Rocksmith and tuning can easily become bothersome. This pedal does the job really well.

Its quality is superb and it is very easy to use. The sound is not outstanding if you go lower than a whole step and it sounds very muddy, but if you're not planning to use this in a professional environment and just want to try and experiment with it, then go ahead and try it. Also I'm using this pedal with a bass so maybe the muddiness comes from that ? (I don't own a guitar so I haven't been able to try it...)

The octave/dry mode is super cool though and it works wonderfully.

Excellent drop tuning device

I was looking for a pedal to quickly change tunings for low tuned songs, without constantly having to re-tune. I found this pedal to sounds great!

One thing to keep in mind is that it can sound out of tune because you still hear the string noise (in the original tuning). I would thus recommend this pedal only if you turn up the amp loud enough to not hear the strings, or with headphones.

Class-Leading

I have been a big fan of digital modeling - at my studio, we have the kemper stage profiler, the helix floor and the fractal AX8. While they are amazing in their own rights and have rendered most of my pedalboard redundant, I find that the digitech Drop is one of the pedals that simply cannot be replaced that easily, given its ease of use and its ability to easily and accurately change drop tunings.

all good when played on distortion but once it s on clean the sound quality is affected
