Elixir Nanoweb Light Phosphor Bronze Reviews
Elixir Nano Guitar strings
I would not use any other string, as a professional player I need my guitar strings to stay bright and alive everytime and last. Elixir guitar strings do just that.
I use these strings on my custom acoustic dreagnought and it sounds awesome. Thick and bright tone is kept for quite a time compared to some other strings used before which losing tonality quickly.
True guitar strings!
With Elixir strings you simply can't go wrong!
Amazing strings
These are my go to string for acoustic guitar. A new set of these on my Taylor and life has never felt or sounded quite as good.
I wouldn't buy anything else!
Great Strings!
Probably the best strings for acoustic guitar, durable and sound so good!
Great set for my Dreadnought
I don't play acoustic guitar that much anymore and by having Elixir's on it now it means I can keep them on longer because of their extended life.
They sound great with my Dreadnought guitar, warm sound and good sustain.
I found the coating of the Elixir's protects the strings from my sweat, which compared to other manufacturers were getting rusty pretty fast. This is why I've been using Elixir strings for my electric as well.
Fully recommend.
Elixir acoustic strings
First time I have used Elixir on an acoustic although I have used them exclusively on all my electrics for years. Just as expected they feel good and ring nicely.
Best available strings on the market
I have used them on all my guitars for over a decade. They sound exeptionally good and last much longer the any other uncoated strings. Money well spend.
Quality Strings!
I play a lot of live shows and have used Elixir Nanoweb strings for around 2 and a half years. These strings are marginally more expensive than the Martin ones I used previously but they last about 3 times as long.
The only negative I can give really is that the brightness you usually get with a brand new set of strings isn't quite the same with these, almost like the Nanoweb coating is deadening that tone slightly. Don't get me wrong, these strings sound GREAT! Obviously the brightness I'm referring to only lasts a day at the most on a non-coated set of strings before they start to deteriorate. I can get 4 or 5 gigs out of a set of these if I need to whereas I used to change after 2 gigs.
Totally recommended by me!
Elixir quality you expect
yeah they cost more than most strings but the sound is great and they last me from about 6 weeks to a few months assuming I don't break them.... which happens often enough sadly.
Due to the price and the fact that they break as often as any other string I don't use them on my acoustic as often as the electric.
If however I have a gig I want to sound particularly good for or if I'm going into a studio I'll put some fresh strings on, when I do so, these are what I go for.
OK but nothing special
I have a Yamaha CPX900 which has quite a full sound with a strong bass response. I have tried Martin SP, which did not suit the guitar at all - too rich a sound, and Yamaha's AEP12, which worked very well - bright, crisp and clear, but allowing the full sound of the guitar to be heard. The Elixirs are somewhere between the two. They are a better match than the Martins and they are a little fuller sounding than the Yamahas, but not so crisp and clear. The Elixirs have a nice slick feel with reduced string noise and they should last much longer (but they are much more expensive).
Super strings
its sound super
perfect for a taylor
These are the strings that come on a taylor guitar. Though for years Ive always prefered Martin phosphor bronze. However... I went through a bunch of different strings, and none sound right on a taylor guitar apart from these, in my opinion.
Its true that they do last a lot longer than non coated strings. The seem to keep their brightness for a lot longer. You can actually see it in the colour of the strings, they look bright and clean and dont seem to get dirty looking.
Though strings are subjective, I used these a few years ago on a different guitar, and they were just not nice. I think with strings, you just have to experiment.
The Best
The Best your Acoustic can get!! these strings really compliment my guitar sound effectively. I use the on my Taylor 814 and my Gibson j-200 the result is simply breath taking. I suggest these strings to everybody who appreciate real tone.
The "Elixir Nanoweb Light Phosphor Bronze" Strings are awesome.
I tried many many different strings and most of them loose their brilliance (especially the wounded strings) after a few hours of playing.
The Elixir's are different. They keep their brilliance for months. They sound great and they are really worth the money.
I use this set on my lakewood m32 and it sounds very very good and well balanced. Even some drop/ open tunings (drop D, DADGAD or the "andy mckee" (i just got this tuning from one of his songs) - E-H-D#-F#-D# -Tuning) are no problem.
I always use Elixir-Strings an i am very happy with them.
Best strings for full time players!
These strings have been the only strings I use for 4 years now! Even though they are the most expensive on the market, they are value for money. They last more than twice as long as other brands, meaning having to buy strings less often! Highly recommended product!
elixir strings first try
had the same set on my jumbo acoustic for 3 months , still zingy and bright .
very good stings BUT ,very expensive .
Perfect
Hello at all,
I'm a big fan of elixir strings as they stays way longer than other manufacturers strings and also have great tone. The sound of the strings is very bright and metallic, which I personally prefer. The actual coating. It is a very thin coating that feels like a mixture of rubber and plastic (not in a bad way though). The material is very fast and not sticky at all. You easily get used to the coated feeling of the strings, so that's no problem. While keeping the bright sound you can feel the coating wearing out after 3-4 weeks. Especially right above the frets the coating was totally worn out, which lead to more friction and resistance between the frets and the strings. They are worth the money because they outlast standard strings whilst keeping a crisp tone. The sound quality and tuning throughout the length of string is spot-on. Try them once and you'll be hooked! If you are looking for quality, tenacity and preciseness in your guitar string aim for the best and the best are Elixir strings. More durable and worth, that?s what you really want: To reach the right notes in your guitar.
Try them
coated strings...
not sure about the merits of coated strings. They seem overly bright and metallic sounding. Maybe if you have particular problems with strings you might like them, but I have to say I wouldn't buy them again.
Elixir Nanoweb Light Phosphor Bronze
These stings (Like all Elixir strings) are amazing! These stings are the best I have ever used. They give the guitar a beautiful and bright tone. These strings also feel quite good against the hand while playing. These strings are the longest lasting stings I have used! I have had them on for at least a month now, playing a few times a day and they still sound as well as they do when i put them on.
