Ernie Ball 2221 Reviews
Good sound for the price.
Slinky are interesting strings, having in mind they are one of rare companies who have specially made strings for detuning. I have bought many of their products, including those made for detuning and these regular strings are cheap and affordable. But If I compare them to, say, Blue Steel, I can definitely hear and feel the difference. After some time playing Slinky, strings loose their tone a bit, and coating falls off from thiner strings, which irritates me a lot, but doesn't change the sound. So in the end, they are not so good quality and they don't last long.
Very good strings
Ernie Ball makes some of the best guitar strings in the market today. Many guitar shops will recommend you this strings. I am very satisfied by their quality and tone.

The guitar strings work as you would imagine. They sound good and are slinky enough to bend notes. I prefer a less slinky style usually, but these weren't overtly slinky as some guitar strings can be.
Great sounding strings for a very reasonable price.
I've been using Ernie Balls electric guitar strings for many years by now and I can highly recommend them to any guitar player, despite guitar model or playing style. Considering the price they are long lasting and keep the sustain, especially if you take good care of them and wipe them after playing. Used countless packages and can't really complain about anything.
EB Strings
These are classy, quality e-guitar strings with good sound and fine feel under your fingers. They are very affordable and durability is fairly long, but that also depends on how often you play. For me, thumbs up !
Never let you down
In my opinion, the best strings! I use these to five of my guitars. Smooth and nice sound and they almost never broken. Also fits perfectly to the Variax guitars.
My favourite strings
I still remember the moment when I tried Ernie Ball strings after experimenting with lots of different brands - it was exactly the sound I wanted! They have a really bright sound and pinch harmonics in particular sound great. I play metal, and for palm-muting with a sharp, distinct attack these are perfect. They bend very easily too. The downside is that they don't last very long compared to other brands I tried.
Good ol' strings
Slinkys are my go-to strings. Consistent quality
The original and the best
When I first started playing in a band, the lead guitarist, whom I greatly admired, would only use Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys. I figured that if they were good enough for him, then I needed to have them too. They're great workhorse strings, they feel good under the fingers, and remain bright for quite a while. I often use cheaper strings for practice, but would generally fit these strings for a gig.

Great strings. Have tried quite a few of the top brands but Ernie Ball 2221's are by far my favourite. Great sound, last longer than most strings I've tried, and most importantly they bend slightly easier and make playing just that bit more fun than all of the other strings I've tried.
Great strings
Good quality strings from a good manufacturer in a pack. Not much else to say :)
Great strings
EB manufacturing quality can't be beat.
If you play 10's these are superior strings.
Great tone, great value
These strings give a clear tone with a warm bassy tone which I love. Not as bright as d'addarios which I would prefer on a strat but these strings sound great on my Semi-Hollow body guitar. Why spend any more for strings which won't sound too much better?
The Industry Standard?
I've been using Ernie Ball strings for at least ten years & haven't found any reason to change brand - they sound great, are long lasting & great value.
I love 2221s!!
I just love these strings on my main electric, always a great tone, very rare to get a broken skin and they last quite long too.
Great Strings.
I have only ever used Ernie Ball strings, so I can't compare to there brands of strings, however I use these strings for E Standard and Drop D and they're sound great to me.

Standard set of 10 gauge strings, good enough quality but don't hold their tone as long as others
Excellent tone, quality and price.
I have always found Ernie Ball to be of excellent quality when it comes to guitar strings. I had bee using Super Slinkys for a number of years but I found with my aggressive playing style that I was breaking strings too often. Regular Slinkys are just the right gauge for me to play heavy and bend easily and they sound fantastic. I use them on all my guitars.
Great strings
These nickel Regular Slinky guitar strings are my every-day strings of choice. They are the most affordable, decent-sounding strings I have found. They are well made and have been designed for detuning as well as regular tuning.
Good strings
I always use these strings on my Gibson Les Paul and they ALWAYS sound fantastic! Remember strings are a personal preference, so its difficult to make a full review. But if your preference are 10s I would certainly recomend these to any guitarist (beginer or advanced). They last a reasonably long time too!
