Elixir Nanoweb Light Phosphor Bronze Reviews
BEST ONES
These are maybe the best strings I 've ever used on my electo-acoustic guitar and give a warm and full sound to my ears even when playing acoustically...Of course their thickness counts a lot as far as the sound is concerned since the 11s but mostly the 10s (which i will never use again..) are not playable for fast playing and hard strumming and and they wear out faster than the 12s..Your guitar also needs cording less often than thiner sizes and other brands..elixir are the best!
Elixir Nanoweb Light Phosphor Bronze
String is a personal thing but these are praised by a lot of people listening to my guitar. Very nice balance between being not too bright and not too dark. These strings are really lasting much longer than standard strings.
Great product. Using them for years and I will continue to do so.
Lasting strings
I use this product with my Taylor BT2. The strings feel good, they sound good and they last a long time with heavy playing - at least one month with heavy playing and low maintenance! Worth the money. Speedy delivery and items packaged properly as usual.
Probably the best strings in the world, but some guitars does not like this strings. Fits best for premium guitars. Playability is outstanding 'cos of the flexibility of these strings, but it does not impact well to intonation. The harder strings gave a little bit better intonation, esp. for dreadnought size guitars.
Best Strings
I use Elixir nanoweb phosphor bronze strings on all my guitars.
They sound better than any other brand, feel smoother, and last longer.
They’re a bit expensive, but overall I think they’re the best choice for me.
My favourite guitar strings
Maybe I got all convinced because of the "coated strings, longer life" marketing they have, but since I first tried them in 2008 I only use Elixir strings for my acoustic and electric guitars. Now, I always vary string sizes, so I cannot say if the 12/53 is better than any other (and I guess that's more a question of personal taste). What I can say is that these guitar strings are great for the fingers, very comfortable, they sound great, they last a long time and don't break nearly as often as other brands.
Lovely sound
I bought these to replace a different set I was using on a Fender CD-60 acoustic. The old strings were starting to sound dull. These new strings gave the Fender a fuller, brighter sound, especially for the lower notes. Recommended!
My number 1 choice in terms of strings for my acoustic and electro-acoustic guitars. You just can't go wrong with Elixir strings. Unlike strings from other brands which often brake, I have never experienced that with Elixir, from the day that I bought my first set of strings of this brand, almost a decade ago.
Excellent
Straight replacement on my Taylor acoustic. Always happy with these.
Pretty good
Works perfectly for a SJ model. It feel slinky and delivers a huge sound.
And as it is expected, it lasts a long time.
Very good strings
Nice strings, I used them on my Taylor 114ce, and they sound fantastic.
The only ones I use for my Taylor
These strings have been the warmest sounding and long lasting ones I've been able to find, haven't found any other brand that can make my Taylor 214ce and Taylor 210ce sound as good, espicially in gig situations on cruise ships where you are constantly faced with different atmospheric conditions on a daily basis with drastic changes in temperature and humidity.
Top quality
Great sounding acoustic strings. They have a great feel and stay really nice and fresh over a longer period of time. Nothing more to say: amazing strings, worth every penny.
super strings for taylor guitars
Best strings for acoustic
Best strings for acoustic guitar I ever played.
Long lasting perfectly balanced sound.
Worth the price.
Best coated strings
I tried these strings because my hands sweat a lot during the performances. I found a great sound, a perfect feeling and they last more than 5 times the other strings. I tried strngs that play a little better than these, but after a couple of gigs I had to change them, and even on the second one, the sound had already changed.
Elixir are very good because they maintain the same sound until they are done... but it takes a long time. Try to believe!!
Great Strings
Im playing a lot of gigs with my Takamine tnv 460 sc and this strings on it. The sound Im getting from this strings: balanced, bright...and best of all, it lasts...
Can't use other ones
After using Elixir, I can't use other strings. For durability and sound, that's the best choice you have.
Not the worst, but far from good
I bought this set with the idea to replace the strings of my new acoustic and still be able to enjoy the bright sound of the factory phosphor bronze strings. However I was truly disappointed by the quality of the product.
The first problem appeared when I was changing the strings. As I was finishing tuning the 1st string, it just snapped, and after close examination I established that the winding on the ball end of the string was gone, meaning that it has faulted at it's joints. This has never happened to me before even with the cheapest string sets, and I have been setting up guitars for the past decade.
Another drawback of this set is that even though their top layer is made out of phosphor bronze, they still sounded far mellower than they are supposed to, especially for being a light gauge. However, they did retain a good tone for quite a long time. After I took them off I noticed that the nanoweb coating is actually a nylon-resembling sheet that is "laminated" onto the string... to me that is the reason why they sounded so mellow.
Overall, I wouldn't buy them again. I have switched to D' EXP 26 and I am far happier with them.
