If, like me, you have a list of dream guitars that would fill your wall, but also understand that, given the way the world is today, that wall of guitars will remain a dream, then this is the product for you. It's amazing for playing at home when switching between tunings for different songs, and for gigging, it will change the game. The ability to change your tuning with the twist of a dial and the push of a button is far easier than adjusting each string individually. If you have a guitar with a Floyd Rose or Evertune bridge, this will help with the extra work involved in tuning. One thing to note is that the sound can be a little artificial compared to physically tuning your strings. When you drop to lower semitones, you might hear a bit of wobble. However, this is easy to overcome by adjusting the bass on your amp. Ultimately, if you're playing loud enough, not many people will notice. I use two guitars: a Harley Benton S-620 TR (an amazing guitar for the price, I highly recommend it) which stays in standard tuning, and an Epiphone Les Paul, which I keep in drop D. To save you the trouble of figuring it out, here are the tunings you get when you drop down by each semitone (note that I used Bias FX's tuner for these, so they may not be 100% accurate): Standard Tuning: 0 (off) - EADGBE 1 - D#G#C#F#A#D# 2 - DGCFAD 3 - C#F#BEG#C# 4 - CFA#D#GC 5 - BEADF#B 6 - A#D#G#C#FA# 7 - ADGCEA Drop D Tuning: 0 (off) - DADGBE 1 - C#G#C#F#A#D# 2 - CGCFAD 3 - BF#BEG#C# 4 - A#FA#D#GC 5 - AEADF#B 6 - G#D#G#C#FA# 7 - GDGCFA Lastly, I showed this off to my guitar teacher. He was so impressed (and made it sound 100% better than I could) that he went and purchased the big brother to the Whammy DT.

Dropped it

So good - with a simple press of a button you get quick change of tuning on your guitar - so guess what - it's a great 2 in 1 feature with no need to change the guitars. It's very easy to set the desired tone drop which you can turn on/off in a single motion.

Does what it claims to do

Had mine for a few months now, works as intended, although it's not really the same feel as de-tuning. Also doubles as an octaver in a pinch.

Amazing pedal to down tune

I love this pedal! I can down tune my guitars without doing setup, including the ones equipped with Floyd Rose bridge.

One way street

I found it does what it's supposed to do. But it does change the sound differently moving up as opposed to down. I thought it muddied and darkened the guitar sound too much dropping the key ( one semitone) needing eq changes. Less so raising the key.

Might have been most useful dropping the guitar tuning and using this to raise back up to concert pitch but I found this trickier to use. Great idea though and a bombproof casing. Changed the sound too much for my liking.

Most useful Pedal ever!

I bought this to save me bringing multiple guitars to gigs, and it does exactly what its supposed to. Granted, when it get to going down 5+ half steps, you may be better off tuning down your guitar but for simple half/whole step down, it saves a lot of hassle! Highly recommend this pedal for any gigging musician

It drops

Does what it’s supposed to do and it only wobbles towards the really low stuff. I’ve coupled it with an evertune and can’t see myself needing to change gauge ever again (won’t stop me from buying new guitars though).

Takes all other effects no bother. No noise. Super robust.

Stick a tuner after it on your board to make transitions easier on stage.

A great pedal for changing Bass tunings on the fly

I bought this to change from E to E flat tunings for playing songs on my bass without needing to re-tune every time.

It works great for E and E flat, and is pretty good for tuning down to D. Sounds a little less clear when dropping more than 2 semitones (probably less of an issue if using an electric guitar instead of a bass and not something I really need to do on bass anyway)

Small, simple and very useful

It's a perfect device to detune your guitar/bass "on the fly". It does not affect your tone (as far as I notice it in my metal projects) and you don't have to bring many guitars to a gig. Also, very useful if you like the string tension tuned in E and the sound of a low tuned guitar.

So Convient!!

Been eyeing up this pedal for so long and finally jumped on it and i have zero regrets.

Makes learning a song so much simpler. I can keep my guitar in standard/ drop d and let the pedal do the rest. (also very useful for rocksmith)

It sounds good to use for recording but i think anything below 2 or 3 semitones it becomes more apparent that theres a slight difference (at least to my ears)

Unique pedal that's perfect for the lazy guitarist.

I don't feel like tuning my guitar down for only a few songs I also, don't have enough guitars to keep them all in different tunings that I might need, so this pedal is perfect. It works well, is sturdy, and even has a couple of cool extra features like the Octave down + Dry signal setting for a more full sounding tone when playing alone. The only minor problem is one that is unavoidable, as it is a digital pedal, the tone can have a touch of that "digitalness," however it doesn't bother the overall sound unless you are really looking for it.

A pedal should everyone have on their rig!

If you're playing in a cover band you definitely need this! Works great if you want to de-tune up to 2-4 semitones and as for the lower pitches sounds OK with a bit of latency (you can use decently it as an octave effect though), but the "sweet spot" I think is up to 2-4 semitones down.

Such a great tool for everyone without having to get many guitars with them in every gig/rehearsal...

Another Amazing Digitech Pedal

The pedal works really well without any latency issues. The sound is good and representative of what your guitar would sound like if it was downtuned. It saves a lot of time tuning in different tunings all the time and it makes your guitar experience more fun. The build quality also is pretty amazing, considering the price that the pedal has. Would deffinately recomend!

A must for metal guitarists!

I like to play a lot of metal some of it is down to G#. This pedal makes it a breeze and it sounds great. My only complaint is that if you practice at low volumes you can hear your strings which basically ruins the experience. But in general once you dial it in its invaluable for playing along to all kinds of metal without ever having to change your tuning.

Does what it's supposed to do in the most efficient way

As any potential Drop buyer, I was looking for a pedal that could save me from having to carry more than one guitar in case I needed different tunings for a gig. The Drop delivers to it's promise in the best possible way, the sound quality is spotless, there is no tone compromise or noise during it's operation and even at the lowest setting there is no significant lag; even when using it with a digital modeller. The build quality is top notch, as with every Digitech product I've owned in the past, and props to them for adding a power supply since it doesn't take batteries or works with the usual Boss style adaptor. If I had to find a flaw, the only downside is that, despite using the same algorithm as the Whammy DT, it only shifts down instead of up too. But that's a minor detail that can't take away from how the pedal sounds good and is user friendly compared to it's competition
