Awesome Little Pedal

I bought this pedal in order to mitigate the want/need to try out an 8-string guitar, as this is much more affordable and is easily the best-sounding polyphonic pitch shifter pedal on the market, out of all the videos i have watched on Youtube.

I also wanted to use to emulate a bass guitar, as that is also costly and takes up room i don't necessarily have.

I just got it and tried it out and i quite like it! The tracking is very smooth and responsive, although i do hear more artifacts when playing chords then i did on the reviews i watched online, but it happens more with chords that are dissonant or out of tune.

I noticed that when i hear the acoustic string noise of my guitar while playing with the drop tuning on, it can sound pretty weird, but the human ear is that sensitive that even when the faintest sound is out of tune we definitely hear it. Playing louder or through headphones eliminates this problems of course!

I'm just disappointed that there are more artifacts the lower the note being played, both by shifting the pitch further down and by playing lower notes on the guitar even as less drastic settings.

Great for quick switching!

I play (almost) every tuning whenever i want now that i have this pedal.

I just always make sure i'm wearing headphones or my amp is loud enough so i don't get confused with the sound of the strings.

when using it on bass it does add a static noise when not playing. but switching it off removes it.

for guitar i have no complaints!

I recommend this!!

Great pedal, affordable and highly functional

The digitech drop does exactly what is advertised in a very effective way. There is no significant latency and it does not disturb your playing.

Strange artifacts start to sound at very low tones, but this is to be expected. For the price, nothing beats this pedal. Build quality is top notch and switch is very silent so it does not make noise when turned on/off.

I highly recommend this pedal.

Change tuning with minimum effect on tone

I use this pedal to drop my guitar one or two keys down when playing in a band or when playing along tracks that have tuned down guitars. The octaver sounds good as well but I hardly use it.

Overall the pedal sounds great with minimum latency. The only thing I have to advice is that your guitar needs to be loud enough so you don?t hear any acoustics. Causes bleeding ears if used at bedroom level!

Love this pedal

A lot of fun........

Works fine, build quality is very good........

Only minor quibble is it "rocks" a little when on a flat table (4 rubber feet are not all perfectly flat). No problem though.

Should be noted that it needs to be played at a volume that is louder than the "unplugged" sound of the strings, otherwise it plays funny tricks on your ears hearing 2 different pitches........

Best product for pitch shifting requirements

Before I bought this pedal, I watched tons of reviews about it, big shot folks using it and part of me always though "Yeah they are endorsed, they have to say that" etc etc.

I can't believe how well this pedal is working and handling pitch shifts.

It doesn't affect the sound at all, except when you are trying to go really really low and having your initial guitar tuned low (Im using C# Drop as initial tuning and yes, having it pulled down by whole octave changes sound a bit).

I am using this pedal for recordings too since I cannot afford having additional guitars with different tunings and recorded DI tracks are phenomenal!

Build quality is quite solid and overall impression is amazing.

I would definitely recommend this pedal, its small, its light, it really covers the whole "different tunings but one guitar" problem!

the drop

this is a great little pedal that allows you to drop your tuning per step untill the octave. It's very usefull when you play in different tunings ; instead of tuning or changing guitar you can just step on the pedal. the sound stays pretty much the same up to 4 steps down, then it starts to mutate a little bit. works on guitar and bass !!

Best pedal I've ever bought!

This great little pedal allows me to switch between different tunings within seconds. I like to play heavy music and play songs of different bands who use different tunings (As I lay dying, Parkway Drive, Slipknot, ...). I never have to switch guitars, I only have to turn one knob.

The sound stays very clear and true when you droptune up to 3 or 4 steps. The pedal is very easy and intuitive to use. The build quality is great (complete metal casing).

Awesome Pedal

This pedal will solve all your issues for playing in different tunes, very fair sound and awesome octaver ! Sometimes it has a little delay but its very little.

Only pros

Tested in live gigs, no delay, no quality loss during playing, reccomend it!

Does what it says

I'm just a casual, at home player. I mostly just do covers of songs I like over a variety of genres and noodle around for fun. In the past I've just had multiple guitars set up in different tunings so I can switch between songs quickly. With the digitech drop though, now I can easily down tune with a simple knob. I haven't noticed and latency or sound quality issues until you get super low. Then it seems to lose a little. But i usually dont go much lower than drop b, so it fits my needs perfectly. Build quality is excellent. Overall happy with my purchase.

Transpose on guitar

This is nice and usable pedal if you need to change fast your guitar tonality... built as tank, easy to use!

Very good purchase

I bought this pedal some weeks ago and I haven't had that many occasions to use it. Here is my opinion so far.

It is a solid and sturdy build. I wouldn't be affraid to drop it from the table on the floor, not that I would recommend it. This is how I use it btw. On the table in front of me to easily change the tunning.

When it comes to tunning it goes like this: from E standart, D#, D, C#, C, B, A#, A, octave and octave & original in some cool mix.

The controls are fine, the knob is a little counterintuitive for the way it spins.

The sound is fine, I don't think one will notice any delay or bad quality, especially if one uses it in their home.

Would recommend 10/10

Over all i like it

If you use distorsion (after this pedal), and put too much gain, it seems to have some digital sound

Does what it says on the tin

I'm happy with this pedal. Does exactly what it says it will do.

I use it mainly to pitch down to -2 steps for some songs. But the Octave setting for bass sound, and especially the dry+octave setting are cool as well. It's almost as if you're getting two pedals in one, so for the price I'm really happy with my Drop.

Another minor bonus: I was suprised to open the box and find a 9V DC power supply with adapter for Euro and UK plugs.

Super stocked to play through it

We've been switching the overall sound in our band from 6 to 7 string and I wanted to try first how it will come up. To be honest in home conditions it sounds OK, but in a rehearsal all band mix it sounds awesome! Very nice and precise sound.

As for the durability and overall quality - this unit is top-notch! A very quiet adapter (3000mah!) is more than enough for the purpose.

The button on the pedal is easy to engage and works without delays and click sounds.

A great fun pedal for experimenting or low octave tones.

I love using the low octave on this pedal in particular, it sounds heavy as hell and tracks great. The low turnings are great for experimenting with.

THE PROS:

Low octave is pretty good, a lot of heavy riffing fun. The pedal tracks pretty well for this sort of thing and the build quality is really nice. Polyphonic is really nice too.

THE CONS:

Bellow a few semitones or so, things start to sound a bit off and can turn to mush compared to actually down-tuning, but it is still certainly usable and a lot of fun.

A great pedal that gets used a lot, nicknamed "the fun pedal" by me and my mates who love to use it every time they come around! Cheaper than buying a whole new guitar!

Downtuning without another guitar

So i was using two alternate tunings next to standard tuning, which led me to bring additional guitars for those tunings. No need for it anymore.I I use it for D and C# tuning. Those intervals work fine. Easy to operate. There is a slight drop in output, but that only clears up the tone when downtuning, so no issue for me. Great tool.

Digitech The Drop Electric Guitar Effect Pedal

Best "single" drop pedal for guitar in the market so far.

I think this is a tecnology that needs future improvements, like better preservation of the original tone while dropping the pitch, and a little less latency. But, afterall, this one is the best you can get these days to this function.

Good sounding, resistant, simple, user friendly, reliable, and it doesn't take too much space on your pedalboard, like other pedals like this one.

I'm personally satisfied.

Not bad

Has slight delay on the sound that is noticeable. Also tremolo'ish effect on sound that happens sometimes
